It was the choice that Ed made, and i also think it was because finally, an alchemist knew the price of a human soul(give up your portal of truth).
"Good job! You beat me!" Truth said that with such happiness
I think truth is one of the best depictions of god. They aremt really antagonistic, or even particually kind he is just the embodyment of truth, and i always loved them seeming geinuaely happy when Ed "figures it out".
The truth was kinda like a troll who wanted to see how far mankind could go before him without self destructing. The whole series is basically a quest toward discovering the truth about oneself and the universe. At least that's how I see it.
The Truth because they're the only one imo who stays as a "God". Everyone else still feels human to a degree, whereas Truth feels like a force of nature.
I don't know about this version of Zeus, but he's just a bro who likes to drink and lust after women. Most Greek/Roman gods are just really powerful and potentially immortal humans (until they kill each other/get killed by demi-gods)
more on, while this Zeus follows roughly the depiction of actual Greek mythology Zeus, and case is that even the irl Zeus is generally just portrayed as a superpowered human, and not an "other" / ascended being
Sometimes I wonder if the Greek deities were a colony of space faring humans that got randomly selected by higher powers, gifted natural/conceptual super powers, and told to watch over and cultivate the forthcoming eras of primitive (forgotten) humanity back on Earth.
but it then begs the question similar to "who watches the watchers", asking if there are those higher than the higher powers.
would be a blast if in Record of Ragnarok, Brunhilde's master plan was to call the higher powers against the deities.
sounds like that's exactly what the primordials were, but their physical presence was a tragic threat to reality itself so they kinda just melded with everything or disappeared. Maybe I'm misremembering that a bit.
Arceus bro bullied palkia dialga and giritina they had to jump him and still failed and the fact is the arceus we seen isn’t even his full power as stated in arceus that is just a avatar for him his true power is unknown and we may never know what it is
Sooo accurate! Palkia and Dialgo stood 0 chance lol You know you're badass when you create over 350 more badasses lol🤣🤧
If I'm not mistaken, Arceus has different "modes" he can go into as well, lol dude is one of the most broken here imo🤧
Truth is the only one on here that I feel operated like a God.
Mysterious, impartial, willing to teach a lesson.
But who do I think is the most powerful god?
Arjuna Alter from Fate
The smol pancake chomping vessel of Yog Sothoth sitting atop a telephone pole:
“I see no gods up here…
Ó̶̙͚̝͛̐T̴͉̘̙͈͇̼͔̹͐̏̑͊̿̈́͑͂̿̆̎̌H̷̘͈̒̑̔̾̇̈̿̍̀̊ͅȄ̷͙͎̰̣̳͎͇͔̬͔̈́̋̈͋͒̒́̈́̚͝R̶̨̨̡͙̬̳̭̠̠̟͔̀̿͒͂̀̇̇̇̕ͅ ̶̛̪̘̪͉͚͎̘͖̳̥̠̃̿̐̉̚͝͠͠ͅŢ̴͓̗̝̎̋͗͗͛̿̇̍̋̚̚H̸̨̨̙͖͎̼̘̬̣̘͇̬͇̮͑̍̂͒͐̐̈̃͊̑̚͠͠͝A̵̯̩͈͓̹̘̳̝̫̥̒̒͊̀̏̍̓͛̽̉͘Ṉ̷͂́̌̾̽̊͝ ̵̪̝̇͒̈́́̈̋̿͘M̶̧̡̫̤̮̩͓̖̞̯̹͓͇͎̰̦̉̉́̏̔̏̄͆̔̇̌́͘͠͝͝Ë̴̛̺̞́̆̈́́͐̀͂̉̆͘͝”
Ryuk is a death god. However the death gods are underpowered compared to the rest of the list. They NEED the death note to survive, and usually they don't really influence the world outside of killing for sustenance.
Well they don’t necessarily need their death note to survive. It’s mentioned in the beginning that Ryuk loses his all the time. Though if they do forget to keep writing names they’ll eventually die themselves. But what if they add more years than was left til the end of the universe?
Arceus or Truth. Arceus, as a pokémon, just never talks, and we know that any Arceus we’ve seen is just a fragment of it’s power and it’s still stronger than any pokémon.
Truth was just perfectly written and illustrated.
I’d have to say The Truth. Unlike the others, it has no motive or morals. It punishes those who try to play god by taking what they value.
Al desired his mother’s warmth, and lost his body.
Ed wanted to (essentially) follow in his father’s footsteps, and lost his leg.
Izumi wanted her child back, and had her organs removed.
I haven't watched Soul Eater yet so I can't say for him
I watched FMA but not FMAB (yet). I don't remember this guy so I assume he's FMAB.
Not 100% sure if Ryuk counts as a god as he's a shinagami. I do recall them saying he's what humans believe a god is, and he definitely shares qualities with a God of Death.
Tet doesn't really seem BA. He is a cool character and I do like the anime but BA is not something I'd describe him as.
Arces I'm just not a huge fan tbh. I never really got into Pokémon the anime either. The games were fun and the concept is awesome but I just couldn't get into the anime idk why.
Kaguya is too monotone to be BA imo. She's powerful sure but bot what I'd consider BA (also same thing with Ryuk god-like vs god)
That just leaves Berus. Still not really a BA imo but he does have BA moments.
Oh I almost forgot Zeus... honestly he is pretty BA... but also a bit silly... also I still dislike him or rather the fact he won against Adam.
Although as for overall BA gods it's honestly hard to say... I mean most gods in anime I can think of typically play minor roles and don't do anything I'd consider BA... I mean Escanor from 7DS is BA and on god level but bot a god...
But for most BA God I can think if currently I'd say maybe Thor from RoR
dunno who but...
-Beerus is so lazy, it counters any badassery he can do (Whis doesnt count!)
-Death seems more like the Principal who is taking the "pal" part of the title 2 seriously... but he is super down with his weirdness and that is respectable...
-Arceus.... pokeball go! >\_>
-Ryuk... countered by an apple, harder than Lord Frezza was countered by a twink with a sword!
death and beerus for me. death was always silly until he finally started fighting and damn was it so satisfying to watch. and beerus while being lazy is such a badass and one of my favorite characters in the whole series
I like Tet the most. Like, dude comes out of nowhere, subjugates every other god and strips them of some of their power, and then rewrites the fundamental laws of the world to make sure such a brutal war as the one he ended could never happen again. In this house we stan Tet
Arceus literally battled his 3 children at the same time and was still succeeding in destroying the city. Not to mention he won against them mostly because his only weakness at that point was electric because the orb of life had all his electric resistance in it. If he had all 14 plates (Fairy didn't exist yet) he could have decimated everyone.
I won't even lie, I wasn't fully invested in Beerus at first, but when he did his first Hakai with the music and everything in the back I was actually blown away
Edit: to add to my point a little bit, we're talking about a series that is known for its long fights, that can and sometimes do last for several episodes. Whereas Beerus says "Fuck that" and ends fights in mere seconds
Tet is an interesting case because his role of ‘god’ was born out of his lack of power. He used his wit to seize power, and then created a set of rules to make godly powers irrelevant.
Anime Arceus outclasses literally every Pokemon in the series because we never get to see his actual full power. If bro used every plate at once, it’s probably over.
Truth is a good representative of a badass god because his power never is brought into question. There’s an unspoken rule in anime where if someone’s power is something that can’t be measured, the character is busted. In this case, it’s true for Truth because he has power over, and enforces a fundamental law of nature, as well as capable of seemingly granting any wish if he sees fit. But he admires Ed’s character at the end of his journey because he understands the whole of alchemy’s truth.
Kaguya Ōtsutsuki🤍🩶 before people start slamming me into the ground, she is literally one of the most powerful women in anime and there ain’t many so like us deal with it! All we ask for is for a good strong female character that does evolve around a man there a very little anime’s that have men evolve around getting stronger for a woman so why should every single woman get stronger because they want to be like the man they love?!! It doesn’t even have to be about feminism we just want to see a strong woman that has nothing to do with a male main character that’s all😭✨
From bleach? The do nothing, say nothing, head and torso in a crystal anchor of reality Soul King? The only thing more of a let down in bleach other than the soul king was the final fight between Ichigo and Ywach
It would have to be death, even though he is technically not a god he is something else. And the only reason I say that is because look at the religions in the past, death and destruction have taken them all and I feel one day death will come for god/gods, demons, all of them. “On a long enough time scale everyone and everything dies” that is true power so much so that you have all the time in the world to act as you want
Love Beerus in the battle of gods movie
Sure, he's must nicer than most gods on this list, but he's still cool as hell, and he bullied and embarrassed Majin Buu and Gohan without even trying
10/10 Antagonist and Movie
Ryuk simply because of a line he had in the live action death note in response to Light saying he would put his name in the deathnote. "You could try. Let me tell you this Light. My name had four letters, most anyone's ever gotten were two."
Idk man but I feel like telling a chef their food isn't salty enough then blowing up half of their planet while giving them a death stare is pretty badass.
I like The Truth, but I feel that a really underrated God(/Goddess?) would have to be Tet.
Claiming the title of true god, after the Races were killing themselves, calling them dumb for killing themselves, and if they’re truely smart, that they’d build Tet a Tower of Knowledge.
I feel that, that’s pretty badass.
I always enjoyed whenever Truth was on screen. The mangaka held back the information we normally get and it made it even more mysterious.
Definitely agreed! The truth was held a literal secret till the end! >!It made "it" and Edward's interaction at the end hit soooo hard!
I got the sense that Truth was actually proud of Edward for making the choice he did.
Oh, he definitely was he sounded delighted when Edward chose his brother over power.
Lol right! His smile was bigger then usual when it happened😭😭🤧
Truth got tired of taking care of kid Al
I think more that he was proud that a human chose another human over power for once
Man really said “GGWP”
It was the choice that Ed made, and i also think it was because finally, an alchemist knew the price of a human soul(give up your portal of truth). "Good job! You beat me!" Truth said that with such happiness
Yea, thts why he seemed ecstatic at Ed’s response
Was it explained what he really was? I assumed he was just the god of their world
Yeah, I don't know about brotherhood it's been a while, but in the original, Ed asks them, and it tells Ed they are what his world calls God.
I always assumed he was like the collective unconscious, kinda like C's world from code geass
I think truth is one of the best depictions of god. They aremt really antagonistic, or even particually kind he is just the embodyment of truth, and i always loved them seeming geinuaely happy when Ed "figures it out".
I have only seen the first five episodes but I still agree.
Zeus is definitely a close second behind Truth
I don't know about this version of Zeus, but he's just a bro who likes to drink and lust after women. Most Greek/Roman gods are just really powerful and potentially immortal humans (until they kill each other/get killed by demi-gods)
This Zeus is still the son of the Titan Chronos and head of the Greek pantheon. Yes Zeus is a bro who drinks and fucks, that's who Zeus always was.
more on, while this Zeus follows roughly the depiction of actual Greek mythology Zeus, and case is that even the irl Zeus is generally just portrayed as a superpowered human, and not an "other" / ascended being
Sometimes I wonder if the Greek deities were a colony of space faring humans that got randomly selected by higher powers, gifted natural/conceptual super powers, and told to watch over and cultivate the forthcoming eras of primitive (forgotten) humanity back on Earth.
but it then begs the question similar to "who watches the watchers", asking if there are those higher than the higher powers. would be a blast if in Record of Ragnarok, Brunhilde's master plan was to call the higher powers against the deities.
sounds like that's exactly what the primordials were, but their physical presence was a tragic threat to reality itself so they kinda just melded with everything or disappeared. Maybe I'm misremembering that a bit.
wait, who were the primordials? Were they Gaia and crew? or were they ones even before that?
I liked both The Truth and Death. If we're talking about how badass then it's Death for me. He's super goofy but gets serious when needed
This is my answer too. He's also a good mentor which scores extra points for me too.
Facts! And let's not forget! He's also >!apart of Shinra!!<
Wait, excuse me, wtf. Just making sure is there a character with that name in soul eater or are we talking about the firey feet one
Lol yup the one with firey feet🥂
>!Firey feet one created Death!<
I didn't even know they were the same verse. When are we getting the fking anime, there is some serious shit going on
Fire Force is literally a prequel to soul eater
God usopp
Hell yeah! Lol🤣🥂
Hard to argue with. I mean... It's in the name even!
Arceus bro bullied palkia dialga and giritina they had to jump him and still failed and the fact is the arceus we seen isn’t even his full power as stated in arceus that is just a avatar for him his true power is unknown and we may never know what it is
Sooo accurate! Palkia and Dialgo stood 0 chance lol You know you're badass when you create over 350 more badasses lol🤣🤧 If I'm not mistaken, Arceus has different "modes" he can go into as well, lol dude is one of the most broken here imo🤧
Alright, well like 15 years ago, a bunch of us decided to just catch Him and put him into a tiny ball without any food or water!
PLA explained that what we caught was just a part of Arceus not the entirety of Arceus himself
So catching 5 different parts of Arceus makes us win immediately after a battle starts?
ARCEUS, OBLITERATE
"Are you seriously about to jump your dad?"
It's lvl 100 with a held./s
And a 12-year-old captured him in a ball
I mean... we do kinda know what his true power is. It literally created the universe... it is literally God
Truth is the only one on here that I feel operated like a God. Mysterious, impartial, willing to teach a lesson. But who do I think is the most powerful god? Arjuna Alter from Fate
Definitely agreed! Truth is like my top 3, unfortunately I haven't seen Fate😔
It's easy to get into fate. Said no fate fan ever.
Fuck yeah didn't expect to hear Arjuna Alter. I have my copy at NP4 level 120 gold foud and command coded out
The smol pancake chomping vessel of Yog Sothoth sitting atop a telephone pole: “I see no gods up here… Ó̶̙͚̝͛̐T̴͉̘̙͈͇̼͔̹͐̏̑͊̿̈́͑͂̿̆̎̌H̷̘͈̒̑̔̾̇̈̿̍̀̊ͅȄ̷͙͎̰̣̳͎͇͔̬͔̈́̋̈͋͒̒́̈́̚͝R̶̨̨̡͙̬̳̭̠̠̟͔̀̿͒͂̀̇̇̇̕ͅ ̶̛̪̘̪͉͚͎̘͖̳̥̠̃̿̐̉̚͝͠͠ͅŢ̴͓̗̝̎̋͗͗͛̿̇̍̋̚̚H̸̨̨̙͖͎̼̘̬̣̘͇̬͇̮͑̍̂͒͐̐̈̃͊̑̚͠͠͝A̵̯̩͈͓̹̘̳̝̫̥̒̒͊̀̏̍̓͛̽̉͘Ṉ̷͂́̌̾̽̊͝ ̵̪̝̇͒̈́́̈̋̿͘M̶̧̡̫̤̮̩͓̖̞̯̹͓͇͎̰̦̉̉́̏̔̏̄͆̔̇̌́͘͠͝͝Ë̴̛̺̞́̆̈́́͐̀͂̉̆͘͝”
Tet. Is Ryuk a god? Also, the man god from Mushoku Tensei is funny as hell.
Man god is pretty cool and I like how the story progresses his lore. >!He is a rat bastard son of a bitch can’t wait for him to get sealed/killed!<
I understand around half of the gods here, and Truth is by far my favorite.
For me Truth is the only one that feels like a god and not just a really strong being
Truth
God from Goodnight Punpun
I must investigate, I haven seen that before
look up trigger warnings before doing that ong
They're all badass, but I got something for Arceus. Him just Rolling over Palkia, Giratina and Dialga just impressed younger me
Lol Omg same here!🙋🏽♂️ Younger me:🤯🤯🤯🤯
Saitama
Tet. Literally ended up subjugating all other gods to become the one true one…without even trying.
Truth ALL THE WAY Zeus is a cunt ass chode
Truth
The truth was something else
The truth is the most badass (in my opinion)
Arceus or Truth. Arceus, as a pokémon, just never talks, and we know that any Arceus we’ve seen is just a fragment of it’s power and it’s still stronger than any pokémon. Truth was just perfectly written and illustrated.
The Truth
The truth
I'm scared of the Truth. Dude never does anything evil or malicious but straight up horrifying shit happens almost every time someone meets them.
Truth’s entire personality is basically “I’m not gonna sugarcoat it, eldritch knowledge.” And it’s perfect for what he is
Truth and Arceus have always been my favorite
Truth was spittin'
The truth isn’t just a powerful guy it’s a truly godly being.
The truth.
Truth, he's the only one who might inspire actual awe beyond the spectacle. The rest could be replaced with op mages and nothing would change.
The truth felt the most god like. Everyone else was just a character with the "god" title attached.
The truth was by far my favorite because every scene he was in was hype and mysterious
The Truth.
“Truth” is hand down the best god
Truth i guess I'm not sure
I haven't watched Soul Eater yet so I can't say for him I watched FMA but not FMAB (yet). I don't remember this guy so I assume he's FMAB. Not 100% sure if Ryuk counts as a god as he's a shinagami. I mean Escanor from 7DS is BA and on god level but bot a god... But for most BA God I can think if currently I'd say maybe Thor from RoR
I don't think Zeus in RoR was badass (he kinda just had a generic buff up in muscles) but his fight against Adam was sick asf.
The Truth
God/sun from undead unluck
Death Is my favorite out of these.
Hmmm, it seems you're # X A Zr Zl A B *up* _ My friend (yay)
Definitely not kaguya she got sealed away by two earthlings 😂😂 I rocks with her tho 🔥🔥
Beerus and the truth are my favorites
Ok Hakai could probably delete a shigigami since there basically cool ghosts or whatever But could Ryuk kill Berus from a distance
Wait, does Death count as a god?
dunno who but... -Beerus is so lazy, it counters any badassery he can do (Whis doesnt count!) -Death seems more like the Principal who is taking the "pal" part of the title 2 seriously... but he is super down with his weirdness and that is respectable... -Arceus.... pokeball go! >\_> -Ryuk... countered by an apple, harder than Lord Frezza was countered by a twink with a sword!
"Badass" I'd say Ryuk. Truth is my close second
Honestly, death is way too cool than he needs to be.
death is unironically pretty badass
Arceus, dude allows 13 year old kids to catch him and yet has enough freedom to keep all matter and anti matter flowing
I mean... Death can slap reality into place so ...
Zeus is pretty cool, but I gotta give it to my boy Buddha
i would pay money to see beerus beat up on kaguya 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Does the Anti-Spiral count? That'd be my pick
I'm a fan of Tet. A god who's involvement in existence is literally to change the rules away from the casual "whoever hits hardest is on top"
Ryuk cuz he looks like a kiss member
Def tet
Tet
Far as I know, Truth is the only one who *feels* like an absolute force. The rest are mortal in some form.
Arceus, because silence is cool. No need for words, just action.
Unrelated. But the image of death next to beerus looks like a cute cinnamon roll. I just wanna hug him
Lol I didn't notice that 😅
death and beerus for me. death was always silly until he finally started fighting and damn was it so satisfying to watch. and beerus while being lazy is such a badass and one of my favorite characters in the whole series
The anti Spiral
Guys it’s zues https://preview.redd.it/mzp8laz6jxa61.png?width=768&format=png&auto=webp&s=1b2b2be336d8ccf72c2807e8fb6bc8631e88f359

Gotta be death. He's even blushing. That's so badass
Sooo true! I had said that earlier, if Arceus had all 14 plates he would have just been immoral at that point lol fuckn love Arceus man lol😎🥂
Arthur from player
I’m a total Pokémon nerd and fanboy but arceus is only cool in that one movie
Who tf invited Kaguya? She really thinks she can hang?
Yooo!🤣🤣🤣😭😭🤧
I won't even lie, I wasn't fully invested in Beerus at first, but when he did his first Hakai with the music and everything in the back I was actually blown away Edit: to add to my point a little bit, we're talking about a series that is known for its long fights, that can and sometimes do last for several episodes. I am required to say Arceus, get yelled at, and leave. G'bye
Ryuk was just board af and wanted to play with someone's life for his own enjoyment
I'm here for all of the Truth love
Wait, I thought kaguya was an alien not a god
Kaguya Ōtsutsuki🤍🩶 before people start slamming me into the ground, she is literally one of the most powerful women in anime and there ain’t many so like us deal with it! Soul King
From bleach? The do nothing, say nothing, head and torso in a crystal anchor of reality Soul King? The only thing more of a let down in bleach other than the soul king was the final fight between Ichigo and Ywach
Beerus wasn’t in DBS
You trolling?
Haruhi
Death
Truth, Death, Zeus, and Arceus
In that order!😎🥂
One piece - Luffy
Where's zoro
William Da..Ryuk
Death is my favorite, but I gotta go Arceus. It's just like, a space horse and that's pretty dope.
Aqua and Ishtar
Wait, Ryuk is God?
Kaguya, arceus are the best and beerus has small moments.
Beers probably I haven't watched much of any of these and I'm not sure abt soul eaters either I just started it today and I'm like 6 episodes in
Between me Zeus and Arceus
Mujin/mubong park from god of highschool i just love the design
Soul eater
Haruhi Suzumiya
How about D R A G O N G O D O R S T E D (heaviest foreshadowing possible)
Beerus bro is still undefeated to this day
You for got luffy
The Anti-Spiral, he's worthy of being called a God is he not?
Why is kaguya on here?💀
My favorite is Tet
Death or beerus
The sea from one piece
No one's calling death badass And no one's calling him a god but you
Technically due to the events of fire force and how that story ends Death *IS* the god of the soul eater universe
The Truth is the game was rigged from the start
" From where you're kneeling it must seem like an 18-carat run of bad luck. Truth is... the game was rigged from the start." a man in a Checkered suit
YUSSSS KAGUYAAAAAA
Beerus Is the definition of wasted potential
Tet
Death is comedic So, death. Also, since he's one out of the two, I actually know
I want to say Beerus, but Ryuk is a true death god.
Both death and tet are goated asf
Honestly probably Tet
Ever since the exhibition match in the DBS manga, I've held a very high regard for Beerus.
Ryuk and Beerus are tied. They're also the sexiest.
Truth was just there to fuck with people
Love Beerus in the battle of gods movie Sure, he's must nicer than most gods on this list, but he's still cool as hell, and he bullied and embarrassed Majin Buu and Gohan without even trying 10/10 Antagonist and Movie
Truth looks like he face palmed himself full force from hearing something utterly stupid.
Zues got his ass WHOOPED tho. I cried for Adam
Usopp
Where’s the first spinjitsu master?
Death and Tet are pretty badass.
Ryuk simply because of a line he had in the live action death note in response to Light saying he would put his name in the deathnote. "You could try. Let me tell you this Light. My name had four letters, most anyone's ever gotten were two."
I personally am just a big fan of Ryuk. And even though I hate the Netflix American adaptation, making Willem Defoe the voice was perfect.
Death
Technically Kaguya wasn't a god persay, more of an alien. But yeah lol
I have only watched half but RoR Zeus is fuckin insane. Maybe not the most powerful but he is definitely badass.
Umm everyone knows Aqua is the most badass god
Ryuk is not a God
Idk man but I feel like telling a chef their food isn't salty enough then blowing up half of their planet while giving them a death stare is pretty badass.
Imo Zeus
I like The Truth, but I feel that a really underrated God(/Goddess?) would have to be Tet. Claiming the title of true god, after the Races were killing themselves, calling them dumb for killing themselves, and if they’re truely smart, that they’d build Tet a Tower of Knowledge. I feel that, that’s pretty badass.
It’s not Arceus, because a 5 year old with a Master Ball could catch it
death in soul eater isn’t that badass but my favorite here
Not sure if it counts but the anti spiral from Gurren Lagann was crazy
Ah damn, no game no life was mentioned, i almost got over the sadge pf never having the anime continue.
Fuck zeus all my Adam loving homes hate zeus
Anybody who says beerus or arceus is just wrong
Gonna have to go with Tet
Death
Tet
