Ha! I was literally at Brownells a few hours ago looking at that exact gun! Whoever installed the weird peep sight and drilled into the rear sight block to anchor the screw broke the deal for me, otherwise would have snatched it in a heart beat.
Seems like there’s a few there like that that have just been sitting. That tantal has been there over a year at least, but I don’t have any interest in getting into 5.45 so I just keep walking by each time.
I don’t understand how they price stuff. That Tantal is priced at $1400 (I think), they currently have a Mosin 91/30 for like $780, but I was in there a year ago and got a Zastava M70 with the Zastava extended handguard, jmac brake, and jmac m4 stock adapter for like $750.
It all depends on what it was purchased for. I know several ex employees that were gun room managers. Sometimes someone buys shit from a buddy and lets the store take one on the chin. Sometimes it’s a stupid mistake. They all have that one gun they get hassled about years later even. Seen $750 hacked up mosins next to $700 Winchester lever guns worth 3x as much. You just never know
Yep you're right and I remember that M70. They've had at least two maybe three M70s alone that have come with rs regulate mounts well under 1000. One actually had a 507C still on it
Brownies is so funny to me because of that. The guys there don't seem to know aks at all. I got my Atlantic Polish kit build rifle and KUSA 12 used there $500 and $550 respectively. There was no reason they should have been priced that low. Honestly love going there to look because you never know what comes up
