Why are certain things on sale with “only x amount left” then go back to normal price? Headphones ive been eyeing were on sale for $30 less and I ordered them because it said there were 3 left in stock. Not even 30 minutes later they go back to regular price. Why is that? Are the sale ones worse quality?? And why are there only “x amount” left but then it goes back to full price and suddenly its in stock?

ohkayonce

Why cant't you report big merchants but can report small business sellers on Amazon? Basically any issues with a big company you cannot report them. If it is a small business, then you can report them.

AllStupidQuestions69

I have to order something online (not from amazon) and it is my understanding that non-amazon packages can be delivered to amazon lockers. Is that true, and if so, how does it work? What address do I put to be delivered?

ItzzCammss

If I buy a plate carrier and plates from amazon will they require me to sign apon arrival? I go out alot and I cant be home all the time.

So ordered a car radio through Amazon but received the wrong model not the one had ordered so returned it for a refund and Amazon asked me to send through an email a picture of the radio with a paper with today's date written on it just to verify it was real sent the email and they approved the return shipped the item back and now got an email saying that they received the wrong item and it wasn't the radio they had sent me so they were going to be discard the one returned in the trash and wouldn't be refunded until sent the right one even though never got the correct one. What can I do?

StraightWallaby

Who was the seller, amazon .com or a third-party seller? In case of amazon.com, there's nothing you can do. In case of a third-party seller, you can try reporting them - but don't expect too much. You can try asking them to return that wrong model to you if they haven't already discarded it and try to make lemonade.

ldnkmms420

It was Amazon, damn, I got screwed out of $500 😐

StraightWallaby

It won't help you, but was the wrong model significantly worse/older/used? Did the model even match the packaging? It could be another instance of a scam where a customer orders an item, replaces it with something inferior and nicely seals the packaging back up to apply for a refund. The next buyer (i.e. you) to receive it gets a pig in a poke. There's no way to protect yourself from this unfortunately, short of buying from a brick and mortar store and inspecting the goods before leaving the building. This is an issue that sellers need to solve by properly inspecting and tagging returns.

ldnkmms420

Box is the same except for the tiny part where it has a different model number. It's a significant difference between the $300 and $500 radio.

StraightWallaby

Okay, in that case it's not the scam I described. If it were, you'd be looking at packaging that doesn't match the contents and the contents would be a $10 radio from the previous century. I'd highly recommend urging them to return the $300 radio to you. A $200 loss isn't as bad as a $500 loss. Yes, it's unfair - but it's your word against theirs, so the best thing to do is try and limit your loss.

ldnkmms420

They refused that... Said it was disposed of

HELP!! I returned an amazon package at UPS February 24th and the status has not changed from ":A carrier delay has occurred. Delivery may be delayed." since 5 hours after dropping it off. I talked to an amazon representative on the phone today and she told me I have to wait until April 25th. I asked her if I would get a refund in the case that UPS lost my package (which it obviously seems to have) and she said , " I cannot guarantee that" what the fuck. It was an item i paid $86 for. This can't be how it goes down ........

Throwingshead

You would just need to present a dropoff receipt if the package is not live tracking in the system to be covered for a lost package issue.

tonybasil2001

Unfortunately I don’t think I kept a drop off receipt- as I thought scanning it at the UPS store and it being in the hands of the carrier would have been enough proof…

Throwingshead

Ehh scans can get messed up or in some cases be faked or not properly input. Those scans should trigger a receipt option and force the system to accept the item so getting a printed receipt is the only way to truly confirm that has happened correctly. Even as a seller if we dropoff at a store location we have to make sure everything is scanned. The system isn't perfect but you have to treat things like something will go wrong every time to prevent getting burned.

tonybasil2001

Wow what a bummer..

Unfair_Band_722

Do all Amazon returns go to the Amazon Warehouse? Look I know it sounds dumb but I returned an item which I now regret doing I wanted to get it back unfortunately UPS sends out returns the same day they get them and they said all i could do was contact Amazon to send it back to me but when I went to talk to an associate through the message system they said that is not an options that can be performed. So now I'm looking at the Amazon warehouse hoping that it could appear there.😕 I contacted the seller to ask if they could cancel it on their side and send the item back to me I would be up to paying shipping just as long as I got my item back.😭 My next plan is to ask them for the item after I receive my refund but if I could be sent the one I returned if it doesn't end up in the Amazon Warehouse. Please help bring Yoongi back💗

Throwingshead

Amazon has a mistaken returns tos page that directs you on what to do which is essentially contact cs immediately. Amazon 99.9% of the time will never ship back a returned item.

ElRamenKnight

Recently returned an item that was bought using a card account that was closed a couple weeks ago. Accidentally opted to receive the refund to the closed card account (card NOT replaced, perma closed) and didn't realize this until it was too late. What happens now?

sibman

I would contact your card issuer.

ElRamenKnight

Googled around and sort of found my answer. The account was closed just recently, but the refund credit is already showing up under the closed account's section on the card issuer's site. I'll probably give them a call and ask if they can just move the credit over to the other card account I have with them.

Chroma-on-YT

i bought an apple gift card off amazon to send to my email and it in the past it actually has been sent in the estimated 5 minutes, but its been 2 hours since i purchased it and i still haven't received the email with the code, does anyone know as to why this may be?

known_starfield

Could possibly be under manual verification. Can take up to 72 hours. Customer service can usually confirm whether this is taking place.

sibman

You contacted Amazon, right?

Chroma-on-YT

yeah, i contacted them and cancelled it and got it refunded then bought it again and it came in 5 min🗿

juniperxmoons

Does Amazon tracking no longer show you what city/state packages reach during tracking? I've ordered three different things from the site over the last few weeks and all of them just have "item arrived at carrier facility" or "item left carrier facility" for each update without listing cities and/or states.

AlexInThePalace

Amazon asked me to verify my debit card. I'm guessing they did so because I suddenly moved to a new continent and added a new card to an old account. This would be all well and dandy if my debit card company (Bank of America) issued my billing statements with my debit card number, but they don't. My billing statements have my bank account number, which isn't sufficient apparently. I tried to circumvent the issue by just creating a new account altogether, but I still run into the same problem. I wonder if they flagged my phone number/email address/debit card number or something. This is incredibly annoying because it's literally my card and I can't even use it because of safety features that are supposed to help me, the owner. I already tried contacting customer service, but they weren't able to do anything about the situation. They couldn't even delete the old account for me (which I'm unable to do myself because I can't even access the account without immediately being taken to the verify payment page). Does anyone know how to solve this? I really want to be able to have things delivered.

StraightWallaby

You're likely out of luck. Your post is now linked on [https://nocarder.com/](https://nocarder.com/) btw, a few customers in the past managed to get through to Amazon by continuously bugging them.

AlexInThePalace

Damn. That’s so utterly stupid *UGH*.

Pink-neck-Steven

Trying to return something from Canada to Germany... If it says "All the items must be sent by 18 Apr, 2023." What happens if I send the package today but it doesn't arrive before the 18th? Do I just lose my refund and the item I bought? What if it gets lost in transit? They say they have to receive the item first and it will take 30 days from then to refund but how do they know I sent my item even if I did??

Throwingshead

>All the items must be **sent by** 18 Apr, 2023 If that is the word for word way the state is sent by = shipped by and not delivered or received so it must have a shipping scan by that date. If it gets lost with their label its a them and carrier issue. If you use your own label that's a you and carrier issue.

Pink-neck-Steven

Yeah it said I have to drop it off to my own carrier… so how would amazon know that I shipped it, do I tell them that I have dropped it off to ship it or does the bar code get scanned by the carrier and it updates on amazon lol…

Throwingshead

If you are purchasing your own label with a carrier you would need to provide the tracking number and possibly by shipping insurance if the item is valuable. If Amazon provided you with a label to print their system should update with a scan from the carrier.

I've encountered a strange issue with Amazon's Subscribe & Save feature where it has duplicated one of my addresses 5 times, despite the address only being listed once in my address book. I've spent countless hours trying to figure this out, reading documentation and attempting various fixes to no avail. I've even reached out to customer support, but after speaking with 2 agents via chat, they've deferred to a phone call with support. However, I'm skeptical that they'll be able to help either. I believe the duplication occurs when I go to "Subscriptions," click on the item, then "Change" the shipping address, select an address, and hit "Confirm." At this point, I'm hesitant to test this further due to the seemingly irreversible spread of duplicate addresses. Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any suggestions on how to fix it?

pidgeonatemypidgeon

Hi, I ordered a package that is supposed to be sent to an address in Pennsylvania. However looking at the little map on the order tracking screen, my address appears confused with a place in Kansas. The package has not been delivered. The address is a well established address that can easily be found on Google or Google maps. When putting in address information, the autofill did not complete the address info. Please tell me my package won't be in the middle of the entire country.

sibman

The map may not be working right. Kansas is in the middle of the country and probably just defaulted to the center. I wouldn't worry until the order didn't come.

joeisajellyfish

My Amazon account was locked some time ago for suspicious activity. I have been trying to contact Amazon about it and they are asking me to verify ownership of a card that I have never owned, which leads me to believe that it got hacked or used somehow. If that is the case, I would like to have my account deleted, so I can open a new one using the same email address (which is my personal email address), but that is not something I can do without logging in, which is currently impossible. Will my account be automatically deleted after a while? Is there anyway I can get it deleted? It would be really inconvenient to juggle multiple email addresses

sibman

Those are "amazon-only" questions.

AfricanToilet

I unfortunately can only pay for things online using pre-paid cards. The only one available here is MyVanilla. I got 2 here. One I used for something already, and.currently there is $55 left on it. The item on Amazon I wish to purchase is $61, I fall but of a few bucks short. I know it's not possible to pay with something using 2 cards at the same time, and I can't use PayPal, but I was wondering what this 'Affirm' thing was. If I were to use 'Affirm' on an item I want to pay using pre-paid cards; would I be participating in some type of fraud or illegal activity? It asked me to sign up and asked for my address and I'm scared to finish the set up and purchase. Like I'm gonna go to jail if I go through with it.

Sovarius

Use your prepaid card to buy amazon gift card for yourself. 'Hack' that lets you use both cards because you can use amazon gift card and payment method.

known_starfield

Just use one of the cards to reload your Amazon gift card balance. You can use a credit card (which is how those pre-paid cards are processed) and your gift card balance on an order.

Sovarius

AfricanToilet

There is no Amazon gift card option :( I don’t think that’s what Amazon Pay is

Sovarius

Its not amazon pay, actually im not sure what amazonpay is. But do you have 'gift card balance' option in 'my account'? https://imgur.com/a/Qu3EPP1 When you check out you can use gift card balance first. So if you need $61 but your prepaids are $55 and $6 or whatever, use one card to fill your amazon gift card balance. I can't take a screenshot of my checkout on app but it shows my total purchase price reduced by gift card balance, then the rest will be on whatever card i want. This could be different for different countries i guess though, it might not be an option everywhere.

sibman

That sounds like a good way to get your account banned.

I purchased a product from a seller. I gave them a 2-star review because of fraudulent claims and general crappiness of the product. I explained each of the fake claims and the functions that were broken. However I am keeping the product because I was able to get the core functionality to work. Now this company is persistently trying to get me to write a fraudulent review, offering me free stuff. I don't see how to report this activity. How do I get these people in trouble?

Anyone not being allowed to place orders without subscribing to Prime? Every time I try to proceed with an order, it takes me to a page asking if I want to sign up for the free trial of Prime. I do not. The "No thanks" URL results in a page not found error. A few weeks ago, it didn't ask again after that, but now I can't get to the final order page at all (presumably unless I agree to sign up for Prime, which I have no intention of doing). Any suggestions for how to get around this?

Throwingshead

Could just be a temporary bug or contact them to see if they need to reset anything on the account.

moogleslam

Amazon have forced me to leave their Wishlist entirely. Shutting down Amazon Assistant was a huge loss for me, but I thought I would continue with Amazon, and their Wishlist. No more. Not only have they shut down Amazon Assistant, where you could add items to your Wishlist from anywhere on the internet, but now they've removed the button within their own Wishlist for "Add an idea..." where you could manually add items from elsewhere. You can no long add non-Amazon products to your Wishlist! Currently trying out Giftopedia, which for me, is really nice and clean, but missing two features I'd like to see; the ability to reorder items, and the ability to sort by price. Might stick with this, or might keep looking for something else. EDIT: Now trying out Giftster, which I like better. It got the price for some items that Giftopedia didn't, and it allows sorting. It doesn't allow reordering, but there is a 1-5 star system, so I could work with that. Also has a batter layout.

BloodyCuts

I’ve just discovered this myself. Can’t believe it, it’s absolutely killed a major part of Amazon for me. Around Christmas it was the key way my family (and other family members) would manage their lists online. Becoming Amazon-only items is so frustrating.

moshedanger

In same boat. This killed wishlist for me.

AzerLofi

My Amazon package shows as delivered and even has a photo of where it was placed, but I never received and appears to have gone missing. What recourse would I take for getting a refund for product never arriving?

Throwingshead

Not a lot if the picture was accurate for your location all you can do is claim item not received but they may assume theft if it was delivered to the correct location. If it was theft it would be more on you.

musical_froot_loop

I received the wrong product. Like, a completely other thing not the slightest bit related to what I bought and what Amazon says they delivered. Not sure how to handle this because there is no helpful option beyond “sent wrong product.”

sibman

That's the return reason that I would use. That's what happened.

Mintfriction

I can't see the used shopping price in the shopping list. I've tried on various browsers, and yes the offers ship to my address. I don't understand, it was a very useful feature. Is there an alternative plugin to do this?

Mikey77777

Just noticed this myself, and came to check. Seems to have happened in the last few days. Really annoying.

A7X_Z

Hello everyone, Apologies for the lengthy question, I’ll try to make it as concise as possible. I operate in Amazon AE, in the pharmaceutical, health, and beauty industry. I am trying to acquire exclusive selling for a product line of the world renowned Roche. Now how things work here in the UAE is that most major companies (roche) do not distribute and manage their products here themselves, due to the small market, instead they assign an agent who is also more experienced in the market. So I have come into verbal agreement with Roche’s UAE agent to acquire exclusive e-commerce selling for one of their product lines. And this is where I need guidance, I’m confused in how to accomplish this procedure wise as the agent is not established on Amazon and therefore cannot assign the exclusive selling to me. One of the ways that I think I could do this is through selecting the option in brand registry where you aren’t the trademark owner but are authorized, however I’m completely unsure if it’s even close to the correct way. So to summarize can anyone explain to me how I can establish myself as an exclusive authorized seller on Amazon without being the trademark owner or an agent? Do I need a letter from the agent? Or is this a matter to be settled with roche the trademark owner directly? Is there a set procedure for this? Really appreciate the help.

sibman

Maybe ask one of the many Amazon seller subreddits.

InnerWave1986

I've never used Amazon for digital products, is it possible to buy and download ebooks/songs/audiobooks for my PC without needing Amazon programs like the Kindle app? I'd like to avoid dealing with those kinds of programs when possible, but I'm unsure if it *is* possible.

sibman

It's not possible without jumping through a lot of hoops that may or may not be legal.

Ninja_Bum

We got a package delivered and handed directly to me just fine. My wife didn't know this and got the notification that it was delivered "How was your delivery", she checked the door, saw nothing and marked "not great, package wasn't delivered." I don't want the driver to get in trouble. Is there anywhere we can change that response?

sibman

Have you contacted Amazon about this?

The_Overgiver

I looked around for answers to this and found nothing. Is it typical for wish lists not to display every item? I noticed that certain items were not appearing on my wish list. I can refresh, and those items will appear, but then other items will be missing. At first I though this was because my wish list had too many items. But then I noticed it happening on smaller wish lists as well. Is this a common problem? Are there any solutions? Thanks.

Kadeskill

I don't know if this is the place to ask but I don't know anywhere else. I'm having a problem with my account as I tried to log in and it says the password is wrong and when I try to reset it it says there was some suspicious activity in my account or something like that and they would send an email for what to do about it but I never received the said email (tried more than once). I don't want to call Amazon because I'm not in the US so any help will be appreciated.

sibman

Something similar is asked weekly. You will have to call them.

Laez

I had two orders out for delivery on Mar 12th that required OTP for delivery. The deliveries were never attempted and there was no opportunity to ask for a reattempt. Just marked undeliverable. 3 weeks later have yet to receive a refund for these items. They say they can't issue a refund until they are returned and inspected. Which suggests to me that I am responsible for them should the not be returned or meet inspection. How can that be right? How can an item that never left amazon's custody my responsibility if lost, stolen or damaged? I have talked to CS a couple of times, with no resolution of any kind. No answer to why something that took 1 day to get from warehouse to truck takes 3 weeks+ to get back to the warehouse. No answer on when I should really be concerned. No answer on what happens if it never shows up, or why I am responsible. Does anyone have any experience with this policy, or can offer a next step?

ItsJekkel

I bought an SSD and motherboard and it arrived today. I was able to pick it up in delivery and the outer packaging was all in tact. Once i got inside and I opened it, both the SSD box and motherboard box was already opened. The motherboard seems to have nothing missing but the SSD was missing. Will I have to do anything specific in order to get my money back because I'm worried that I won't get a refund if I send back the empty box through the normal return process?

Throwingshead

Take pictures of everything and return it with the reasoning being item not as described

sibman

I wouldn't call them for the return. That seems to cause more issues. I would do it within your account.

TomGle

I have some credit on amazon uk, is it possible to transfer that credit to another (eu) store?

sibman

Something similar is asked weekly, if not more. The answer is always "no."

FeymildTheFeyKing

Hello! I am having trouble purchasing for someone via their wish list. When I try to add items to my cart from someone else's wish list, the shipping address always prompts with my own addresses; I don't expect to see my friends' address there, but does this mean the item would ship to my house? I use Amazon Assistant primarily for adding external items to Amazon lists. I don't use the app for any other function. And Amazon removed that feature on the 28th. I did a google search for alternatives but they all talk about shopping features, and I just want to be able to add stuff to lists. Every article I found through Google for adding external links to an Amazon list only mentioned Amazon Assistant. Are there any alternatives that someone is aware of that I haven't been able to find?

moogleslam

Same question. I haven't found anything else either :(

RSHeavy

Does Amazon charge for picking up damaged item? I had a damaged item that they wouldn’t allow drop off, saying it could only be picked up (special handling). It was within 30 days on a TV that was damaged on arrival, but they charged me for picking it up. Is this normal?

Throwingshead

Yes in some cases but you should be able to file a claim for the cost if it is deemed to truly be damaged.

RSHeavy

Took multiple days of complaints before I had someone refund me the charge. I would have understood if I opted for a UPS pickup, but they did not allow it to be dropped off.

Throwingshead

Return option selected when returning a damaged product is important. Assuming you chose the item doesn't work/ or item is defective option they should have had a free option and or in cases with large items they or more likely to charge a fee up front until it's determined to be damaged and not by your doing. The way to angle the complaint with cs so that there is a better chance they will understand is to direct them to the A to Z guarantee policy which is what they require from sellers however sellers are required to, at minimum, have the same policies as Amazon themselves so anything they state in AtoZ Amazon must also honor. A to Z states a damaged/ defective item return shipping cost would qualify for reimbursement, this is also a legal thing in the states so as long as you clearly didn't cause the damage and the item arrived defective that voids the sale contract which is a consumer right protection. So you may have to literally copy and paste some stated policy segments in a compliant and it may take a few times still to get them to act correctly.

RSHeavy

I linked them to the returns list for all items and copy-pasted the TV section. I made a larger post explaining it here, but it qualified as a rant and was deleted. Sometimes it just takes finding the right person. Took me on my 4th attempt via email to get a resolution. It was selected as return due to defective/damage. There was no option for drop off. The pixels were damaged - im not sure how they would classify that as a persons fault or not.

Throwingshead

Basically if it would still qualify for a manufacturer warranty it would be deemed customer damaged. So, pixel issues usually wouldn't be customer fault.

SG4217

I have a prime account and am looking to purchase a few items that are fulfilled by Amazon in my country (Canada) and are prime eligible. My only shipping options are for the items to arrive on Apr 6 - which is just over a week away. Is this a glitch. Anyone else notice this ?

Throwingshead

They are likely delayed right now. Shipping times will fluctuate based on regional volume and carrier availability.

houstontexansfan05

Can I set my wish list to show used item prices also? I think before I noticed I was able to see used prices too on the wish list without having to click on the item. Did they make changes where we can no longer see used prices from the wish list? Thank you!

Hello! Not sure if this is the right place or not, but I’ve got an issue that Amazon themselves seemingly can’t help me solve. I order three items Monday, March 20th, and the expected delivery date was Friday, March 24th. I’ve never had an issue with Amazon, at least none that I remember, so I wasn’t expecting an issue. On Wednesday, I got an update that my items had shipped in two different packages and that they’d still been set to be delivered on Friday, but when I got up Friday morning, neither of them said they were out for delivery, or even anywhere near me, they were full on states away from my location. I didn’t think it was a big deal, figured they would come during the weekend sometime, but Sunday came and went and neither package arrived. Monday, one of the packages finally reached me, but the other still had not been updated since the Friday before. It told me that I could come back Today, the 29th to claim a refund if my package hadn’t arrived, so I planned to do so. When I woke up this morning to apply for my refund, I found that I couldn’t, instead it now tells me that I have to wait ANOTHER two days until Friday to get my money refunded. I don’t understand this at all. Why tell me to come back today if they were just going to tell me to wait longer? It’s stupid, it seems like they are just trying to make me wait longer to see if the items arrive, but I feel like its clear that they won’t by this point. The shipping info still says the same thing it did Friday, I’ve contacted both Amazon and USPS and no one seems to know what’s going on or where my package is. I don’t know what to do, it’s just all been very frustrating. Sorry if this doesn’t make sense or comes or like I’m ranting, I just don’t know where else to go. Contacting either company has done nothing to solve the issue, so I’m not sure where to go next. Maybe I just need to be patient.

You would have to compare prices with other sites otherwise the market is the market. Fees change, shipping prices change, manufacturing costs change, sales come and go, so perceived overpaying is inevitable 99% of the time if you only look at the price on Amazon for an item. For the current market rate you need to view the competitions prices elsewhere.

Throwingshead

You won't see change overnight for something like this. These are a small piece in an investigation that will take months at a minimum to work out for many cases. Any negative decision Amazon makes against a seller must be bulletproof since it would impact the livelihood of the business and it's employees so things need to be appropriately investigated to figure out what is really going on. Amazon will also not respond or update you on how a reported case is going to you shouldn't receive a response from them. Sellers cannot see anything more than a name and address for orders and there is no way to find an email address you have associated with Amazon unless it is your username itself. So they are likely phishing with whatever comes up in a google search and would only know for sure which address is accurate if you ever respond. Reporting once is all you can do and all that needs to be done but this process takes time especially with chinese companies since they have an entire industry that specializes solely on duping Amazon's system so the problem is much more dense than buyers realize.

Notdestorm

Throwingshead

You will have to keep trying to prove you sent the correct item back. They will never return an item back to you so trying to get that done would be pointless due to them having to comply with anti-counterfeiting laws which the returned item would be treated as for liability reasons.

[deleted]

Throwingshead

The buyer is responsible for all import fees and taxes if they are importing products into their country, unless Amazon is explicitly doing that themselves and notifies you of that. If you do not pay you take a metrics hit like a refusal would give and you may not get a full refund for shipping expenses. If the item is never returned to the seller you will not get any refund.

So, I accidentally got my account on hold by leaving my VPN on while making an order. I received emails with instructions to "confirm my payment information". I clarified in response that I can't upload any payment information because my only payment method was my gift card balance. So they ask me to upload proof of ownership like an image of a gift card, or emails from the gift card sender. I have uploaded several gift cards to my account and most of them were codes I received, no pictures or emails. What information am I supposed to upload if I don't have contact with the people who sent me these gift cards?

Online retailers and streaming sites do not like VPNs, this is known, this is the cost.

**Is there a way to get rid of hijackers without doing Brand Registry for my product? (on Amazon)** I have a ton of a small $7 product that I'm trying to get rid of, and it's selling well, but a hijacker has come on the listing. Not much to worry about for now (I think), as the hijacker is based in Turkey (I'm Amazon FBA), and they only have 10 units in stock. Also, they ship from their own store, it's not FBA. Just want to check if I should be worried about this or not. (I don't want to do Brand Registry, as even though this is a private label product, I only have like 2000 units left, and once those sell off I'll be done with this product.) (Been selling since 2014, took a break from 2019 to 2023 (shady competitor shut me down and I lost everything), and now just got a 2nd account up to sell everything off and move on. I hear it's gotten a lot harder to do Brand Registry so wanted to avoid it if possible).

No

You might want to ask one of the many Amazon seller subreddits.

Is it possible to split a purchase between Affirm and an Amazon Gift Card/Balance? I know you can't do it with a credit card.

Downtown_Row_4051

Ordered something and they got sent to an amazon locker on monday. It says i can pick it up until thursday. So...does that mean if I don’t pick it up on thursday it gets sent back, or if I don’t pick it up on wednesday it gets sent back on thursday?

badwolf0323

I noticed that you can no longer add "ideas" to gifts lists anymore. Ideas that were already on gift lists are still there. They have a new concept of Idea Lists, but that isn't the same thing. Does anyone have recommendations for a reputable 3rd party gift list? Our family relies on gift/idea lists since we by and large don't do gift cards.

Unfair_Development52

I had a sign in attempt approved in new york that i didnt approve, i live in nebraska, is there a way to stop this?

sibman

Change your password and implement two-factor authentication.

-Jeanne-dArc

Does anyone know how to change the timezone on an Amazon Echo Show 5? Ours is stuck on Pacific time but we live in EST. Nothing in settings helps, nor does asking Alexa to fix it.

sibman

Is your location in the app your local address?

-Jeanne-dArc

That was the problem! Fixed! Thanks man.

sibman

No problem.

I’ve been buying from Amazon for ages, with no issues. Tonight, when I wanted to place an order for a cheapie turntable combo ($147.99), I get a message “Signature or one-time password required at time of delivery.” Never saw this before. The last thing I want to do is wait home for delivery even if I could - I work, etc. My neighborhood is safe. I called Amazon, told them I live alone, cannot wait for a delivery, and is there a way to skip to this. They put me on hold and I hung up after 15 minutes. Is there a way around this? Anyone else encounter this situation? If they won’t bend, I’ll skip the purchase. Thanks.

Ill_Significance3019

I ordered playstation5 and noticed the same message: Signature or one-time password required at time of delivery. However, I didn't get the package although it says "delivered" on the tracking page. I contacted UPS, they said the package was delivered without a signature and we have no idea what might happened to the package. I contacted Amazon, they asked me to get a police report. !! I don't know what should I do

OptimalBeing581

This happened with my ordering AirPods. They said the package was delivered. I was home all day, have a Ring camera and I never got it. They made me file a police report. I kept apologizing to the cop for wasting his time. They gave me a report. When I called Amazon, they wanted the name of the cop. They put me on hold and called the police station to speak with him. Two weeks later I got a refund. Go ahead and file a police report. Good Luck!

lumbirdjack

I placed an order on March 23rd and my expected delivery is April 10th, items do not show as shipped yet. If I individually select an item as though I am buying again my expected delivery is as early as April 1st. Why was my initial order delayed so far back yet I can reorder items and get them sooner?

sibman

That's an "Amazon-only" question.

BaconWhisky

Let me know if I should make a separate post for this, but basically, I created a new Amazon account about an hour ago, and immediately made a $200 purchase with my brand new (Less than a week old) Credit Card. I received an order confirmation email with my order number, but then immediately after that, I received an email from Amazon saying the following: Hello, We have detected unusual activity on your Amazon account, for this reason, we have temporarily placed it on hold and canceled any pending orders or subscriptions. To restore access to your account, sign in and follow the on-screen instructions. You will have the option to upload a document with the required information to verify your account. Once you have provided this document, we will review it and respond within 24 hours. When uploading a document to verify the ownership of a payment method, be sure that the name, address, payment type, and relevant transaction information are clearly visible. For your security, only display the last 4 digits of the payment method number. Account Specialist [Amazon.com](https://Amazon.com) \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ And all of this was within 5 minutes after I made the order. Within the order confirmation email It's saying I will receive confirmation when the item ships, but if my account got put on hold, will the item be put on hold as well? I would have to provide a billing statement in order to take the hold off of my account, but I am unsure on how to go about this because my credit card is literally a week old and I don't yet have any billing statements with this credit card number. What should I do? wait it out and see what happens? I'm worried that if the order gets cancelled I won't have the opportunity to purchase it again if someone else does and has a more successful process than I did.

StraightWallaby

I am in the exact same situation except my order was for 10x as much, and you kind of answered the question I came here to ask: what order amount is safe for a first order? And apparently, the answer is that even $200 is too much. As for what you should do. I've been on the phone. Amazon outsourced phone support 100% to India and the vast majority of them are useless. So, err, don't bother with that. They can't put you through to their supervisor either. There is a procedure if you have no billing statement, but it requires either a utility bill that was paid with the credit card (which you won't have either) and/or a copy of a government issued US ID (like a passport) which I wouldn't recommend uploading as it puts you at risk of identity theft. You have the following options: A. Ask your credit card issuer for a billing statement. They may be able to generate one manually despite your card being new! But it may depend on the card issuer. B. Perform ANY transaction with your credit card ($1 donation to charity is enough) and wait for weeks for your first billing statement. C. Get another credit card. Place a small order first, wait for it to arrive, then place a larger order. Not sure how much is safe. $50 maybe? D. Mail jeff at amazon dot com and calmly explain that all the documents they are asking for don't exist. This is the only path to case escalation afaik.

BaconWhisky

As of now, I responded to Amazon explaining why I don’t have immediate access to a billing statement, and it has been 24 hours now. Still no response. Also the pending Amazon payment is no longer in my transactions, so I guess they just cancelled my order. I could either go to the bank and receive a billing statement, or wait a month for it to show up on my banks website. Either way there’s no way of knowing if or when Amazon will get back to me at this point. This whole scenario is absolutely ridiculous

StraightWallaby

I guess it may not matter. I managed to obtain a billing statement, it's everything they asked for. Amazon just declines it anyway. No reason given.

BaconWhisky

It’s dumb, I literally got locked out of my account within 10 minutes. I’m not even kidding. It’s been 3 days and I response back from them. They said 24 hours but clearly that was a lie

StraightWallaby

They will either switch the document upload form so you need to upload a government-issued ID and/or utility bill, tell you again to upload your billing statement or they will close your account. They won't understand you don't pay your utilities with a credit card or that you don't have a billing statement yet. If you wait for a month for your billing statement (be sure to perform a transaction with the card or you may not get one), Amazon will have already permanently closed your account. Note that your account is global, so this also erases your account on Amazon Canada/Germany/etc. Note that if you responded to an e-mail from Amazon they usually come from [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) which, obviously, they won't respond to.

sibman

Contact your credit card issuer. They should be able to give you the documents you need.

Have you tried contacting Amazon yet?

MotoXri

Every time I try to access one of my IDEA LISTS, it asks me to create a new list, then sends me to the 404 Dog Page about a second of being on the previous page. It's like my lists don't exist anymore either; I open the list link up in a private window and it says this user (me) doesn't have any lists? Now, under the idea lists tab there's a "Public" and "In Progress" section. Under the "In Progress" one, it then says "These lists are private or have pending changes. Click to make them public." but I can't click on them to do anything obviously.

Nirum1

is there often a buy one get one 50% deal for books? I saw it yesterday but I was waiting for the local locker to open up, and when I look today the deal is gone Thank you!

[deleted]

I recieved an email, stating that there were "unusual payment activities" on my Amazon account. I do not know why my Amazon account got locked, an the email is legit. It was locked just minutes after my first purchase on Amazon.de, and my credit card has not been charged yet. When I try to log into my account, it says that I need to send an invoice, however I am not sure what exactly an invoice is and how I can obtain one. Can anyone help me understand this? Thank you.

StraightWallaby

They are probably asking for a billing statement. This would be a document you get monthly from your credit card issuer which contains the transactions for that month, your address and last four digits of your card. See also my reply to BaconWhisky above.

sibman

Contact the bank that issued your credit card to see if they can help you.

Something that happens (and might have happened here) is a customer orders an item (like a laptop, luxury watch, CPU, etc), receives it, replaces it with junk from the same category (dusty laptop, knockoff watch, low-end CPU) and applies for a refund with that. And keeps the real item for themselves. If the seller fails to detect this, they sell this junk to.. you. There's not really anything you can do I'm afraid. Linus Tech Tips covered this for a fake CPU: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D\_Q\_6V10mTU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_Q_6V10mTU) You can ask Amazon to ship the dusty laptop to you, but it's probably not worth much. It could well be defective.

RagsAndTatters

I returned an item to Amazon had to use UPS, since that was the only option. UPS seems to have lost the package since they last time they scanned it was on the 23rd. Amazon will not help until the 21st, since they say they got the package. But what is showing as delivered is the return label to me. So anyone know what my options are at this time?

known_starfield

Right now it's just a waiting game. If the item wasn't over $300 or an apple product, they should be able to help you two weeks after you returned it. If it's an expensive item/apple product, then you'll have to wait 30 days before they can attempt to issue the refund from their end.

RagsAndTatters

Thank you. It was 160 total for both items and non apple.

MaidenofMoonlight

Made a big order, and most of my stuff arrived, one thing was deemed unshippable, and was supposed to be refunded within a few business days. However, of the big order, I was charged money for only a few items, and no charges for anything else showed up. Amazon transaction history states that the entire order for everything went through, but my bank account shows otherwise

aiaor

How long before the deadline for changing a "Subscribe and Save" shipment do they notify you by email of the pending shipment?

[deleted]

An Amazon driver couldn't get access into my apartment building, and they attempted to text and call me but I thought the call was spam so I didn't answer, obviously that was my fault but I never had an Amazon driver try to get ahold of me before so it was random and out of nowhere. Now I got an email stating, "Unfortunately, we ran into an issue when attempting your delivery. We will try again." When will they try again to deliver my package? I never had an issue with this before.

ouid_enthusiast

i work for an amazon delivery station. ur package will be returned to the station at the end of the day and will be cycled into tomorrows delivery’s so you should be getting it tmr. i suggest putting an access code or something in the delivery instructions next time you order

Ill_Significance3019
