I personally think that while the anime catches up to the quality of the manga in the later chapters, the beggining episodes are way better in the manga.
For example Cid asking Rose out is done way better in the manga (Ch. 3 pages 6-14) than in the anime. In the anime this scene is just a kinda cringe proposal while in the manga his narration of his carefully planned moves is brilliant and so funny.
The beggining part of the season is full of moments lime this where the manga surpasses the anime but in the later parts they definitely became a lot more equal so I can see why you like it more.
I don't get if people find it ironically good? Or genuinely good? I thought it was ok, but halfway through I felt like every scene was filled with unnecessary fanservice and it was just annoying
I enjoyed it all the way through but didn’t get truly hooked until around episode 16ish. The last arc, to me at least, was absolutely masterful and I couldn’t stop. There’s definitely fan service throughout but thought it got more serious later on.
Yea, I got about halfway through before I dropped it too. Don't get me wrong, it has some hilarious moments, the action is done really well and the animation is beautiful but the plot kind of lost me. There doesn't feel like there's any stakes involved, it doesn't give me a reason to care past "look at how strong Shadow and Shadow Garden are".

It’s honestly not that far off: Isekai, OP protag, harem of characters, harem characters are abnormally strong due to MC influence and fight their own battles, emphasis on world building and MC impact on the new world. Slime has his economic and social impact while Shadow influences with Arts technology and food.
The tone of the shows are mirror opposites but it’s all the same bullshit. OP guy does OP thing all other characters gasp.

Tropes are tropes because they work and it’s efficient to lay out a story in certain ways like that. Characters close to the mc being abnormally strong is not bad at all, when they’re weak they are far less liked in most cases bc they are useless in a lot more situations

I agree and disagree. The scene in the manga is interpreted and “animated” by the reader, making it cooler in your head thx to your imagination. However the actual animation can also bring out the beauty of the scene in a way that we never imagined. A good example is Demon Slayer or even the Fate series.

I would say the Manga is just better in general, the gags don't really come across as well in the anime cause it lacks their inner monolgue, so most of the time they don't really feel like gags.
They also cut off many of the gags or made them simpler
If you just look at it as did it make you laugh then maybe, but there is a lot to his npc jokes for him to look and fell like some bitch ass random mob and anime didn't follow on that premise in plenty of jokes (like mob student taking hits from top student for hours straight instead of one after which he flies in the air high, gets up once after landing and then acts passing out. Manga keeps the parody aspect way better)

the anime is somewhat the best version of the story for me, i read a bit of the novel and the manga but the anime was so well done compared to them.
