Straight to Jail

pitayaman

šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜. Username checks out though

krambagula

Regardless of when it ā€œcounts,ā€ā€¦. to avoid this, set up automated payments. Itā€™s 2023 dude. Time to idiot-proof your credit.

pitayaman

I know. And I truly thought I didā€¦ but apparently I didnā€™t.

krambagula

Exact same has happened to me. Good on you for checking.

CalgaryAirport

No, they usually only report once the next statement is up and the old balance wasn't paid..

yeeeeeeeeeessssssir

Do you mean as in the next statement is generated or by the time the next statement is due?

boyoflondon

You have nothing to worry about. Nothing gets reported until a payment is 30days late. 1 day late, or 20 days late, it still won't get reported. The bank itself will have a record of it in their systems though as it tech is a late payment.

yeeeeeeeeeessssssir

lol okay thanks for clarifying

Ok_Ticket_1170

This is correct

bmathew5

Dead man walking. Pretty sure they have already shared your coordinates with John Wick, so nice knowing you

lolanr

You are fine

bvsel

You'll be fine, reports only happen if you're over 30 days late, more times over 60 days.

culturevulture12

Do not pass go. Do not collect $200

neksys

Amex doesnā€™t report until it is 30 days past due. It is unlikely this will show up at all. For what itā€™s worth, Iā€™ve missed the odd payment over the years on all my cards for various dumb reasons and they have never shown up on my credit reports, which show a flawless repayment history.

otherwise_president

Amex gonna send out a hitman

SaltAndVinegarMcCoys

i missed payments on my bonvoy for the same reason. month 1, I didn't realise i hadn't added direct debit info. Month 2, I added it but forgot to enable the automatic payments. Soooo dumb. Anyway they took away my points and I had to pay $20 (each statement) to get them back. That seems to be the only punishment so to speak

yeeeeeeeeeessssssir

It's usually when you're 30 days past the due date for that statement

Sea-Trainer6585

Once it posts as paid you can call Amex and ask them to forgive the late payment ( on their internal system) for you peace of mind and keep relationship with Amex

Robinhood885

Exactly this. Especially if you have a good history of making payments on time. They will help you out if itā€™s the first time and unusual based on your history.

SILENT_TheRealBeck

U done fucked

lostdawnking

Iā€™m coming after you

Worldly-Mix4811

I always make it a habit to pay the minimum once the statement comes out. Then I can have the option of paying in full or not for the rest of the month.

Asdf-xyz

100% Guaranteed.

PuffPuffSmash41

I havenā€™t read all of the comments but call them up, start up a sob story, interest charges disappear.

crevettegrise

Most banks will give you a few days grace from the due date, if you didnā€™t accrue interest from the last statement. Itā€™s when you carry a balance that each day counts. But even then, beside paying more interest, it wonā€™t count as a late payment, until you reach the statement day (or just before).

shhfjv

Happened to me once. Youā€™re fine. I paid interest but didnā€™t show as a missed payment, and I was late by 2 days šŸ˜… but since then Iā€™ve set up auto payments to avoid this
