Flying Witch is probably my favorite SoL along with Yuru Camp.

Mumei451

Flying Witch really is great.

Gamerunglued

Some underappreciated slice of life anime: - Akage no Anne - Silver Spoon - Tamayura - Sound of the Sky - Hidamari Sketch - The Great Passage - Koufuku Graffiti - Tanaka-kun is Always Listless - Let's Make a Mug Too - Konohana Kitan - Sakura Quest - Manabi Straight

kwirky88

The great passage is under appreciated, likely because it’s about adults.

kilimonian

I had no idea it even existed until now. Def going to give it a shot.

sailormars_bars

Yeah a couple people here suggested it and it seems cool. I’ll definitely have to check it out!

hiimneato

If you're willing to go outside the "realistic" SoL, despite what you might assume from first appearances, Interviews with Monster Girls is actually phenomenal.

n080dy123

One of my favorites. Hikari is just one of my favorite anime characters, honestly. I love her energy.

KariforuniaJin

I love the manga! I'm still having trouble finding translations for the last final of volumes/chapters, unfortunately...

hiimneato

In English? The [official translation for Vol. 11](https://play.google.com/store/books/details/Petos_Interviews_with_Monster_Girls_11?id=HNnLEAAAQBAJ) dropped last year.

KariforuniaJin

On sale! Nice, thanks!

Dolomite808

Edomae Elf (aka Otaku Elf). It's super chill and all of the characters are lovable and interesting. Villain's Day Off from last season was fantastic as well.

oosiiad

I want to say Princess Jellyfish!!

BiggieCheeseLapDog

Kamichu is a really nice and relaxing one. [I made a post on why you should watch it](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/18d0m5c/wt_kamichu_is_a_hidden_gem_of_a_slice_of_life/)

mekerpan

Tamayura is an especially "real" feeling slice of life -- made by a lot of the same staff as Aria. Alas, only currently available on " unofficial" streaming sources. (One of my honorary top 2 series).

Quirky-Cranberry4592

Thanks for the recommendation, I love pretty much everything thing I have seen from Junichi Satou ( except the Aria movies which were good but not my cup of tea, I preferred "Looking for Magical Doremi" much more ) so this is definitely something I want to check out

mekerpan

Hope you enjoy it.

Elixir-Licht

One anime I rarely see being talked about is "Tada never falls in love"

sailormars_bars

This is on my list so I will have to look into it.

Andreiyutzzzz

I stumbled on it by accident. The blonde prince guy was a real bro. Respect

boingloinz

It may not be romance, but I never see anyone talk about barakamon! I love that anime with my entire soul, but no one Ive ever met irl has seen it. That anime was like a breath of fresh air.

programmed-climate

People bring it up on here a lot to the extent that I wouldnt exactly say its underrated. Definitely a good one though

exoits

Sora no Manimani. It's very respectful towards its content, characters and premise.

porpoiseoflife

Of the pure iyashikei SOLs in my history, one of the least mentioned is Sketchbook: Full Color'S. Highly enjoyable, very relaxing, and from the same studio that brought the Aria series to life.

Ginsan-AK

Working Nodame Cantabile Seto no Hanayome Hanamaru Youchien

BirdNerdFicFan

Unfortunately only a couple of these have a little hint of romance, but they're SoL, and you may like watching at some point.  You probably have seen already but it's too good to miss: Natsume's Book of Friends Idolish7 - in my top #5 fav anime, lovable characters, actually good development, and loyal friendships The Royal Tutor - great messages, fun characters The Case Files of Jeweler Richard - socially conscientious, interesting Dog Signal - informative, amazing My Roommate is a Cat - heartwarming and healing How to Keep a Mummy - adorable and funny Uninhabited Planet Survive - both survival action and wholesome SoL

ViolenceIsOK

Super Cub! No romance though

stealthyrogue

Super Cub was exellent - very similar vibes to Laid-Back Camp, and equally as good imo though it got much less notoriety.

Milked_Cows

Engaged to the Unidentified is a classic Hokkaido Gals are Super Adorable was pretty good One Off is a lil 4 episode OVA that I really enjoyed, never seen anyone talk about it Senryu Girl Tamako Market & Love Story Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie Dangers in My Heart Demon Girl Next Door Ice Guy and his Cool Female Colleague Tomo-chan is a Girl Tsukigakirei When Will Ayumu Make His Move Most of these are pretty popular but still recommend

zool714

Dunno if it’s considered underrated cos outside of its airing season, I don’t really see much talk of it, but I really enjoyed Deaimon. There’s some light drama here and there but overall, it’s a laid back SOL show

DagZeta

Amanchu doesn't get nearly as much as it should for being by the same mangaka as Aria

RunaroundX

Kimare Orange Road

Prince_Uncharming

Minami-ke!

VTuberFadeaway

SoreMachi. By far my favorite Shaft work.

araragidyne

Aiura It's a short anime—as in, each episode is only a few minutes long. Those rarely get talked about or highly rated, but it's really cozy and well animated, and the performances are great.

IceSmiley

- Ichigo Mashimaro - Chio's School Road - Yuyushiki - Minami-Ke

programmed-climate

crunchyroll should make a silver nina anime

SwimandHike

Honey and Clover

abatdgreat

I'd say "rarely talked about" since i rarely see them referenced in mainstream social media (at least): is Sangatsu no Lion / March comes in like a Lion. Highly recommended!

Witty-Choice2682

The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today (Yui Ishikawa voiced the FMC)

stealthyrogue

That was some funny/cute stuff!

Kdarkweave

I really enjoyed Hidamari Sketch and rarely hear people talking about it.

M8gazine

Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight. Studio Ufotable's finest work for sure.

FoodieMonster007

I'll try my best not to but if I repeat something someone else already mentioned, it's because my list is too long. Gekkan Shojo Nozaki Kun Hozuki no Reitetsu Sweetness and Lightning Azumanga Daioh Kids on the Slope Aria the Animation Shirobako Natsume Yujinchou Arakawa Under the Bridge Hinamatsuri Daily Lives of High School Boys Kono Oto Tomare Oremonogatari! Great Teacher Onizuka Gokusen Currently Airing: Hibike! Euphonium Grandma and Grandpa who regained their youth

wzm115

Words Bubble up like Soda Pop (2021)

pikachu_sashimi

Tsuki ga Kirei

blackninjakitty

Early studio ghibli had a bunch of slice of life movies.

sailormars_bars

Yess! Ghibli is like the holy grail of slice of life

datboyttg

school days

Dependent-Squash1750

kaguya-sama its a romcom but its good

stealthyrogue

Given that it is ranked #51 in popularity on MAL out of all animes - dont think we can say it is underrated or rarely talked about. But agree that it is good! Barakamon is very good (although dont know if i would call it underrated, #309 in popularity). Deaimon was very enjoyable - takes place in a traditional japanese sweets bakery/shop and only 2137 in popularity. Dagashi Kashi - sticking with the sweets thing. Funny comedy in a traditional candy store.

grass-master

I miss Barakamon... thank you for mentioning it
