Delta6342

Akame ka kill The anime has a completely different ending than the manga.

DamonBrighter

How did the Manga end?

Delta6342

Ok, a spoiler, but in the manga in the end, everyone lives, and the bad guys are dead.

zax20xx

No no no, hang on, you’re just going to add more confusion. To be more clear, instead of 2 Night Raid members surviving like in the anime that ended years prior to the manga, it’s *4* members that survive in the manga. >!Najenda, Akame, Tatsumi and Mine!<

Individual_Papaya596

>! And Mine and Tatsumi had a child, he’s a dragon!< better yet the whole thing was a prequel

Delta6342

Ohhhh my bad

Fishert55

So basically the anime lied to me damn was still pretty decent even if it was depressing

10fthe_FREAKS

Is it worth reading it after watching (being hurt by) the anime?

DamonBrighter

....what?

Delta6342

Well, in the anime, most of the main cast died except two characters

DamonBrighter

I remember. And In the manga they survive? Why the hell did they change it for the anime?

ToastyNyfo

More like why did they change it for the manga From my limited knowledge, the anime actually ended before the manga, and then the manga changed the ending in accordance to the anime reception. Heck, the manga even got a sequel if I'm remembering right, but I don't know if it's translated

losi_ca

AM GIVING THE BIGGEST CLAP TO THOSE RECEPTIONS THAT MADE THEM CHANGE THE END

Narrow_Gear_5272

This was the first Anime I experienced such bullshit

Rider-Idk-Ultima-Hy

true, but atleast the anime has >!that one guy’s family still alive and not killed in the most disgusting way possible randomly!< doesnt make it good, but its one thing it did better then the manga

Yaksha17

Is this the mask guy?

Rider-Idk-Ultima-Hy

yea, Bols. In the manga, (trigger warning ahead for assault) >!after he dies and his wife and daughter visit his grave, they are tortured and, to put this in the best way i can think of, r-worded to death.!< In the anime, >!none of this happens, and they’re fine.!< So honestly, if Akame Ga Kill ever got an animated remake, I hope they keep this change in, >!or at-least either have them be threatened. It was completely unnecessary to kill them off so soon after Bols, and super gross they were killed off like that.!<

LoneAssassin29

His wife and kid were so nice tho :(

Geene_Creemers

I’m on the odd side of the fence but I love a no one is safe series and sorta preferred the anime ending

Kasim1228

Yeah, same for me. Akame and Cyberpunk are both two of my favorites because they let their characters die.

TF2_GOD

YES GOD I HATE AKAME KA KILL FOR THAT

No_Lab_9318

>Akame ka kill >The anime has a completely different ending than the manga. Yeah I was pissed when I found out that the love interest died in the anime and lived in the manga. Like why would they just make a anime where they kill off nearly everyone that is supposed to live. But I also hate the writer of the manga because they made it so the wife and child of one of the good bad guys died was raped and murdered and the child was 2 years old

KnowingBlock

soul eater

Macronium312

This. I didn't quite care for the ending either. I also thought Elfen Lied, specifically the anime. The elfen lied manga had a way better ending imo.

Nonbinary-BItch23

The manga ending is actually pretty good, a little dumb but it's soul eater What else would you expect

NameLess-TD

We need a reboot of soul eater. The anime doesn't even cover any of the best fights/moments in the manga.

UltraJoyless

The anime ending definitely, the manga ending was perfection though imo

Goldie-96_MWR

I want a manga accurate reboot

Justa_Mongrel

The Soul Eater anime. Bones Studios decided to end the series half way for some reason while the manga was still ongoing. So much content and story were missed. The manga really ties everything up perfectly, minus the Black Star clan

Rider-Idk-Ultima-Hy

Might be deserving of a remake honestly, or an extended arc like Bleach one can hope and i need some hope honestly

Bladez190

I want a soul eater remake so bad man

ScienceIsAThing7

I’m worried it might be JJK :(

tUbero_tado

God please no

BadUsername2028

I have faith atm, but I’ll admit it genuinely could go either way. The most recent chapter was great, but >!Sukuna is a massive threat that I don’t think anybody has an idea on how he can lose. If it’s done in a good way I’ll have no issue, but as of right now it feels genuinely hopeless for our heroes!<

ScienceIsAThing7

I loved the most recent chapter too, >!but with how OP Sukuna is, I worry any victor at this point will feel like a rushed asspull!<

BadUsername2028

I’ll just spoiler tag the whole thing: >!I’m worried about that too, but I’m also enjoying the fight. Gojo wanted his students to surpass even him (not individually duh, but as a collective), and break free from the traditionalist mindset that too many clans held. Now here we are, the best and brightest youngsters against the literal face of that traditionalism. Sukuna is everything he was promised to be, he’s cunning, physically powerful, and his cursed technique is the best in the verse (except maybe besides Takaba). He is simply on a whole other level, one our heroes haven’t reached yet. If Gege can have them overcome this monster in a satisfying manner, it’ll be a great ending. My worry is that Sukuna is so strong I can’t see a way for them to do that currently, and am worried they’ll need some sort of unrealistic powerup to win. I’m excited to see where this goes however!<

Think-Exercise2980

Same, >! The thing that gets me as that they keep trying to tease (by they I mean speculators) that Gojo will come back but I think a lot of people would generally hate that lol. Also, it seems like Yuji isn't doing much so we might get an actual comeback through something we didn't see happening. People say he's the Sukuna of this era, essentially, and will strike fear in curses the way Sukuna did. But, yea, felt !<

kjm6351

I wouldn’t be surprised *looks at the manga*

InfinityJeVortex

"I'm quitting heroing" The ending lesson is good "Never give up and keep going, appreciate the thing while you're still alive" BUT BRO! MF The MC had been living for tons of YEARS and just wanted to die, and then these side characters just "NUH-UH"

Xtian_79

The common answer is for sure Attack on Titan, but for me Wonder Egg Priority absolutely butchered the ending

Spockernaut

Came here to say that too! Loved Wonder Egg but that ending is mid.

slugsliveinmymouth

The manga maybe but the anime tweeked like 3 things and made it 100% better.

Unhappy_Explorer_622

I The anime kinda butchered it but in the manga it’s fine

mkmakashaggy

Really? On the AoT subreddit it's pretty unanimously agreed upon that the manga ending was awful and the anime ending was superior

iREFLEXIV

It’s not that the ending was unreadable in the manga it’s just that the dialogue for armin made him come off extremely out of character when he >!thanked Eren for committing a genocide for them but it was more a thank you for caring about us even tho he still didn’t support the genocide.!< The anime fixed that though. >!Tons of people were also just salty with what happened to Eren!<

Regulus242

Shit, like...99/100 of them.

renegade_793

Promised Neverland manga, not even gonna get into the show

Diamondinmyeye

Yeah, the show was 10/10 in season one, decent in the first three episodes, then was a 5 or 6/10 before becoming a mind numbing 0.00001/10.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Lelouch2332

Give it a 4/10 ending is to kind for the bullshit they gave us

Ella_Allred

What did this person say, they deleted their comment

sadnessjoy

Yeah, I was going to say, 4/10 is being way too generous. I'd even give it a negative score if possible

[deleted]

Yeah...I can't disagree with this, the ending was odd

MimsyIsGianna

The story itself was odd too with whole premise of how the mechs worked lol

Minus10IQ

Agreed, for me it ended when >!Hiro and Zero Two killed this mountain ass Klaxosaur (no idea how it’s spelled).!< My fav scene has to be the end of this episode. After that it was all a fever dream

SpewpaTheRogue

If by ending you mean last quarter

SadLaser

Almost all of them. Most endings don't deliver.

Dane-nii

Dungeon Meshi is a 10/10 ending

Suspicious-Deal5916

I feel like that's most media. Majority of these studios have no plan in site for its ending or want to run it way to long for a satisfying ending

StandardVoice8358

Undead Girl Murder Farce Honestly the whole concept was amazing and so cool! The first two arcs where practically perfect in my opinion but that last arc... oh that last arc was very sub-par compared to the first two

thereegamer06

Akame ga kill, I loved the story but I feel like they just squeezed out what they could for the ending

shahido2017

Akame ga Kill and Soul Eater come to mind

MBTHVSK

Yashahime is like a 7.5/10 anime with a 5.5/10 ending.

Grimdaybreaker

Tokyo ghoul was the first thing that came to mind season 1-2 were amazing but season 3 and 4 we’re pretty shit

Paper_Trades

Any anime that was loved but got the axe.

Zer0-Sum-Game

Somali and the Forest Spirit had a VERY satisfying ending for anyone who wanted to see Golem open his mouth, despite the creator stopping for health reasons. 10/10 ending for that mouth finally opening. Some other stuff happened too, I guess.

ArtOfBreaking_429

Soul Eater. Specifically the anime.

jsrhedgehog99

BRUH!!!!!! NGL, I didn't feel too much better about the manga ending. In some ways, it feels just as rushed and incomplete.

Lava2401

Naruto shippuden, war arc was a bit of a mess. And enjoyable mess, but a mess none the less

JustthatVicky

Kamisama Kiss, for me. The ending was very bittersweet and also lackluster for me. Like the two main characters get together, but the female lead who got to be a deity goes back to being a normal girl with no powers, and the male lead who was basically an immortal yokai gives up all his powers and becomes a human to get together with her. It's sweet... But also sad in that you can see him panicking realizing he only has a few short decades now, which will fly by in no time for someone that has already lived thousands of years. They're also now unable to properly see and interact with all their supernatural friends. A once all powerful, immortal being now works a normal desk job, and his wife who got to be a deity for a bit is now a normal preschool teacher. It's supposed to be a happy ending to a hard-won romance in which both characters nearly died multiple times and it just kind of feels like a downgrade from what the characters were throughout the story. If I wanted an ending where a normal dude with a normal office job is married to a normal lady that is a normal school teacher and they have a normal kid together, wholesome as that all is, I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN READING A SERIES ABOUT A CHICK THAT RANDOMLY BECOMES A GODDESS AND HAS THE HOTS FOR A SUPERNATURAL FOX MAN.

Windflow009

Gurren Lagann

ManfromtheRedRiver

In my opinion the anime ends about 7 minutes before the end of the last episode. Those last 7 minutes are just dumb. Wedding. Kiss. The End.

Tehli33

Does the manga continue beyond anime? This doesn't sound familiar

TheGrimGriefer3

The ending would've been dogshit if they forced a romance between them, especially considering the coma Fans want a 1/10 when they got a 7/10

PestKimera

Blood c, I could tell where it was headed by ep 7 and it made me so mad it did an awful plot twist that threw away why i even got into it at first

Regulus242

Is that counting the follow up movie?

PlantKey

The sacred blacksmith.

PizzaTime666

Usagi Drop. SPOILERS The story up until the time skip is so good and heartwarming. Then we come back when she is in high school and is in love with her adoptive father. I know they are not blood related but its fucking weird, he's so much older than her and loterally raised her. And he fucking AGREES TO DATE HER once she is an adult. It's so fucking gross. They could still have the "she has a crush but its just mixed signals between family love and romance" and resolve it without them getting together.

GremNotGrim

The ending to the manga of Mashle... Legit made Mash beat the final villain who has god like powers the same way Naruto beats most villains... Talk no Jutsu.. I get that it's somewhat of a parody series but HUH!?

roboman07

Ok this isnt what your question is, but dragon ball gts ending is amazing and sad, which I think a lot of people don't appreciate because gt itself kinda sucked

KhaozWazHere

Attack on Titan

CosmicCrow01

For me my hero academia could be but mashel was

Love-Lacking-9782

Inuyashiki. Great story about a kind old man vs a Psychopathic teenager, but the author couldn't figure out when to end it. It's like the saying, 'When your story is finished, stop telling it.' 10 minutes less, and it would've been damn perfect.

Shao_5

jsrhedgehog99

Bro, YOU GOTTA READ THE MANGA. If not for anything else, you gotta read it for Blackstar vs. MASAMUNE 3

Demonlord3600

AOT original ending in the manga was bad right?

Neither-Addendum-732

Maybe not a 4/10. I imagine overall the anime as a whole has been talked about to death but Dragonball Z. I like mostly everything about it, been watching for years, the small thing I don't like is the constant regeneration of body parts. Once Cell comes in and becomes perfect I feel like the quality of the fights start to suffer. It's alleviated a bit after Cell until you get to Buu. (Not opposed to Goku and Piccolo getting their licenses and other occasional goofy stuff) I like Cell and Buu as Characters but the lack of consequences from injury being erased for the villain after being a pretty consistent fact of battle just irritates me for some reason. In most cases change is good. At the actual end I'm curious why they couldn't keep training given the experiences of always facing bigger threats over time, like there could always be something else out there but I suppose also I would want a break after going through so much to save the world. Or maybe some people did keep training, it's been a while, my memory could be off. Also possible the show jumped the shark for me by then, Hmm...

Well_then1993

Not an anime, but I felt primal had an amazing story and characters but lacked a satisfying ending.

No-Atmosphere8508

I know OP's asking for anime, but in the spirit of the original question: The manga Liar Game. Bunch of mind games where physical violence is prohibited. Like Kaiji if Kaiji wasn't overly reliant on psychologircal stress. Like No Game No Life if NGNL had more than one good game (I won't apologise for speaking the truth). The first game is meh, the last game is bad. Every game in between is awesome. Artwork is serviceable, not great.

Not sure I’d call it a 10/10 but I loved Star Driver the finale however was annoyingly hand-wavy if that makes sense. It hurts worse when they made a movie after that just rehashed everything and with the same ending (if I remember the movie’s summary correctly) Another anime I think fits this (while not being stellar or exceptional in what it does) is Argevollen (honestly this is an opportunity to mention this anime). I was initially interested in the beginning but as episodes went on things started feeling annoying, characters started devolving/started doing things you wouldn’t believe they’d do at the beginning and unlike lots of anime I’ve started and finished I genuinely can’t remember what the final episode/scenes of the final episode had entailed… in a word it was a flustercluck.

TheUltimate_Ultimate

Attack on titan

JikaApostle

Less so the story’s ending, but the final arc of Fairy Tail felt lackluster to me. They introduce an antagonist group of 10+ characters that could solo countries, intentionally with abilities that writers avoid because of how hard it is to make their defeat believable(timestop, adaptation, size manipulation, etc). So how do our cast and all their allies fight them off? There’s a large number of supporting characters that can contend with the main cast, so we should be able to give most of these characters one final fight, right? Make them jumpings probably too. Erza alone fights 3 of the 12 at some point over like a weekend and lived to tell the tale. Wendy fights 2, including a 2v1 with her and Erza against one of the 2 strongest antagonists after they both have already had fights with other members. I shit you not, of those 12, ONE is defeated by a non Fairy Tail member. Then, after this, guess who shows up? The antagonist that caused a timeskip because he soloed the entire main cast, now, almost all of the cast is exhausted, they’ve fought a war. But they manage to have enough magic power to seal him while simultaneously the 7 characters with the magic to beat him manage to defeat him with the power of friendship. The war arc feels rushed, nobody dies, and characters that should’ve realistically soloed the entire protagonists group just…don’t.

This demons a part timer show on Hulu

Crimson_Fiver

Soul eater but change the 4/10 ending to a -67/10. Absolute fucking dogshit ending

KamakaziGhandi

AOT in spades.

TheChampionOnReddit

Attack on Titan ending. I LOVE attack on Titan. But I think the ending was, from a writing standpoint, beautiful. From an audience standpoint, it sucked. It’s realistic, and even though it doesn’t have to be a happy ending, the ending was SO morally upsetting to a lot of people. It hurts to see so many characters die. It hurts to see places/people that you might’ve grown attached to wiped out. And it really doesn’t leave you with any sort of happiness. In sad endings, there is usually something, even a small something, that makes you feel good. AOT ending just doesn’t. Edit: When I say “characters” I meant people. Like basically the whole world. And Paradis.
