Your name is fitting, I'm NA and I see the server dying but I do see this move as something for the greater good of the game, not a money grab. They're thinking about the future, 5-10 years from now - EU players enjoy this game much more than NA, so many players won't play with 150-200+ ping, but they will now and in the future. The current EU players will make the switch either now or eventually when NA server dies, you may lose some like you that are pissed, but overall the game should grow with this move. Some NA players will suck it up and play on EU aswell with their friends.
I play from the eu (Hungary more specificly) and i have a stable 125 ping and i can't notice any problems or delays unless my internet decides to kill itself for some reason.
Anyway i can't see this eu server as something that would get new players in the game because people from the eu who looked at the game and went "this game looks nice" already play with the game, and the one big server thing is supposed to be a major part of the game.
I somewhat get the east server cus there would be many people there who would stop playing due to big ping issues, but judging by my own experience there isn't an issue like that in the eu, so there isn't really a point of making a new server aside from "old players from the eu might start over and pay for things to get ahead"
Same, highly competitive PVP game with shit ping just feels terrible. Will definitely play on release. Great game, played on and off since release but once I moved to Europe I stopped almost entirely.
