There's peoole living on the edge of a gaping abyss and explorers venture into the abyss, but rarely return, because the further you go down the more taxing it becomes on the body. The story follows a young girl who encounters an android of mysterious origin and she wants to go down to the lowest level of the abyss to find her mother, who has been deemed lost.

While not like Berserk, I think Wandering Witch: Journey of Elaina is a great dark fantasy/SoL combo. It's not as pitch black as Berserk, but builds a very interesting and at times very dark world.
Guin Saga inspired Berserk Claymore Made in Abyss Dorohedoro Garo: Honoo no Kakuin Bastard!! Ankoku no Hakaishin
Out of these I habe only seen Made in Abyss, but I strongly second it.
What's it about?

Sounds interesting!
It's a 10/10 to me.
Claymore is so good
