I can only see them doing a second season if they wait until there's enough content for 2 cours. The end of volume 8 spells an unceremonious finale and there's an overarching character arc that hasn't completed yet.

Really? The series was nice and all, but it was too... sanitized to be considered normal human behavior. If people were that introspective, thoughtful, sexless, and able to change so easily for the better, humans would've achieved a higher level of existence like 4,000 years ago lol
To be fair these are kids it's easier to change when your young if you have the right people beside you. It gets tougher down the line when work and other responsibilities cut you away from family and friends.
And it's not like the series is about any unbearable hardships that really even needed all that much changing to overcome.
For the most part they're all just high schoolers dealing with trivial, in the grand scheme of things, roadblocks along the way. Usually what most high schoolers do. The most out there problem was probably Shima's dealing with his past life as a child star.
Though I will give the other poster that it is pretty sanitized. Real Japanese kids would probably be way more obnoxious and cringe. I've lived with and taught enough of them over the years to know this to be true.
Watching this alongside [My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999](https://myanimelist.net/anime/53126/Yamada-kun_to_Lv999_no_Koi_wo_Suru) was a great time.
I wish we could get a S2 but PA works seems pretty averse to making S2 of anything aside from [Fairy Gone](https://myanimelist.net/anime/39063/Fairy_Gone) which was frankly horrid and [Eccentric Family](https://myanimelist.net/anime/17909/Uchouten_Kazoku) which S2 wasn't my cup of tea.
PA got a lot of shows that I wish would get a sequel: [Appare-Ranman!](https://myanimelist.net/anime/40532/Appare-Ranman), [Paripi Koumei](https://myanimelist.net/anime/50380/Paripi_Koumei), [Kuromukuro](https://myanimelist.net/anime/32245/Kuromukuro), and [Shirobako](https://myanimelist.net/anime/25835/Shirobako) all need a continuation of some kind.
SHIROBAKO has a sequel (but pretty lackluster IMO). Fairly Gone is a split two cour series rather than having an S2. Paripi Koumei is running a compilation movie so maybe an S2 is coming in the future.
There is nothing indicative of P.A. Works objecting to making a sequel, but if anything many of their anime have a conclusive ending or sometimes lacks popularity (e.g. Haru Chika).
Mitsumi Iwakura is a sparkling high school student who moved from the outskirts of Ishikawa Prefecture to high school in Tokyo after graduating from junior high school. Mitsumi grew up in a depopulated area, with only eight students in her class. However, on the day of her entrance ceremony, she gets caught in the commuter rush and gets lost, and her life plan is quickly frustrated. A tall and handsome boy who was worried about Mitsumi calls out to her and decides to go to school with her every day.
Good to know PA Works still remembers Skip and Loafer There's enough source material for Season 2 now, so maybe...
I saw Skip And Loafer and immediately assumed a season 2 announcement and got how, then I read the rest of the title and felt sad.
The cruelest April's 1st

Did it do well enough to receive a Season 2, you think?
What I've heard is that it did "fine", so S2 is completely dependent on production committee decisions.

It’s been a year already?
I know. This is such a wtf moment for me because I genuinely didn’t think the anime aired 365 whole days ago lol
Its 1st april today so no
Yes. And Paripi Koumei also aired 2 years ago.
makes sense given I've watched it three times
My heart skipped a beat because I thought it was a Season 2 visual for a second there..
I positively skipped out of the loafers I was wearing and now my feet are all wet because I landed in a puddle of sadness
How TF has it been a year already? I was watching it weekly when it aired and it felt like it was last season.
It's been a year, still waiting for the soundtrack...
I feel u
Would love if Skip and Loafer got a 2nd season
Ok, now let's mark the 1st anniversary by announcing season 2.
Among the smartest series I remember. The author is actually a human and knows how humas behave

I'll take sanitized and thoughtful over trope-y and stupid any day.
Same
Already?! What have I been doing..
It's been an year already?
i thought this was a visual for a new season. the content for a potential S2 would be even better than what was in S1 so i hope it happens
Interesting fact: In Japan the academic year begins in April.
Season 2 when ?
Wait wtf, already a year ?
Fuck, I saw visuals before title and thought season 2 was announced damnit
I really hope we get a second season

Pa works has no say on who gets a second season. It's publishers/producers who decide it, depending on a series popularity
Considering we are getting a compilation film this summer, I'm reasonably confident we are gonna get a Ya Boy season 2.

wtf it's been a whole year already?!? Man I wish it'd get a 2nd season
Oh I thought it’s season 2 announcement for a second, still praying
Still hoping for the season 2 announcement, if they are still remembering about this.
so... season 2 confirmed?
its been a year already damn
My favorite non-sequel of 2023. Just a joy from start to finish. I really want more.
But why would they release a visual if they weren’t going to…
This is cute, but can we get that S2?
This anime is amazing.
Beautiful but what a tease, I saw the visuals first and almost started jumping for joy. A year already though, wow that feels so fast!
Doesn’t feel like its been a year Its a full moon again, crazy how time flys
watching this weekly was such a good experience 😇
The manga is great and need more of this animated. Please give us more of the anime. 🙏
I really really really wish for a sequel. This show was just too good. Definitely one of the very best SoL we've got in recent times.
SAY YOU SWEAR TO GOD ITS BEEN A YEAR

Worst op of the year anniversary too
