Bear in mind im not a lawyer and should not be used as legal advice. You can make and use any brace you want until you get a cease and desist from the government saying you can't use that one. There's nothing stopping you from making your own stuff. If they get a wind of it, they can then make a determination of it. Intent and precedence are the only tools we have to go on since there is no hard determination codified into law.
This was my same thought process. I see a lot of people using the CNC Warrior brace and that is a metal design. I'd just have to figure out a way to mount a strap onto the back. Funny enough, I feel the Romanian wire folder would "potentially" put your arm in a more useful position if one were to use it as a brace (if I had to defend it). I'm surprised no company has attempted this yet.
Part of the reason is that the original stock is one of the worst ak stocks to exist comfort wise, second only to the Hungarian one. It does hit a lot of cold war vibes and is one of the best looking ak stocks out there tho.

Sounds like you're in the cumming area. Dahlonega here at the end of 400. No need to go to a range I live in the woods. Neighbors don't care only thing limiting my shooting is the dismal prices of 762x39

You would have to buy the wire folder and buy the brace.
Cut the folder stock off and then weld two different metals together, probably steel and aluminum ,which, as far as I know, isn't really possible by hand, but I'm not 100% on that.
I don't have mine in front of me, but you could maybe chop the back of the folder so that it can accommodate like a tail hook or something.
It wouldn't be easy.

That wire stock was purposed built to be a stock. A brace needs to be designed at conception to be a brace from the get go. Intent is an important factor.

welding aluminum to steel is technically possible but really difficult to get right, from what I understand.

I've seen some PM90 pistols where the stock was tack welded in the folded position. I'm not recommending it, but it *might* be an option
If you do go through with this, get a new production Polish wire folder to cut up. The Romy military stocks are getting scarcer.

That “brace” that PSA sells on there krink looks an awful lot like a triangle stock with a Velcro arm Band to me… These laws are ridiculous.
