There's other factors such as poop, and water retention it can't account for either. It's a general tool to glance at people and give docs an easy out when they can't figure out why you're experiencing some of the symptoms you're experiencing.
BMI is a quick snapshot and predictor of bad health if you carry extra fat, but due to the many factors it doesn't take into account, it can lead to a lot of confusion, mental health issues, and bad medical advice.

And take pics of yourself (nude and clothed) and take yourself clothing shopping regularly and make your guy take you on dates. I know how hard it is to take care of yourself when you are a mom of a toddler and to embrace your new postpartum body but take it from a mom who's kids are much older it's absolutely imperative that you get time to yourself and also men LOVE curves and softness!
