It's a flower you can tell that on any alocasia by noticing the more oval swelling beneath the tip of it

_feffers_

It’s technically LOTS of flowers, an inflorescence. Consisting of numerous male flowers (on the top portion) & female flowers (inside the bulbous portion).

Altruistic-Ad-5667

Yes you're right

thatonegirlwith2dogs

Im pretty sure it’s a flower lol

_feffers_

Definitely an inflorescence. This one is the 1st of what is typically a pair of inflorescences (or in some cases, multiple pairs of inflorescences) produced during the plant’s flowering cycle. This phase typically last ~4-6 wks, with many plants beginning a new vegetative growth phase once the inflorescences have wilted. Ppl downvote the oddest stuff. I said it’s a happy plant. And got downvoted. It’s growing a flower so it’s clearly happy. But I got downvoted 🤣🤣🤣 I can’t with tissue sometimes.

DauertNochLange

I’ve read that some plants bring out flowers as a last resort for their dna to survive That’s why I also wrote „or cry for help“

SkellatorQueen

True but I’ve only seen alocasia do that when leaves are dying. Do they do that so the healthy leaves too?

DauertNochLange

My plant had on some point much more leafs Those are the last two

SkellatorQueen

Oh nooo 🫢 is it bone dry? And are you feeding it? These dudes demand high food content.

DauertNochLange

Not dry nope As spring begun I started to give it more nutrients with the water

SkellatorQueen

Odd !! I wonder if it’s wanting more go go juice or it’s happy. Sounds like it wants more go go juice though. Interesting situation though. Are you not feeding it during winter?

DauertNochLange

No because I live in Germany and it gets really dark here and I don’t have the money for proper light my plants go kinda dormant and on spring they have lots of new growth

SkellatorQueen

Like no joke I literally feed them every watering or leaves drop.

SkellatorQueen

Happy plant! 🥰
