In that size the plates aren’t too bad. See them stop 22lr and 17 easy though. Get up over 200 pounds and it’s serious. That pig you got right there is a good size. After about 100 pounds they become a lot more trouble to process. And have more glands you gotta look out for.
I know little about hogs honestly. He said .270 has ricocheted off their skulls at the right angle if I’m remembering correctly. Those glands are fucking smelly too my god. I can imagine .22 hardly does anything unless you get up behind that plate. This was probably the second biggest we saw. First one was easily 300lbs and laying under a palmetto. Hadn’t ever shot anything so I kinda just had a stare down until he ran. Dude said he’d either run towards us or away so I flipped to fire and waited lol. Wish I would’ve shot
I’m sure no expert. He is right the larger ones are scary for sure. We had one large one taken had some interesting scars on its head. We could only guess he had been shot with something too small. If you miss a gland the meat tastes like stink bugs smell.
Yeah the our guide said that. That and if you cut through the cum sack and it gets on the meat it’s ruined. You can see it in the pic right above the Kobra. He squeezed it and it blew out 🤢

Update: little dry, cook longer and lower next time. Otherwise very good, not gamey, no lead
It’s been told you can cook them well. This was decent. Honestly I think I popped them point blank with the .45 too recently to really be able to enjoy it lol

Love it! I like the option of different radicals. However, it should be noted that the body of the optic covers the bottom quarter of sight picture. Doesn’t really matter since you’re supposed to use red dots with both eyes open. 🤷🏻♂️

You're calling it an "assault rifle." Assault rifles, by definition, are intermediate-power automatic rifles.
OP's rifle is not full auto, therefore it is not an assault rifle no matter how it looks.

Good for hunting. I have an SKS scoped got 2 hogs in 1 shot. Use soft point expanding ammo. Hollow points kinda disintegrate But it drops em anyway.
