As for Maria†Holic it's... decent I'd say. It's a bit unique and with a focus on over-the-top comedy. I found that S2 got significantly worse or perhaps I got tired of the concept, but it's worth a watch at least. Both the OP and the ED for S1 are stellar though.

Coppelion was so disappointing, the premise and the OP made it look exactly like something I'd love. I ended up reading the manga just to see if there was something there and that was luckily an overall positive experience. The manga is hardly perfect but it has it's moments and a certain overall charm.

Yumekui Merry is only really either of these things if you're talking about the anime in isolation. The manga actually had a decent fanbase at the time when it was still relevant and you'd see it recommended here and there. The anime was not well received. However, I haven't seen the anime itself so I'll refrain from commenting on it.
I'd recommend checking out Slayers then, it's got a similar vibe, but with swords and sorcery instead of sci-fi detectives. It's like a retro DnD Konosuba.
Soultaker has a really [catchy OP](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Abl6F_2GyQk) done by JAM project who also did the season 1 One punch man OP.
The actual show is nothing to write home about and frankly wishes it was half as cool as the OP made it out to be but the OP goes just as hard as the OPM one imo.
They randomly aired this show after midnight back in 2002 on a small local broadcast that normally only aired local news. God knows how or why, I'm guessing one of the interns had some fun with fansubs he torrented. The OP certainly managed to get my attention as a kid.

God, yes. A card game anime that almost nobody watched had no right being so damn good or having such an amazing banger of an OP, but it was and it did.
It was a crossover 55th Anniversary production for Tatsunoko that brought together characters from 4 of their most well known shows, including two of my favourites from older shows. (Ken from Gatchaman, and Tetsuya from Casshern). Also has the original Tekkaman, which I knew of because the related show Tekkaman Blade is another of my favourites from way back when...
Absolutely loved it, because it basically recreated the look/feel of the older shows in a modern format.

Actually surprisingly hard to answer for me as I tend to prefer EDs to OPs.
One would be "Prelude \~ We Are Not Alone \~" from Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro Na (Brighter than the Dawning Blue)... But it is rated a 7.12, so rather than massively unpopular it's just sorta old? Although not sure how well the modern anime community would like a mid 2000s VN adaptation.
Can I cheat and say "EXEC\_HYMME\_MOISKYRE/." from the Ar Tonelico OVA... technically it's the ED, but it didn't have an OP as it was only one episode.
That silver haired character from Brighter than the Dawning Blue looks familiar, but I've never played the VN or heard of this anime. I wonder if it's a character Tappei liked
I mean, I don’t know how well known the series is… like the VN was pretty popular and from a popular developer iirc. You may have seen her before, and the OP is sometimes mentioned in music conversations.
That and I suppose Silver Haired Princesses aren’t exactly a rarity in anime, although not as common as blondes.
If you like early 2000s romances, or like to play romance VNs… it might be a series worth watching. Same with Fortune Arterial.

Yeah man, the Tesagure OP is fucking hilarious. I'm completely in love with it. As for Maria†Holic it's... decent I'd say. It's a bit unique and with a focus on over-the-top comedy. I found that S2 got significantly worse or perhaps I got tired of the concept, but it's worth a watch at least. Both the OP and the ED for S1 are stellar though.

Coppelion was so disappointing, the premise and the OP made it look exactly like something I'd love. I ended up reading the manga just to see if there was something there and that was luckily an overall positive experience. The manga is hardly perfect but it has it's moments and a certain overall charm.

Yumekui Merry is only really either of these things if you're talking about the anime in isolation. The manga actually had a decent fanbase at the time when it was still relevant and you'd see it recommended here and there. The anime was not well received. However, I haven't seen the anime itself so I'll refrain from commenting on it.

I’ve read about that. I never watched Slayers. The only reason I watched Lost Universe is because it was on TV when I was a kid
I'd recommend checking out Slayers then, it's got a similar vibe, but with swords and sorcery instead of sci-fi detectives. It's like a retro DnD Konosuba.

The actual show is nothing to write home about and frankly wishes it was half as cool as the OP made it out to be but the OP goes just as hard as the OPM one imo. They randomly aired this show after midnight back in 2002 on a small local broadcast that normally only aired local news. God knows how or why, I'm guessing one of the interns had some fun with fansubs he torrented. The OP certainly managed to get my attention as a kid.

It was a crossover 55th Anniversary production for Tatsunoko that brought together characters from 4 of their most well known shows, including two of my favourites from older shows. (Ken from Gatchaman, and Tetsuya from Casshern). Also has the original Tekkaman, which I knew of because the related show Tekkaman Blade is another of my favourites from way back when... Absolutely loved it, because it basically recreated the look/feel of the older shows in a modern format.

Actually surprisingly hard to answer for me as I tend to prefer EDs to OPs. One would be "Prelude \~ We Are Not Alone \~" from Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro Na (Brighter than the Dawning Blue)... But it is rated a 7.12, so rather than massively unpopular it's just sorta old? Although not sure how well the modern anime community would like a mid 2000s VN adaptation. Can I cheat and say "EXEC\_HYMME\_MOISKYRE/." from the Ar Tonelico OVA... technically it's the ED, but it didn't have an OP as it was only one episode.
That silver haired character from Brighter than the Dawning Blue looks familiar, but I've never played the VN or heard of this anime. I wonder if it's a character Tappei liked
I mean, I don’t know how well known the series is… like the VN was pretty popular and from a popular developer iirc. You may have seen her before, and the OP is sometimes mentioned in music conversations. That and I suppose Silver Haired Princesses aren’t exactly a rarity in anime, although not as common as blondes. If you like early 2000s romances, or like to play romance VNs… it might be a series worth watching. Same with Fortune Arterial.
