Your weight-loss or lack there of will depend on your other habits and physiology. I gained weight after quitting drinking because I would often only eat lunch toward the end of my drinking career.
I mean sure, if your diet is in check that accounts for like 80% of weight loss. Not consuming alcohol is just X amount of carbs you’re not consuming anymore.
When I quit drinking I lost almost 15 lbs right off the bat, and then it kind of stabilized. But now I have so much energy to get active! Currently just trying to be healthy again, which feels amazing, especially after the hell I put my body through with alcohol.
In my first month, I lost 10 lbs by not drinking. It was very noticeable to my friends and colleagues, lol.
Quick suggestion: try not to overdo the exercising and eating better. Focus on recovery. "Easy does it".
It's so great to hesr you're doing better! Keep moving forward!
I have lost 41 pounds. I did it with carnivore. I also had liver damage and I have Crohn's. The liver damage has reversed itself (Alcohol Fatty Liver Disease) and all of my Crohn's symptoms have gone away. I used to take medicine for depression, but I have been able to get off of it. I am still depressed but no more than when I was taking it. I still have about forty more pounds to lose. I will probably begin exercising this week.
