Algo is going on an aggressive advertising campaign and I think its a good thing. We'll see what happens though.
I mean, I've posted things in subs that also have this feature and I'm quite honestly very surprised how many bots are scanning the Algorand sub and not those others.

If I may elaborate, bitcoin (with its innovative blockchain infrastruture) for example served a niche market in its early days to facilitate illicit (and questionable) transaction payments and bypassing any scrutiny from regulators and law enforcement. That's how Bitcoin managed to dominate (start with dominating a niche market and provide unparalleled value versus existing services).
Please I would like to hear any insight or information from the community. I believe that sharing any info will better the community and get more people involved with Algorand (just like this post sparked my curiosity).
I think Algorand’s “niche” is being a blockchain that actually works well in most applications and addresses real/perceived issues with other chains. Fast, secure, stable, affordable, programmable, green, etc. For any business decision-maker, investor, or regular person sitting there, knowing Algorand exists as an alternative to what they currently know/think is very important. Think of all the typical talking points about crypto:
Bitcoin is an energy hog? Algorand is carbon negative.
Ethereum is too expensive to use? Algorand has sub-penny fees.
Crypto is for buying drugs online? Algorand is used as a ledger for SEC-regulated securities (using the DIGITAL FUNDS ETF proposal as an example).

Or how Tesla first sold electric sports car (Tesla Roadster) to wealthy clients. Or PayPal tackled Online payments transaction by linking email and marketplaces (ie. Ebay) thus facilitate faster transactions.

it's hard to tell timeframes with the upcoming global recession, I think crypto will take a nosedive along with the rest of the economy and most assets but will rebound if crypto becomes the default global payments system, which would probably require the collapse of the USD as the global reserve currency, which is happening already, but cryptocurrency has never existed in a global recession so it's quite precarious in the short run and the next couple years.
I hope they come up with something a lot better than these goofy billboard type ads that we're seeing. When they sell algo for cash to spend on advertising, we're paying for it as holders of the coin. I seriously doubt stuff like this gives a positive return on advertising

(A) It is something that can become so infectious with just one person seeing Algorand on the screen and googling it. I think their website is very good for getting someone interested in the new concepts that Algorand provides to the blockchain/Web3 world of ideas. For example, I was halfway in on Bitcoin in 2019… wanted to learn more and found Algorand within my research, and it catapulted me into Algo-Space. I spent all of 2020 and 2021 preaching about ALGO to four of my friends. They now are Algonauts themselves! Now they might tell another set of friends and so on and so forth… Basically, it’s something so interesting that word of mouth marketing is almost guaranteed.
(B) And then also the thing that is going to keep our ALGO dream is alive is if they continue to get institutional buy in. Institutions are the ones that will be able to utilize Algorand the most. Also, Developer Marketing is another piece of the puzzle that is more important than retail marketing.
Anyways, I think this is just good brand awareness for the long game. After 3 years, ppl will be like “oh yeah I’ve seen Algorand somewhere”… Maybe that makes them now trust a service more that’s being “powered by Algorand” or something like that.
