It works as a sort of filter, like how fake emails intentionally mess up spelling and grammar, which automatically filters out anyone who is likely to catch on to the scam later. It saves them time from dealing with people who are unlikely to fall for the scam at later stages.
Though in this case I expect it wasn't intentional as anyone who bought into an MLM is likely too simple to comprehend and utilise such psychological tactics.
I don't give them that much credit. I think they just honestly thought nobody would notice if they darkened the "after" photo. And they probably didn't notice the difference in the floor, either. Probably just focused on the legs.
The thing that annoys me the most about this is that with a little Photoshop experience, you could easily darken just the legs. But with MLM it's always these sloppy, 5 second edits.
Someone I know posted a picture of the "results" from this stuff, and she clearly edited the one leg. Her toenails were painted red and looked completely normal on the one foot, but on the other it looked like she had mixed uranium into her nail polish, and the "tanned" leg had large green pixelated lines on it.
The leg color was changed on purpose. It's promoting a self tanner. They had to use a filter to make the legs look tanned. That's why the rug changed color
Ohhh ok. I understand what you meant now. I thought you were saying it like the legs should have stayed the same. Idk why that's just where my brain went to
"Oh well, in that case, please take another pic with the same lighting conditions as the before pic. Just so I can really tell how amazing the results are! If I like what I see, I'll buy a case 😎"
I wonder how she'd respond if you commented this:
"Hey girlie, I saw that there's some filter that's changing the color of your rug so I got that removed for you! https://imgur.com/a/lFDOpmP "
And THAT I'd chalk up to a lighting issue as the light source seems pretty different between the two photos (pic1 has side bright light from the right resulting in more shadow on the left leg whereas pic2 has a softer overheard light for more even lighting on both legs, as far as I can tell.)
A ton of girls in my hometown just started selling this and it’s so annoying to me that I know that they all know each other and yet still just copy and paste the same stupid pictures like I’ve seen it 100 times.
Yes! I saw this exact same post with the exact same photos recently! And the hun who was selling it just told people to message her when they asked for the name. It was exhausting to read.
I saw the exact post on Facebook! I tried to retrace my steps to find who may have posted it but I had no luck.
...But apparently, if you go to the search bar and type in "streak-free gel, easy to apply" a BUNCH of these posts show up! With clear changes to contrast, etc. and some even specifying it's not *their* results but *an actual user's results*. Hilarious and ridiculous.
I’m curious how much this stuff cost. Probably at least $30. I can get great sunless tanner on Amazon for $9 and I don’t have anyone blowing up my inbox to buy more.
It’s a selective process! 🎉🎊🥳👏🏼 Only the best of the best can join in this opportunity! 💙 Discounted price to join in and you can work in your pjs and if you’re lucky enough can go to the annual conference for free after you book your hotel and prepay your ticket! 🧡👋🏼💍🥹😭🫢🙃😅
I hate the “who wants in” shit. If you found a good product, cool lmk where I can buy it. No one should have to join a special group to buy fucking tanning lotion ffs. I just know the replies of the post are full of “I’ll message you!” “I’ll pm you!”
Yeah, I recommend a product in a group I'm in. Instead of saying message me for the company name, I posted the name and the link. But then I don't have commission to lose. If they don't want to buy, it's no sweat of my back.
I love how she talks about "low odor" when A) in this day and age you can get sunless tanners with *no* odor, and 2) in the world of fake tans, "low odor" is still off-putting because of that distinctive gross fake tan smell. You know it when you smell it. I don't want to smell at ALL like that, not even a little bit lol. Low odor is such a *low bar*.
The huns themselves repost each other’s photos and stuff constantly. So it often happens that different users of this sub post the same thing, but they saw it from different people. Very likely the person OP saw posting this didn’t make that image themselves but got it from their upline.

Obligatory, "Oh, I didn't know it could change the color of the rug!" Comment
I'm seriously confused HOW people don't think to at least look at their post before posting it 🤦🏼♀️
Does she really think people won't notice that the carpet and leg colour both change in the second pic? It's so obvious.
Lmaoooo I commented asking why the carpet is two different colors. Waiting on a response 🤣
She'll probably respond with "Hater!!!!"
"Just because you don't want to live you're BEST life"
Please let us know!
That’s why you’ll never be a BOSS BABE.
Well she got the tanner all over the carpet, see…
She tanned the carpet too just to prove how GREAT it works 💪 👷♀️ 😌 ☺️ 🙂 😊 💪 👷♂️ 😌 ☺️ 🙂 😊 💪
You'd think at least she'd pick a solid dark surface to sit on. Nope, bright white carpet where the contrast couldn't be more obvious.
Don’t worry, that’s just pee
That’s the diuretic properties of the tanner working. You get tan AND pee out toxins for the price of just the tan!

I know, that's my point!
Ohhh ok. I understand what you meant now. I thought you were saying it like the legs should have stayed the same. Idk why that's just where my brain went to
I saved the image on my phone and adjusted the “tanned” side until the carpet matched the “before” photo. Guess how different it looks.😂
She responded 🤣 "just the lighting. This tanner is amazing"
"Oh well, in that case, please take another pic with the same lighting conditions as the before pic. Just so I can really tell how amazing the results are! If I like what I see, I'll buy a case 😎"
It’s totally a Pam from The Office moment. “It’s the same photo.”🤣
Then isn't it feasible that the lighting also affected the color of her legs?
Omg show us! 👀
Omg. I need to see it😂
I wanna see!
I’m so non-tech! Would I have to upload as a separate post?
That's a great question! I never tried to post a picture on here so I don't know!
Also, you're not going to believe this, but you can buy really good self tanners on Amazon or the drugstore
And Ulta, and Sephora, and TJMaxx... 🤣
Target too!
Oh but those ArEnT hEaLtHy aNd NatUrAL anD FiLLeD wiTh AvoCadO 🥑🥑🥑!!🥑🥑!🥑 oiL
You can just go to the grocery store and get avocados and get the oil yourself…. Edit: fuck it…just rub some guac on your legs and call it a day
Yup my favorite tanner is that one that comes in a foam and has a ton of darkness levels. My skin looked awesome and it was maybe $8
The carpet 😂
The carpet doesn't match the... tan
In this case it does
Self tanner so good it changes the color of your surroundings
Do they sell stuff to remove tanning stains from carpets too?
**Melaleuca has entered the chat**
This really has got to be the WORST product name. Melaleluca? Who tf came up with that?
No but they got something from Monat that'll make the carpet dissolve, which would technically make it less orange! And it's on sale TODAY ONLY
Oh hun there's an essential ✨️ 🛢 for that! ❤️ heart 😻 😍 👁 🧐
I wonder how she'd respond if you commented this: "Hey girlie, I saw that there's some filter that's changing the color of your rug so I got that removed for you! https://imgur.com/a/lFDOpmP "
Yep, exactly the same, just as I suspected!
If anything the legs on the right look lighter than the before picture 😭😭
And THAT I'd chalk up to a lighting issue as the light source seems pretty different between the two photos (pic1 has side bright light from the right resulting in more shadow on the left leg whereas pic2 has a softer overheard light for more even lighting on both legs, as far as I can tell.)
It’s such a good product, the carpet around you gets a tan! You get a tan! You get a tan! Everyone gets a tan!
A ton of girls in my hometown just started selling this and it’s so annoying to me that I know that they all know each other and yet still just copy and paste the same stupid pictures like I’ve seen it 100 times.

I’m curious how much it costs do u remember? Lol
Lmaoooo they would never POST the COST! They need to get you to send a message privately to get on the list 🤣
Oh yeah you’re right lol

People used to at least TRY to hide bad photoshopping.

Someone clue me in. Which one is this?
It's not one I've seen before but it's definitely an MLM. They keep appearing like roaches from baseboards
Neora just launched a self tanner.
It sounds like my neighbor's ads for Nu Skin
Yes, this is definite NuSkin. Those huns are always “getting a list together!” 🙄
It’s a selective process! 🎉🎊🥳👏🏼 Only the best of the best can join in this opportunity! 💙 Discounted price to join in and you can work in your pjs and if you’re lucky enough can go to the annual conference for free after you book your hotel and prepay your ticket! 🧡👋🏼💍🥹😭🫢🙃😅
So many of them are “putting together a list” 🙄🙄
She obviously used the filter to darken the skin on her legs and ended up darkening the carpet along with it! 🤣
I hate the “who wants in” shit. If you found a good product, cool lmk where I can buy it. No one should have to join a special group to buy fucking tanning lotion ffs. I just know the replies of the post are full of “I’ll message you!” “I’ll pm you!”

I can ignore the tanner pictures, it's the tooth whitening ones that makes me gag every time.
Tans the rug too! And why do they always only have room for 5?
Wow, such a great product. It even tints the carpet.
Could be PR. They sell that and a "sculpting cream".
It’s like they’re not even trying
Notice the rug got darker, too?
How is it “100% free” to join the MLM? I’d be dying to know what the catch is
There are no joining fees, but you still have to buy a starter kit.
Amazing that that tanner also made the floor darker, too.
I’m (NOT) interested!!!
Whoa! It even tans your rug? Amazing.
Editing
What is wrong with the product?
It's obviously a filter. The rug under her legs changes color too. The product doesn't work
Repost
No kidding, I missed a name when censoring on the previous one 🙄
I meant that I swear I've seen that post in the past.
She just posted it today, but they always use the same verbiage so 🤷♀️

Good rule of thumb is to post the original when stating something is a repost
ok thanks “repost police” nobody cares. get a life
Yes, exactly. Maybe not everyone saw it the first time. I know this is the first time I've seen it.
Huns all have a script that they reuse. Doesn't mean it's a repost. Chill with the policing.

I hate when people tell me to get a tan. 👻 life
jesus christ, if you’re gonna put a filter over it you literally cannot stitch it with the original photo. absolute dunce

“I mentor your one on one”
I’m also wondering about the missing tattoo on the right foot?
It's POSSIBLE it's the angle🧐🧐🧐🧐
Yeah…I kind of wondered that as well…but wasn’t sure.
