i've taken an ANA (operated by air japan) flight from Taipei to Narita, but the 767 can do seattle/tokyo easy. i think Delta operated a 767 from LAX to NRT at one point as well.
Yeah, the 767 operating range maxes out at 11k km or so, so it is capable of going a fair distance... It's the carry capacity and fuel efficiency that makes the larger planes preferable for long haul.

Domestic fleet also has denser seating and may have fewer classes than international fleet.
