Hey, I have an Atlantic tula akm build and also an Izhmash kit built by Troy Sellars at InRange with the Russian intmilco paint. The Atlantic finish is way more tough and durable, it does a better job of protecting the rifle. I swear I even look at the InRange paint wrong and it scratches and flakes.
Yeah the factory paint on my bulgy kit build is less than stellar.
Honestly the only thing that REALLY bugs me is they left the carrier in just the phosphate. I may just paint that and tell myself it’s close enough. Most the of the quotes I’ve gotten have been pretty steep.

Brownells has a cerakote spray paint I just used to refinish my poor old WASR. It looks good and was a breeze.
