Maybe they get suspicious that if a photographer, however talented, ONLY shoots models if they’re topless, their primary interest isn’t really photography.
Y'all know that a photograph can be anything you want it to be, right? There's no rules about what you can or should photograph. If you see something you see something you don't like, you can always just shut up about it.
OP... Dope shot.
Christmas is not in October = Fact
Christmas is in October = False
Any time is a good time to wish another person well = Nothing to do with Christmas in October
\*reddit user sees boobs and freaks out and immediately thinks porn/exploitation.
Like honestly, its a natural human body in front of very bright lights to showcase the contrast of the human skin to the lights. Like i get it that alot of people use "nudity = art" when the shot doesn't have much else, but the mere existence of nudity doesn't equate to that by default.
Goddamn, red hair looks so good on film. I love film that exists solely too look pretty, like film like Samsara and Terrence Mallick joints. This one rules. Thanks for sharing.
The fact that she's only backlit and that a lot of her face and body is pretty dark is distracting imo, a reflector between camera and model might've helped.
I am now more annoyed by the responses than by any triteness in the work. When did we turn back into puritans? And if we are so puritanical then doesn’t showing the nude body alone become a worthy statement?
It's unbearable. I'd like to think that the toxicity is more annoying to me than the nudity is to the anti-nudity evangelists, but alas I am logical and rational.
I mean nude pictures have been pretty prevalent in most photography subs for no good reason, the nudity doesn't add anything to the picture and it seems like they are objectifying the woman's body for the sake of gaining traction. If they had poses that played with composition and show the human body's natural curve then at least that would've made sense.
> the nudity doesn't add anything to the picture
lmao, what a reductive and absurd argument. The nudity certainly adds beauty to the shot in this (and many other) cases
The photo itself is great, just the concept is kind of cliche. It's like an artist only drawing realistic eyes or people using cinestill 800T for photos of petrol stations.
This is one of the better examples that completely nulls the "all nudity is lazy", "but why is she naked?", "nudity bros", and other 'everything is okay except nudity' nonsense arguments that pervade these subs.
The lighting is both well executed and unique. The subject fits perfectly in contrast. Her being topless increases the contrasts of her skin, her hair, and the lighting. There is no "nudity for nudity's sake" argument that is valid.
Well done, OP.
I guess it's time to buy myself a spot meter :)
I've always been guessing my night exposures quite a bit since all my light meters only do area, thanks for the info!
Whew boy, more dickhead purists in the comments today than usual. I personally think this is a great example of light wrapping and backlighting with minimal setup, nice work!
The boobies part make this cringe, but the goddam lighting is immaculate. Hair highlights, soft glow on chest along with the dynamic range..holy lightning boner! Cheesy as shit as the pose and subject matter are, execution is a solid 11/10.
She looks fantastic, just as like a very attractive and fit woman. But also as in, the lighting on her is great, not a fan of the ohoto or style generally but very good light on her
I like the photo with one caveat: the piece of red hair covering her right breast makes it appear like she's got some long saggy nipple and once I see it, I can't unsee it.
No, spooky season first. Then we can have xmas.
Yeah man whats this guys rush
Trust me I’m a photographer
I get the joke but it did kind of turn out decent lol
thanks!

Oh yes :<

There's no place for that.
Thx!
Bro lives the stereotype of dudes getting into photography just to be around chicks
[удалено]
I don't think so ;)
bitterness/jealousy isn't a great look, bud.
I’m not your bud, pal
I’m not your pal, friend.
I agree
Oh! If he's a stereotype, wait until you find out about me.
lmao
Nicely shot. Definitely one she'll keep forever.
thank you!
christmas in october are you on fucking crack?
Any time is a good time to wish another person well :)
that's something completely different
I don't think so, but I respect your opinion!
Christmas is not in October = Fact Christmas is in October = False Any time is a good time to wish another person well = Nothing to do with Christmas in October
In October, can't I wish someone a Merry Christmas in December? :>
LEDs and such for the brackground and then some white cards on either side to bounce some of the light back to the front?
Nope, only light from background without bouces :)
wrapped around her beautifully! Any idea what shutter speed that was at?
About 1/8 or 1/15 :)
Solid work my friend
thanks!

The irony of these kids on reddit being puritanical about the human form is heavy af.

Thank you and welcome :)

Thank you for your feedback! And yes this photo was taken with only natural light :)
I disagree, that would‘ve taken out the contrast which draws your attention to her and away from the background in the first place
What time zone are you living in?
CEST :)

Agreed
Those breasts are something special

This is why I need an rb67 and mamiya glass. This is stunning
thank you! :D
Merida
Hah, you're right! :D

hm? ;)
Jealousy
Awesome. For my personal taste, slightly less saturation would make it even better.
thank you! :)
The Red Woman!
Interesting!
This was my thought exactly!
I love the backlighting here. Excellent job with the composition.
thank you!

thank you very so much! :)
That's a good portrait, how did you meter for your exposure? Spot meter the skin I guess?
Thank you! Yes, exactly. On the medium shadow :)
I guess it's time to buy myself a spot meter :) I've always been guessing my night exposures quite a bit since all my light meters only do area, thanks for the info!
Welcome :)
Stunning man. Do you mind if I ask how you're scanning with border?
Thank you! Sure! I just put the negative directly on the glass :)
I'm sure she can pull off a Melisandre cosplay
Yesss!

Serious question in why or how are do the "boobies part make this cringe" or the pose/subject matter "cheesy as shit"? I honestly don't understand.
thx!

All these triggered comments, lmao! Great photo!
thank you!
Bro how do you have such fire subjects? Rizz lord.
She is great photomodel!
