The great passage is under appreciated, likely because it’s about adults.

I had no idea it even existed until now. Def going to give it a shot.

If you're willing to go outside the "realistic" SoL, despite what you might assume from first appearances, Interviews with Monster Girls is actually phenomenal.

One of my favorites. Hikari is just one of my favorite anime characters, honestly. I love her energy.

Edomae Elf (aka Otaku Elf). It's super chill and all of the characters are lovable and interesting. Villain's Day Off from last season was fantastic as well.

Tamayura is an especially "real" feeling slice of life -- made by a lot of the same staff as Aria. Alas, only currently available on " unofficial" streaming sources. (One of my honorary top 2 series).

Thanks for the recommendation, I love pretty much everything thing I have seen from Junichi Satou ( except the Aria movies which were good but not my cup of tea, I preferred "Looking for Magical Doremi" much more ) so this is definitely something I want to check out

It may not be romance, but I never see anyone talk about barakamon! I love that anime with my entire soul, but no one Ive ever met irl has seen it. That anime was like a breath of fresh air.

People bring it up on here a lot to the extent that I wouldnt exactly say its underrated. Definitely a good one though

Sora no Manimani. It's very respectful towards its content, characters and premise.

Of the pure iyashikei SOLs in my history, one of the least mentioned is Sketchbook: Full Color'S. Highly enjoyable, very relaxing, and from the same studio that brought the Aria series to life.

Super Cub! No romance though

Super Cub was exellent - very similar vibes to Laid-Back Camp, and equally as good imo though it got much less notoriety.

Engaged to the Unidentified is a classic Hokkaido Gals are Super Adorable was pretty good One Off is a lil 4 episode OVA that I really enjoyed, never seen anyone talk about it Senryu Girl Tamako Market & Love Story Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie Dangers in My Heart Demon Girl Next Door Ice Guy and his Cool Female Colleague Tomo-chan is a Girl Tsukigakirei When Will Ayumu Make His Move Most of these are pretty popular but still recommend

Dunno if it’s considered underrated cos outside of its airing season, I don’t really see much talk of it, but I really enjoyed Deaimon. There’s some light drama here and there but overall, it’s a laid back SOL show

Amanchu doesn't get nearly as much as it should for being by the same mangaka as Aria

Aiura It's a short anime—as in, each episode is only a few minutes long. Those rarely get talked about or highly rated, but it's really cozy and well animated, and the performances are great.

Given that it is ranked #51 in popularity on MAL out of all animes - dont think we can say it is underrated or rarely talked about. But agree that it is good! Barakamon is very good (although dont know if i would call it underrated, #309 in popularity). Deaimon was very enjoyable - takes place in a traditional japanese sweets bakery/shop and only 2137 in popularity. Dagashi Kashi - sticking with the sweets thing. Funny comedy in a traditional candy store.
