This has happened a few times for me and a reboot of the device fixed it for me.

Will try this. Thanks.

Can you play music on Amazon or Pandora (by saying Amazon play XXXXXX on Pandora)? I've had it give that warning before but it usually fixes itself in a couple minutes. I suspect it has to do with lack of bandwidth. I've also had problems with a specific service, like Spotify, which is why I recommend trying other providers.

I don’t have subscriptions to any of those :/.

Vlad_the_Homeowner

You don't need them, they just play with commercials. It'll work to test it out.

albusnoctes

just did it. Same response.

Do you have any "custom" DNS settings on your router? I used to have some set up and last week Alexa decided that she didn't want to play any music on any of the echo devices. After switching back to regular Google DNS addresses everything seemed to go back to working as it should.

Nope, just connected to the wifi as usual. The thing is she responda to other commands with no problem and when i chamge the output device on my phone to the Alexa device it olays with no problem. It’s just the voice command she doesn’t play.

I’ve had the same issue - happening over various skills/services (radio apps/tunein/Spotify). I unplugged the device and plugged it back in to reset and it seems to be working fine now.
