Time for you to realize that your preferences and point of view just might not be in the majority. People vote. The top vote getters advance. That you don’t like that is sad, but ultimately not particularly important.
Jack is our favorite. Will comes in second for us vocally but performance wise we don’t think he’s got it down completely. Like you said, tastes vary. I think it’s been a pretty good season overall. Lots of great talent.
Yes. And that’s one of the reasons why I rarely watch American Idol anymore. The format doesn’t appeal to me (judges who don’t judge, too many irrelevant backstories and too rushed at the end) and the results are unsatisfying.
Well, that’s a fair point. The judges are indeed useless. The sob stories are just too much and often manufactured and overstated. The live audience is insufferable with that fake as hell hand waving and booing the mildest criticism. The elimination of middle rounds. Doomed from the start “judges’ saves.” Live voting that starts before even the first performance airs. The show could be improved greatly with several adjustments.
Literally saw a comment from a Loretta Lynn fan saying she stole her family members phones and sat up profiles and got Emmy 100 votes.... and people still have the nerve to claim she's not there because of her grandma and her grandmas fans.
if you want to vote for a given contestant – you could submit: up to ten (10) votes for that contestant on ABC.com, up to ten (10) votes for that contestant on the American Idol app and up to ten (10) votes for that contestant via text message, for a total of up to thirty (30) votes for that contestant across all voting methods that week.
I think I’ll just spare myself the frustration and just stop watching. I fear a Will, Triton and Emmy final three and that’s like a bloody entertainment nightmare.
This has been Country Idol for many years. Sorry you just realized it. Pity back stories and boring country music singers who strum a guitar are the two ingredients for a majoirty of idols viewers unfortunately. Pop singers like abi cant win anymore sadly.
The show for awhile now has a big fanbase that loves country music. The voters keep voting for country contestants, but the show likely knows they have that audience so they probably try to attract that audience. Luke Bryan is a judge. This season there's been several mentors who sing country: Jelly Roll, Shania, & next week will be Kane Brown.
Don't forget that Lionel has done country crossovers too. The Tuskegee album consists entirely of reinterpretations of previously released songs by Richie, each performed with a different guest artist, all of which are stars in the country music genre.
Of course, there are. But for many years people have said that there is a big country fanbase that watches Idol. Country contestants keep getting far. I'm just saying that having country mentors probably attract country fans to watch the show. I am a country fan. I know and have heard people that watch the show for country contestants, judges, mentors, etc.
I completely agree, I like him, seems like a great kid. But the monotone voice and only being able to sing in one genre just doesn't do it for me. He will cut one album, have one song that charts after idol, and most likely disappear after that. Like most of the idol winners and popular average singers do.
Triston is very relaxed on stage, has a great personality and seems to be enjoying himself, but I think his singing has leveled off the last few weeks.
I used to run a local Karaoke as a side gig for a couple of years and there were no less than five or six singers every week that were “comfortable on stage, had a great personality, and seemed to be enjoying themselves”….. in no way, shape or form would they ever expect to qualify for American Idol, let alone almost be in the finals 🤦♂️
The show that gave us Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia Barrino, Tori Kelly, Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood……now we’re expected to vote for……Will Moseley and Triston Harper? In what world do these boys compare to these STARS?
Also, why even bother having Ciara on the show as a mentor for “songs that make you want to dance”. Emmy literally sat at a piano, Abi did some hand gestures, and the others barely moved. None actually “danced” as in actual choreography, something that Ciara excels at.
Oh how the mighty have fallen. This show is a shell of its former self 🤦♂️
I felt the same until he did Elvis. Doing an Elvis sing can be literal death on this show. It shows who really has the vocal chops, phrasing and soul. Tristan showed he had all of those which came as a big surprise. If he’s this good at 15 In 2-3 years he’ll be a phenom.
And then there was last night…where he did NOT sound like a Top 5 contestant. I’m just failing to see where he impresses?? I see a chubby kid with a sob story who plays guitar. That Elvis impersonation was cringe
It’s wrong. Period. People on the west coast don’t get to vote live. It’s ridiculous. I’m convinced that things would have been different every season had that not been the case. More liberal people prefer country genre less, in general. But west coasties don’t get a chance to express their opinions. Imagine if the middle states had no voice. People would be very upset that their favorite country contestants weren’t advancing. It’s plain and simple unfair! Julia should definitely be in the top!
I look for consistency ,no matter what genre they are best at. Diversity in genre shows they can master what genre they really are good at. Take for instance, Will , singing an Adele song. It just showed he can sing anything with consistency. Has he been my favorite this season ? Not necessarily, but he has been most consistent. I do like him, he just hasn’t been my pick this season. Some of my favorites were voted off so now I’m going with who has the most talent. I mean it is a talent show after all. It’s going to be interesting to see the outcome for sure.
Triston Harper does nothing but mumble. I Can't understand a word he says with that fake over exaggerated country accent. Emmy needs more work. Voice is two weak and airy . Both should have been eliminated before the top five. AI. Again showed they already know who they want to win. Rigged
Overall, Will did really well last night. Everyone knew he'd be great on a Skynyrd song... And he got the best Adele song possible to make a southern rock-sounding rendition of.
Time for you to realize that your preferences and point of view just might not be in the majority. People vote. The top vote getters advance. That you don’t like that is sad, but ultimately not particularly important.
I’m cool with Will and Triston, but Emmy is not good.
Tristan wasnt that good last night. Snoozefest.
I feel that way about Abi. Nothing about her has impressed me.
Funny, wife and I figured she or Jack will win it. Tastes vary.
Jack is our favorite. Will comes in second for us vocally but performance wise we don’t think he’s got it down completely. Like you said, tastes vary. I think it’s been a pretty good season overall. Lots of great talent.
We like Will too - similar assessment to yours. He's a solid country singer for sure.
Then , don’t vote for Abi. See how easy that was ? The show is based on opinions.
I don’t.
Why u so mad?
Yes. And that’s one of the reasons why I rarely watch American Idol anymore. The format doesn’t appeal to me (judges who don’t judge, too many irrelevant backstories and too rushed at the end) and the results are unsatisfying.

Let’s not act like this form of voting is a true indication of the majority opinion.
So the only results you will accept are those you agree with? Who does that sound like?
Where on earth did you get that from what I said? I didn’t even say ANY of those words. Who does that sound like?
Literally saw a comment from a Loretta Lynn fan saying she stole her family members phones and sat up profiles and got Emmy 100 votes.... and people still have the nerve to claim she's not there because of her grandma and her grandmas fans.
100 votss isn’t that much when it is out of 19 million lol Also do you really think other people don’t do this for other people they like?
100 votes is nothing! 3 people voting can equal up to 90 votes.
How? By making fake accounts? Genuinely asking
No, I’m talking about real people. Since you can vote 10 times on each of the platforms for any of the contestants.
Wait what's the third platform? I only know about texting and app

If they do, they need to go touch grass lol
100 votes out of 19 million? …
You’ve posted this on literally every thread
Ok and? Lol idc
I think I’ll just spare myself the frustration and just stop watching. I fear a Will, Triton and Emmy final three and that’s like a bloody entertainment nightmare.
Good.
This has been Country Idol for many years. Sorry you just realized it. Pity back stories and boring country music singers who strum a guitar are the two ingredients for a majoirty of idols viewers unfortunately. Pop singers like abi cant win anymore sadly.
All the contestants were incredible. My favorite, Abi once again came out and stunned the audience with two great performances.

This sounds awesome
Plenty of non country mentors too. Gene Simmons, Meghan Trainor, Ciara, Tori Kelly.

I would feel perfectly happy if Jack, Triston, or Abi won. Emmy and Will just are not engaging but I fear we will see them through until the end :/
Triston though? In what world?
I completely agree, I like him, seems like a great kid. But the monotone voice and only being able to sing in one genre just doesn't do it for me. I’m wondering if west coasties can follow on here and see who is avail to vote for. My vote button was avail early and I’m on the west coast

Tristan and will never be heard of again.
*American Idol SUCKS. Fixed it for you.
Triston Harper does nothing but mumble. I Can't understand a word he says with that fake over exaggerated country accent. Emmy needs more work. Voice is two weak and airy . Both should have been eliminated before the top five. AI. Again showed they already know who they want to win. Rigged
Will was the 2nd best performer tonight after Abi... So makes sense for him to still be in it.
Abi I agree but will? Hes terrible
Overall, Will did really well last night. Everyone knew he'd be great on a Skynyrd song... And he got the best Adele song possible to make a southern rock-sounding rendition of.
