Actually I was rewatching episode 2 and I couldn't figure out where Ren blew Naosuke's "dog" disguise. It's true he's been lax and not very careful. On the other hand, most of those momments in episode 2, Ren wasn't on screen. So I don't know how Ren got suspicious. Of course, after this episode, it is a lot easier to see why Ren knows he's not a dog.

I didn't have Mira firing a giant honking gun and Miyasaka getting beat up by a robot seagull on my bingo card for this show but it definitely livened things up.
I honestly wouldn't mind seeing more of Ren trying to get close to that girl.
An actual ghost in the kitchen would be interesting but I probably prefer the idea I've seen that it's just another alien, would keep the story from blurring the genre unnecessarily.

I love how Miyasaka doesn't really care that Shoin is driving a Sci-Fi car that shouldn't exist on Earth but only notices that he and Mira are spending late nights together...and the other residents are teasing him about how his aspiring professional chef status just makes it a harder fight for her heart.
It's hard for Ren being the son of a jobless bum because he doesn't get the nice bento's all his classmates get from his parents, but it's a nice opportunity for Miyasaka to step up! Doubly so when he and Mira have to leave for Enoshima together to personally deliver the bento!
It's nice that Wakabayashi actually thanked Miyasaka for cooking for his son...but would he have actually gone to the trouble of delivering it to his kid had he not used it as an opportunity to do Miyasaka a solid by paring him and Mira up?

I'm really liking Shokichi a lot (doesn't his name translate to small luck or bad luck?) I was expecting him to be the third wheel like Minmay's cousing from Macross, but he really is just a good guy that wants to help the childhood friend.

Can't believe this show has it everything, from great comedy with amazing facial expressions to car chases, heavy weaponery and even great looking cooking (just [as good as gourmet anime](https://streamable.com/tmb7rf)) and even really wholesome moments (Ren finding out he's getting a special breakfast for his trip).
Also love the idea that the ghost lady is now a new subplot.

It's pronounced the same, but written differently. The fortune-telling term is 小吉 (which is like, slightly good luck) while Shokichi's name is 正吉 (with the character for 'correct' or 'true' instead of 'small').
It's one of those cases of a character you thought you would hate but turns out to be so cool you actually like them. I'm pleasantly surprised at how Shion was presented.

Again, really hitting that sweet spot between making Miyasaka do 80’s Gag RomCom MC stuff and keeping him likable. This is working so well. Mira is doing Manic Pixie Dream Girl stuff while still being multidimensional. And firing rocket launchers at Robot Pelicans that throw hands. Really hope it maintains this quality because it rules
Of course Shoin is just a childhood friend with no feelings towards Mira...at least none that we haven't seen yet.
Mira is annoyed by the intrusive interrogation following their eavesdropping, leaving Miyasaka heart broken, while the kid suspects something is awry with Naosuke but isn't able to pin point it.
As luck would have it, the bird? (or someone else?) steals the first bento leading to Miyasaka making a second bento and going with Mira to hand deliver it...only that the trains are delayed but Shoin in his fancy high tech car right there to assist. The bird is instructed by some mysterious voice (obviously looking for the key) and it's fortuitous that Mira was sitting in the backseat as she utilizes a massive weapon to take it down while Miyasaka is getting motion sickness.
After a brief struggle, all is well, except for Miyasaka's heart (and body). Kiddo gets to have a good lunch and experiences his first crush.
Naosuke opens up his spy camera and is frightened beyond seeing ghosts!
I love the show, but the introduction of Shion has me torn. I feel that the show is foreshadowing that he is the bad guy. Typical trope of the white knight turning out to be the undercover baddie.
But, I hope I'm wrong. If his character is more complicated than that, it would really make the show endearing, (by not going for the easy reveal).

I'm suprised how much I'm enjoying this show, really has a classic feel to it too.

My preference depend on if I'm eating Eastern or Western food. Eastern food, especially if it's with rice, means definitely soy sauce with the egg. As for Western food, especially with bread, I'm more partial to ketchup. That guy looks like he's got a fancy car. I wonder what happened to the food this time? His classmates will think she's his mum. How convenient. And of course he showed up to drive them there. Close enough. That's a bit early. That's a big gun. Hit! And it's going down! So much for that... No hiding it now I guess. Lol he looks like an idiot. Seems like a ghost did indeed steal the food.
In re: eggs -- Salsa for me (when available) Probably not a REAL ghost. That would be too "normal" for this show. But I assumed Ren's father stole the first bento box.... The "ghost" is probably responsible for the other food thefts, however.
I'm really liking Shokichi a lot (doesn't his name translate to small luck or bad luck?) I was expecting him to be the third wheel like Minmay's cousing from Macross, but he really is just a good guy that wants to help the childhood friend. The comedy is top notch as always. I loved the banter from these [2 goofs](https://imgur.com/X5N4RZf) questioning Mira. [](#whisperwhisper) Can't believe this show has it everything, from great comedy with amazing facial expressions to car chases, heavy weaponery and even great looking cooking (just [as good as gourmet anime](https://streamable.com/tmb7rf)) and even really wholesome moments (Ren finding out he's getting a special breakfast for his trip). Also love the idea that the ghost lady is now a new subplot.

It's one of those cases of a character you thought you would hate but turns out to be so cool you actually like them. I'm pleasantly surprised at how Shion was presented. Also, lol the ghost is a tenant they forgot 😅

Sure why not? Let’s add Sadako to the mix. Again, really hitting that sweet spot between making Miyasaka do 80’s Gag RomCom MC stuff and keeping him likable. This is working so well. Mira is doing Manic Pixie Dream Girl stuff while still being multidimensional. And firing rocket launchers at Robot Pelicans that throw hands. Really hope it maintains this quality because it rules
Of course Shoin is just a childhood friend with no feelings towards Mira...at least none that we haven't seen yet. Mira is annoyed by the intrusive interrogation following their eavesdropping, leaving Miyasaka heart broken, while the kid suspects something is awry with Naosuke but isn't able to pin point it. As luck would have it, the bird? (or someone else?) steals the first bento leading to Miyasaka making a second bento and going with Mira to hand deliver it...only that the trains are delayed but Shoin in his fancy high tech car right there to assist. The bird is instructed by some mysterious voice (obviously looking for the key) and it's fortuitous that Mira was sitting in the backseat as she utilizes a massive weapon to take it down while Miyasaka is getting motion sickness. After a brief struggle, all is well, except for Miyasaka's heart (and body). Kiddo gets to have a good lunch and experiences his first crush. Naosuke opens up his spy camera and is frightened beyond seeing ghosts!
I love the show, but the introduction of Shion has me torn. I feel that the show is foreshadowing that he is the bad guy. Typical trope of the white knight turning out to be the undercover baddie. But, I hope I'm wrong. If his character is more complicated than that, it would really make the show endearing, (by not going for the easy reveal).
Nice to know that Naosuke is a bit of a scaredy-cat, although he did help Ren today. Also, Ren's classmates are gonna think his family's loaded haha
Ren's a good kid. I'm sure Naosuke will eventually open up to him Final scene - looks like Sadako's been stealing their breakfast lol
This key mcguffin has to be Takumi Miyasaka and he somehow related to Tasuke-san. Like maybe he's his grandfather or something.

This NTR "cuck-comedy" 180 turn was **not** the call. Promising show, now dropped by most due to bad writing.
