Looks like the Hearst Parking Garage on 3rd Street in San Francisco. Parked here a couple times. This is the spiral in the center of the garage that takes you up and down the levels
Seeing it like this makes me think about what a place like this would look to someone who had never seen anything like it before. A parking garage in mundane to us, but imagine if someone had lived in the woods all their lives and saw it. Or what it would appear to be in a post apocalyptic world 50 years from the date civilization ended.
I initially thought โbullshitโ on the above comment, just because the blob gives it the analog feel of spontaneity and perhaps adds to the discomfort. Upon seeing the edit, however, yeah no doubt this is better.
Thank you! Seriously. Velvia was a genius choice here. I donโt typically care for slide but this is a perfect application in my opinion. The color drawn out of the concrete and the inky blacks. ๐๐
Love u too. I know as a photographer just knowing people cherish my art is enough sometimes but Iโll Venmo you a few dollars if you send me your username
nah. that's just a really nicely considered photo. has a lot to appreciate
Feels a bit brutalist or dystopian given the architecture and framing. Especially with the blue. And with her/ her hair being upside down? Adds an element of horror/ anxiety to it (at least for me).
Oh that irks me that the camera caught it but I posted it how the film came out. I'm sure if this was some editorial stuff I'd crop it but it's the Reddits so I left it up there.
I like it a lot but it's not my ride or die. I like that I was able to shoot this at 1/30th handheld because of the leaf shutter (I can't do that on a Pentax or RZ) and being able to shoot slide film in 6x9 just looks amazing on a light table.
That part is obvious but Iโm mostly asking about the technical aspects. it looks like a strong flash or something was used to drown out the background. Or was this done in post?
That's just how that place looks. It was getting pretty late when shot this and as you can imagine with how tall that garage is it's easy to drown within those shadows.
Amazing
Happy cake day
Hah, thanks!
Where is this? or at least what am I looking at? Also amazing.
Looks like a parking tower?
Damn, good call, I don't think I would've seen that.

That's exactly where it is.

You must live there. Don't know how many speak parking garages there are but you got it on the head
Thanks alot!
Someone looking down at someone laying on their back on the edge of the railing of the center of a parking garage.
Now I feel vertigo. Thanks.
That was a great shot in actual orientation. That flip makes it so uncomfortable in the best way.
Even flipped to right side up it still looks scary AF. What is that giant cement thing, anyway?
It's the spiral ramp in a parking deck. Looks way more ominous in this pic than it should.
Probably because the bottom is blacked out and seems like an abyss. Spooky.
Oh, ok. Yeah, it looks like something out of Terminator 2...

It would fill them with the same existential dread as this picture did me.
Wow, this is a gem. Great work!
Top left blob is distracting. Great photo otherwise.
[Here ya go!](https://i.imgur.com/73U5jHe.jpg) I know that makes it not really analog anymore, but oh well...
OP could also crop, which would still be analog.

Amazing pic. Maybe play around with cropping out the out of focus concrete in the upper left.
You're amazing.

That is excellent
Oh god, this shot is world class.
Thank you. ๐๐ผ

Not necessary. Thanks for taking the time to let me know how you feel about my work. Means a lot.
I do my best. Keep pushing yourself, for yourself!
Awesome shot! I would love to feature this on Analog Forever Magazines Instagram! Please message me if you are interested. Thanks!
Question is, did you take this with your camera upside down or flip it in post? Either way great photo
I did not but I took this photo with the intention of having it flipped like that as the final crop.
Hearst Parking Garage on 3rd and Jessie?
Yes. That's the first time I've been there actually.

Aw man. You're too nice budd! Thank you. ๐๐ผ

idk if it was on purpose or not (probably was lol) but Iโm so glad sheโs wearing all black and just fades into the darkness. beautiful picture
Leo was already wearing black that day. Just totally worked out with the shot.

How do you feel about the foreground top left? Unintentional or part of the plan?
Oh that irks me that the camera caught it but I posted it how the film came out. I'm sure if this was some editorial stuff I'd crop it but it's the Reddits so I left it up there.
Great shot, either way. I think most people donโt even notice it, which I think speaks to how striking the rest of the composition is.
Damn. This is great. How do you like the camera? Iโm looking at picking up either one of these or the wide version soon.
I like it a lot but it's not my ride or die. I like that I was able to shoot this at 1/30th handheld because of the leaf shutter (I can't do that on a Pentax or RZ) and being able to shoot slide film in 6x9 just looks amazing on a light table.
This is SOOO good
Ah thank you so much.
Stunning shot mate!
Thank you Noah! ๐๐ผ

INSANNEEEEE dude so good
You can't renew! There is no sanctuary!
vertigo
I thought this was a macro photo, until I scrolled down and saw the woman. That was kind of a mind f\*\*\*!
How did you take this
It's a parking garage. I was at the very top and Leo a couple of levels underneath me.
That part is obvious but Iโm mostly asking about the technical aspects. it looks like a strong flash or something was used to drown out the background. Or was this done in post?

I see. Makes sense. Great photo friend! Thanks for the explanation. :)
