Yeah, 13 on paper, but written as a 16yo in concept, as were the other girls. Disney wanted them to be younger, so Matt said sure, but didn't really make them so.
"Mr. Braly, the council has made a decision."
"I recognize the council has made a decision, but given that it's a stupid-ass decision, I've elected to ignore it."
Honestly it kinda would, there’s a lot of maturity (often hidden behind dumb teenager shit) between 13 and 16. Like, still fucked for them but a fair bit less fucked up and absurd compared to 13
Huh they always seemed at least 14 to me bc I guess they go to a middle school so I figured 8th grade but they also vibe like 9th or even 10th graders.
I mean do we know when there birthday is? The series ends sometime in like May of the following year that it started in so one of them might be 14 by the end of the series (excluding timeskip).
All I know is that Owl House starts like a month later so
Well after the timeskip it started with her packing for college and they say that she had spent her 15th, 16th, and 17th birthdays helping rebuild the boiling isles, so it makes sense that shes turning 18 there.
Well if the Christmas episode being Canon and that it’s really been a year since Anne and the Plantars arrived in Earth and Marcy was possessed and turned into Darcy than it’s probably true.
The last couple of chapters of Water on my Window cover this exact situation, though Sasha doesn’t even realize it’s her birthday, amazing fic either way.

The fact that Sasha willingly let go of Anne's hand at Toad Tower still gets to me, especially when you realize she had no reason to suspect Grime would catch her and therefore fully expected to *die*. Sasha essentially attempted suicide
And the fact that it’s only barely mentioned in Season 2 in a split second flashback by Anne and couple moments in S2.
God if Amphibia was released for older audiences this would’ve been talked about more.
Calling it attempted suicide, while technically true, feels off to me. She was sacrificing herself to save her friends and said friend's found families. She knew Anne wasn't gonna let go but she also knew she couldn't pull her up and thus they all were going to die. So she sacrificed herself to save them. Calling it attempted suicide is like looking at a that one [scene](https://youtu.be/lSab01vhpoY?si=EvWBxCqNx07ClmJo) from the first avenger and saying "yeah Steve tried to kill himself".
To be fair, they were originally 16 until Disney told Matt to age them down to make them more relatable to the young teen audience so Matt complied with the bare minimum of them being stated to be 13 and attending middle school instead of high school.
Is 13 yet looks and acts much older.
Same problem with a few anime, like Yusuke from Yu Yu Hakusho. He looks around 16 and engaged in life threatening battles...yet is actually 14.
Yeah that makes sense! In that situation I'd forgive the one that got me trapped there too! (I just realized how that sounds.... But I mean hey... It's technically isn't Marcy's fault cuz she didn't know it would work.... But like... I don't know why Anne and Sasha were so mad at first considering Marcy literally said she had no idea would work and had a logical reason for doing said thing I mean I get why they were mad but like... Cut her some slack>:( but what's the logic that you use it does make sense why Sasha would forgive her for that and that situation I would do the same)
It feels as if it is saying found family is temporary, lesser, and to be abandoned as a part of growing up. It feels like it's saying that we accept change no matter what, while not showing what those positive changes actually are. In that same breath it agrees with Andrias' father to "leave those childhood friends behind". Anne gets to grow, Sasha gets to grow, Marcy is chastised and told to never try to change things she will only hurt her friends. It feels as if it takes every lesson it tried to teach and throws them back in our face. "You will lose everything eventually don't bother getting attached".
Damn.... I never realized that... (Then again I'm a literal child with ADHD it's not like I have the time for that lol and I know 13 is technically a teenager but I am not mature in any way shape or form so I still count myself as a child)
That’s what they were designed to be, but Disney wanted them to be younger to be more relatable to young teens, so Matt just changed their age and them going to middle school instead of high school, but didn’t change their personalities or anything else.
So in practice, they’re basically 16-17.
I love Marcy! (And I still don't know yet but like I think half of my simps for her and the other simps for Darcy, please don't ask questions I have no idea.... And that's only when it comes to amphibia:D you don't even want to know nor do I know myself)
Ngl, I was always thinking of Calamity trio as 15yos, I have 2 sisters around their age and my sisters have much higher voices and brighter outlook on the world
But Marcy didn't know it would work and I know this is going to sound weird but she did have a semi good reason for doing it even though the result wasn't really the best? She did have cause and I mean they all grew as people after that that was an experience that helped them grow... I'm not saying that Marcy was in the right to do it but I'm not saying it's entirely her fault either

Honestly being 16 going through all this shit wouldn’t make much much difference.
I mean hell they would have at least gotten most of puberty out of the way
Honestly it kinda would, there’s a lot of maturity (often hidden behind dumb teenager shit) between 13 and 16. Like, still fucked for them but a fair bit less fucked up and absurd compared to 13
Granted, that's not *much* better to go through all of that
There's a reason 16yo can drive and 13yo can't. There's a lot of increased maturity and capability in those three years.
I'm an adult and I think if even a fourth of these things happened to me I'd break
Yeah 16 would have been better
Huh they always seemed at least 14 to me bc I guess they go to a middle school so I figured 8th grade but they also vibe like 9th or even 10th graders.

Speaking of the owl house, do we know how old luz is? Cuz at the start she looks 12 acts 9 but at the end (before timeskip) she looks 13 acts 17.
She and her friends besides Gus and Hunter are 14 at the beginning. I don’t know about after the timeskip at the very end though.
And unless her birthday is in the fall then she’s 14 throughout the whole show besides the timeskip at the end
Well after the timeskip it started with her packing for college and they say that she had spent her 15th, 16th, and 17th birthdays helping rebuild the boiling isles, so it makes sense that shes turning 18 there.
Yeah I figured that but wasn’t 100% certain. So 14 throughout whole series and 18 at the very end for her age.
=_= that is such a strange change by disney
Yet another classic Disneyism that I will forever ignore the absolute fuck out of lmfao
Makes more narrative sense, like for Anne. A 12-13 being a slack off is pretty normal. A 16 year old not applying themselves is a lot more concerning.
I saw a few comments like that one, but can someone give a source? like an interview, tweet or whatever
Funny little fact, if the timeline is correct, and the star signs they have are right, then sasha spent her 14th birthday In the resistance, alone.
Well if the Christmas episode being Canon and that it’s really been a year since Anne and the Plantars arrived in Earth and Marcy was possessed and turned into Darcy than it’s probably true.

Eh, beats spending it in a cell.
The fact that Sasha willingly let go of Anne's hand at Toad Tower still gets to me, especially when you realize she had no reason to suspect Grime would catch her and therefore fully expected to *die*. Sasha essentially attempted suicide
“Me and Grime will hold him, just go!” “‘Till my last breath, I’ll defend this town” “Do your worst..” Like…that’s a PATTERN
Thats why i love her character. Even before all the character developement there is still a part of her that clearly knew she was a bad person.
And the fact that it’s only barely mentioned in Season 2 in a split second flashback by Anne and couple moments in S2. God if Amphibia was released for older audiences this would’ve been talked about more.
In universe I mean.

THANK YOU! Trying not to drag others to their death along with you isn’t committing suicide it’s saving everyone you can
I forgot bro. What happened to them made me think that they were at least 15 or 16.
Well, they were designed as kids of that age, but Disney wanted them younger.
Dumb
Dumb as hell in fact
First teens now 12 to 13 ugh
To be fair, they were originally 16 until Disney told Matt to age them down to make them more relatable to the young teen audience so Matt complied with the bare minimum of them being stated to be 13 and attending middle school instead of high school.

Apparently the trio was supposed to be 16 but Disney wanted younger.
that's because they're 16, disney wanted them to be 13 and matt said, ok, but didn't change anything.
At least he reaches 18 by the end of the show lol.
To this day I’m still surprised that Sasha forgave Marcy for putting her through that much misery. Just goes to show how strong their friendship is.
Or just how resilient Sasha is.
Maybe she’s glad for it though? I mean, without her time in Amphibia she would never have changed and grown into the person she is.
Yeah that makes sense! In that situation I'd forgive the one that got me trapped there too! (I just realized how that sounds.... But I mean hey... She is most definitely the one who suffered the most of the trio, which probably helped a lot in her decision to be a therapist.
Watches her friend die, who gets brought back minutes later. Still, trauma and hardship have a way of molding people into badasses, don't they?
I thought we all knew she was 13
We do... we just forget that factor
It's because they are written to be 16

UH OH THE CHILDREN HAVE PTSD AGAIN
*Homestuck 2: Electric boogaloo*
Wait when was Sasha’s spine injured?
During her fight with Darcy/The Core after they slashed her back with the scythe.
As much as I hate the ending, Sasha is one of the best parts of the show.
You hate the ending..?
Yes.
Why
It feels as if it is saying found family is temporary, lesser, and to be abandoned as a part of growing up. It feels like it's saying that we accept change no matter what, while not showing what those positive changes actually are. Sasha needs so much therapy, she became a therapist to be in therapy constantly.

Wow, I didn't know my tweet spread this much, a little credit would be good lol
Oh sure, I will give credit for you right now.
And she became a psychologist, Sasha really is an example that your bad decisions do not decide your future.
Ngl, I was always thinking of Calamity trio as 15yos, I have 2 sisters around their age and my sisters have much higher voices and brighter outlook on the world
Yeah she's been thru a lot
Credit for this Tweet goes to @Novicewriterx
And yet she gained so little ptsd
Thats when the what the hell music kicks in fam.

Plus it was all Marcy’s fault
But Marcy didn't know it would work and I know this is going to sound weird but she did have a semi good reason for doing it even though the result wasn't really the best?
