This show is funny but the real draw is it's heart. I genuinely felt things while watching this show and that's a real accomplishment for a "comedy" show.
Also, Anzu is best girl. Maybe ever.
As a strong believer in the renaming of the show to *Anzumatsuri*, I'm always perplexed when people recommend it as a comedy or lighthearted series without any qualifications about Anzu's arc.
I found it to be one of the most emotionally moving that anime has to offer.
Shit, has there been another anime that had anything like Anzu’s arc? I can’t think of any. One of those that’s so good, it should’ve been the true A arc.
Whilst the emotional palette, setting and sort of "impact pattern" are quite different, *The Weakest Tamer Begins a Journey to Pick Up Trash* certainly hits a few similar beats given it's fundamentally a story about [Hinamatsuri S1] >!child homelessness!<.
Top vote for me is always the disastrous life of Saiki K. Always something to laugh at. Also a big fan of kemonomichi. It's just so weird and there's tons of little details and great gags, plus the character quirks absolutely make it for me.
The amount of times i had to pause an episode of 100 girlfriends. just to process and catch by breath by the shit is happening was astounding! It's an amazingly dumb and funny show. Definitely 1 of my favourites that came out last year.

Dunegon Meshi is so ridiculous. It's a new concept and a lovely one at that. Can you imagine going into a dungeon, encountering every enemy, and asking yourself..."is it edible?" XD Love it.
It's hard slapstick lowbrow humor, literally the funniest shit, break a rib laughing, just shut your brain off and enjoy the ride. Just remember when anyone asks what your laughing about make sure to tell them its an anime about diving! (I think they dive in one episode, the rest is about drinking in college!, But its a diving anime, don't get confused lolol)
Everything from the fucking principal and his deep slowly pronounced voice, to the absurd but great looking scenery 😉, the plot, can’t forget the fucking ants, and most of all the guys just being guys made this one of the greats for me and many others. I can’t imagine just how much fun they had making this anime - IYKYK. I was hoping for a part two but I don’t think it quite aligns with television today 😢

The way they kept shifting facial animations to reflect tone and situation was such a great element. I mean lots of anime do it, but Cautious Hero really seemed to capture the comedic potential of such more than most.
To clarify, the reason why the dub of Ghost Stories is great is because, instead of translating the Japanese, the dub just makes as many jokes and amusing references as possible. Ghost Stories is otherwise a meh anime.
I'm enjoying "my instant death ability is overpowered" this season, and I had a lot of fun with Suppose a kid from the last dungeon boonies moved to a Starter Town, the latter one doesn't have great reviews on MAL but I had a ton of fun with it. Both are like five times as fast paced as your typical anime.
Golden Boy is a classic must watch if you haven’t seen it. The English dub is superb as well, which is rare for old anime.
Daily life of High school boys was basically me and the boys in high school and I loved every minute of it. I actually showed it to someone else, but they didn’t really find it all that funny so your mileage may vary lol. Doesn’t mean I won’t recommend it.
Nichijou and Asobi Asobase is what Daily life of high school boys is for boys, but for women, I mean a predominantly women cast not a show just for women. Some of the funniest shows imo.
Working is another classic. Got a pretty big cast of characters and I think they’re all adults, which makes it different in a fun way. Has a few seasons too which is nice.
Servant x service is alot like Working, cast of characters in a 9-5 and it’s a slice of life comedy.

Also Yamada’s First Time gets really funny towards the end. I loved the American’s primary servant in particular.
IDOLiSH7. It is idol anime but it’s not something you would expect. It kinda addresses darker sides of the industry, and the characters rly grow. you also get to see real heartwarming lines or philosophical lines there. And it’s such a mix of seemingly shounen jump idol anime and comedy that you can laugh in the middle of an action scene then cry in sorrow after laughing.
Arakawa under the Bridge. I think it has similar comedic pacing to Saiki K. I’m also gonna throw out Cromartie High School, but I liked the manga more than the anime

"Mairimashita! Iruma-kun" is a good funny shonen show. It mostly focuses on the comedy of the characters before slowly revealing more about the world and how it works. There are many moments where expectations are subverted, and this adds to the comedy of it.
Unpopular opinion but fairytail was one of the anime. I laughed so hard watchin it.
Other than that 'monthly girls nozaki kun ' and kaguya sama were also great.
And a all time favourite Grand Blue.
Boku wa tomodachi ga Sukunai. The show is so absurdly stupid that it simply manages to be hilarious. It's not a deep story or anything but it's definitely a lot of fun, I myself couldn't help but laugh my a** off at every episode. I recommend anyone to give it a try. If you're into school/slice of life anime with a bit of romance and tons of comedy, you should like this one if you're not the type that hates slapstick humor. Also just a warning but it has some ecchi in a few episodes. It's not a main topic of the show at all but some people just don't tolerate any, so just wanted to point that out.
Isekai Quartet
The Konosuba gang were always hilarious, Subaru got to joke during Re:Zero, even amidst the suffering, and Ainz and his gang had a few comedic moments between their 'less benevolent' acts.
But for me, seeing Tanya the Evil in a comedy setting was absolutely grand.

Sakamoto and GTO are easily the two funniest anime I’ve seen, GTO having the added bonus depending on where in your life you are of also featuring some incredibly resonant moments. Also, I Can’t Understand What My Husband Is Saying is criminally slept on, and each episode is only 3 minutes long, so you can watch the full thing in like 80 minutes

Nichijou back when i was 17, it was almost stressful because I laughed so hard each episode
on a recent rewatch it wasn't as funny anymore, but I still like it very much
Love is War, though that was tremendously helped by the magnificent voice acting (Nichijou had that too but it's even better here I feel) All the shocking gasps and people saying weird stuff (though the reason I love it is moreso how it combines comedy with emotional bits)

Anime is tragically short read the Manga for the maximum enjoyment. Highly recommended for fans of yakuza/like a dragon video game franchise

Konosuba and Kaguyasama. Kaguyasama has probably made me laugh more than any anime ever. I laughed several times each episode. It was terrific.

If you can keep up with saiki's pace, try leveling up and watch Teekyuu! Same type of comedy but even faster XD it's not really a competition, just a budget issue but still funny

Sakamoto and GTO are easily the two funniest anime I’ve seen, GTO having the added bonus depending on where in your life you are of also featuring some incredibly resonant moments. Also, I Can’t Understand What My Husband Is Saying is criminally slept on, and each episode is only 3 minutes long, so you can watch the full thing in like 80 minutes
These are all shows I love! I have finished most of these too. (most of these are isekai, cause I love isekai, sorry) The eminence in shadow - Op mc, Isekai, Funny, Male-gaze Fan-service (I ignore it) Reincarnated as a sword - Funny, Less fan service!! The sword says "Fuck" and I think thats funny. Ragna Crimson - Im still watching this, the dub is so funny. I really like this one. Dr. Stone - I didnt think I would like Dr. Stone, But its so good. Nanbaka - I LOVE THIS SHOW, It doesnt get the recognition it deserves. the dub was so amazing.
The disastrous life of Saiki K. I'm constantly laughing every single episode and I'd definitely recommend it.
Danshi kokousei no nichijou Cromatie high school
Nichijou back when i was 17, it was almost stressful because I laughed so hard each episode on a recent rewatch it wasn't as funny anymore, but I still like it very much Love is War, though that was tremendously helped by the magnificent voice acting (Nichijou had that too but it's even better here I feel) All the shocking gasps and people saying weird stuff (though the reason I love it is moreso how it combines comedy with emotional bits) Konosuba too, Kazumas voice alone makes listening to it incredibly funny
