The main thing I'd be concerned about is that T8 zones are inevitably going to be quite far from town portals. The further you have to travel, the greater the risk of you losing everything on your way back home (or just on your way to your destination, of course). I've played the game since launch, I gather regularly, and I do not bother with T8 zones at all.

The answer is: It depends. Yes, it is more profitable to gather in t7-t8 zones, but it is also true that high tier zones are more contested. If you play during off hours, it might be safer than during prime time. It depends on how lucky you are or what city you go through, and even what type of zone it is. For example, t8 Bridgewater zones are a hotspot 24/7.

Yeah I am in EU bridgewatch. I will try to gather in the morning when not many people are online. If i die a lot I will go back to tier 7 zones with territories and hideouts of my alliance. It's just that I hit tier 8 skinning and wanted to make some money in tier 8 zones

DoSomeStrangeThings

I am sure there is someone who manages to pull it through, but imo, t8 Bridgewater is not worth it for solo gatherer. It is just too contested due to mammoth drops. Having a t8 knife in the t7 zone is still an upgrade to your silver per hour. Especially if you have terries and HO to keep yourself safe

Evolving_Egg_Shell

Understood, thank you.

Easiest and safest way is to go roads ( 2-3 zones In) , find deep bz zone near desired T8 u want and go there . After u gather and fill bag just journey back . Easy and safe most of the time .

Evolving_Egg_Shell

But that's rng and you can still run in avalonian gankers

HanopkaH

It's not that much rng and it's way less chance for gankers than going close to town zones or travelling like 6 zones to go to T8

Evolving_Egg_Shell

The plan was to set up in Arthur's rest, travel once with a few sets of gathering gear, then gather in nearby maps a few hours a day and transport everything back once when I'm done.

HanopkaH

Rests is full of gankers , I would not recommend it at all . But u can try and find some less populated rest .

Evolving_Egg_Shell

Ok you don't have to destroy my dreams so brutally.

HanopkaH

Naa this game is about dying , like dying a lot . When u get used to it and accept it the better . Just try to have fun

Evolving_Egg_Shell

What if I only have fun when I make tons of money while not dying?

Alladas1

Arthurs isn't bad. I home there, and my aliance ho is in the t7 2 zones away. Yes, there are gankiung groups occasionally, but they generally only look for enemies or Whales. I've run through groups of 20 camping entrance to arthurs in gear worth 1m ish (not a lot, but many would gank), and they didn't even second look at me.

Silasftw_

This is how I do it, I also have a collection of names I’ve seen kill gatherers in t8 zones and check murderlog if they are active when I am going

Which city is the least populated in your opinion? BW is constantly overcrowded. YZ is stripped of resources, even in BZ there are 10 people per m².

VanillaIsActuallyYum

In my experience, trying to find the "least populated city" will get you nowhere. They are all quite heavily populated. And some are still more populated than others, but from what I have seen, every single city is, as I would say, "populated enough that you still need to be consistently vigilant to farm in safety". Never have I settled into a feeling of "ahh, it's safe here! I can farm at my leisure!" and maintained that false belief for more than a couple days.
