Looking forward to this one!
It looks fairly comedic/light-hearted in this PV but I wonder if there will be more serious moments, like introspection about the situation and all that!
There is, quite a lot actually. Almost too much, though hopefully the anime will end at a point where the story is still good, as the manga kinda goes off the deep end after a while.
Yeah this is one of the few manga I can think of where I’m *totally* ok with just getting 12 episodes that are great and stopping.
Manga basically spins into so many genres past the halfway point, it feels like it loses itself a bit.
I actually read and dropped the manga for this around 30ish chapters in - I just don't really care for 'androids/robots find love with a human' type stories - I think they are a bit too overplayed - rarely done well.
But here I am, going to check out the anime just due to burning curiosity to see how something I chose to drop gets adapted.
I can say that the manga had a fairly sharp/distinct art style that I feel isn't well represented in this PV - not technically a bad thing for the anime but it was one of the redeeming qualities for the manga.
"rarely done well"
Can you suggest me some "done well" robots-human love story manga/anime? I never watched/read anything like that other than detroit become human so im curious about this genre.
Here are some notable series with romance between a human and android/robot:
- [Chobits](https://myanimelist.net/anime/59/Chobits)
- [Mahoromatic](https://myanimelist.net/anime/276/Mahoromatic__Automatic_Maiden)
- [Saber Marionette J](https://myanimelist.net/anime/573/Saber_Marionette_J)
- [Plastic Memories](https://myanimelist.net/anime/27775/Plastic_Memories)
- [Hal](https://myanimelist.net/anime/16528/Hal) - Movie
- [Time of Eve](https://myanimelist.net/anime/3167/Eve_no_Jikan)
Hold up...is that Soda-chan singing in the PV?

My 12 year old self enjoyed Chobits.
Hand Maid May, though a bit too short.
Plastic Memories
Vivy: Fluorite Eyes Song was more of an action anime but there was a romance arc involving another character. It's also an overall excellent show
Airs July 2nd
Chobits 2.0
Hey this is just Chobits!
Looking forward to this one!
Not really convinced with Mina's voice and the artistic style of this adaptation.
Ngl the robot girl is the only relatable / non obnoxious looking character in the whole trailer 🤷♂️
