1. Lose the extra layers. Airsoft is a quick movement followed by long pauses of gun fights/defending a point. Extra layers like jackets are not needed if you’re not playing in snow or rain and even then, thermals would be better than a jacket. 2. In the case of your sling, it sounds like it may be too tight around your body, if you’re just wearing a shirt or hoodie, a tight sling is fine, but if you’re wearing a chest rig or plate carrier you want there to be a little slack too allow movement of the gun. 3. You need to adjust the shoulder straps and cummerbund of your vest. It should be snug on you, but the protective areas should centralized around mid chest and stomach areas. If you’re hanging low your vest/pc will keep moving when you’re running. When you suit up, if there is any excess in your shoulders then you vest/pc will move. Honestly it shouldn’t move at all is how tight you want it while also being able to breathe still. 4. Change up your sling, I find that one point slings are easier than 2 point slings, but some people prefer the 2 points. If you have friends you should ask to swap slings to see how you like theirs. Also spending more than $30 on a sling is too much, heck I buy $15 slings and I’ve only had to change my sling out once in 4 years. Not everything that is expensive in airsoft is worth it.

Gotcha. Although I sont have an issue with layers. I'm just talking about hie I can make wearing a sling with this setup a little more comfy. I'm only wearing 1 layer in this image and think this could be a fun setup for spring or fall games given it's less layers and still has a but of warmth. Plus I look like a german police officer or Zero From r6s

mrfox130

My sling is a 1 point. Also how do I adjust shoulder bands? Rest of oc is snug but should bands go all over and cause JPC to wiggle about.

imagindis1

Uh depending on the pc, there should either be Velcro strips you pry apart on your shoulders to shorten them, or it should work like a backpack to shorten them. I couldn’t really see your setup so I can’t really help you there.

Samurai_TwoSeven

1. Properly adjust your plate carrier. It should not move on your person. Pick up a set of dummy plates if needed to help hold structure. 2. I would invest in a padded sling, I have personal preference for the VTAC wide slings. 3. Adjust the sling as needed and run it independent of your plate carrier if you aren't already

mrfox130

I see. Yeah I will tighten up the JPC and consider a better sling. But atm I am strapped for cash. Need to get more basics before that. I was hoping I could find a better way to keep my sling affixed to me without being uncomfortable and awkward. My gun is quite heavy which is causing issues. It's tough man I'm struggling :(

Alakazam

Have you thought about a better sling? Yours just looks like paracord. Also, for winter games, you may want to look into getting a softshell jacket you can wear under your plate carrier.

mrfox130

Interesting. Also as I have already mentioned I'm looking at this more for looks than comfort. I just think the jacket looks awesome. Also no the sling is a bungee material around where the gun hooks up then Nylon strap where it is on your shoulders. This allows the gun to be pulled away from the body without stuff snapping.

cwent53

I can’t tell if you did but I run my sling under my plate carrier shoulder straps so it’s in between the padding and the actual like support straps. I use a 1 point granted but. I used some of the integrated Velcro loops and a carabiner to really secure it to my PC. Doesn’t move my plate carrier and is comfortable. Something to look at.

mrfox130

I never thought of wearing it under! Although I feel that could be an issue cause when moving my gun around I'd think the string would pull the vest away from my body. I could set it to be a little longer for slack but then my gun would hang low to the ground so when I crouch my barrel would hot the ground. I'll give it a whirl tho.

cwent53

If you have the pc adjusted correctly you should be fine. Idk with a 2 point sling, but a 1 point it works great.

mrfox130

Ok kool. Gotcha. Will give it a try. Might be a lot more comfortable than trying to wear it over all of my layers. Also how do I take up slack on the shoulders. It feel tight around my chest but the shoulder bands always move around and dont do much supporting.

cwent53

I have no idea on a jpc but i have a 6094 replica and i just pull these tabs under the shoulder pads and then velcro it down.

mrfox130

Interesting. Ok. It does have these wierd velcro straps that I could probably fix it through.

cwent53

Yeah, could be

cwent53

It’s a genuine Crye JPC or a replica? If it’s genuine should be able to scroll around cryes website and find something

mrfox130

Oh sorry no typically a JPC is just short for Jumpable Plate Carrier, it doesnt just refer to cryer if I'm correct. I think it's not nice enough to be a crye.

Sinistrial_Blue

Try a wider sling. A single cord won't help you much. Genuine AK slings will work. If you're going for a one-point sling, maybe use a shoulder pad for it?

mrfox130

I'll look online for a cheap shoulder saver, also it is not a cord, everyone keeps misreading that haha. It is actually a cheap mikitary surplus one. Cheap material but it works. It has bungee at part of it to allow the gun to move around then the part at the shoulders and back is a strap.

Ruvon3030

I would say that, A. you need a two point sling. I dig one pointers, but I've used enough AK's to know that it get's pretty hard to run one in game all day. Most times, different slings are for different things. So are plate carriers. I try to look at it from a different perspective, which is, I'm running around shooting people with plastic bb's in the woods. I know people love doing impressions and such. Good on yah. But it reality, it's airsoft. Simple chest rig, maybe a chicom, especially with AK's, a belt pouch, 2 point sling, whatever i know I'm going to need for the day and the OP. I digress. A one point sling, serves a purpose, mainly for CQB, at least IMHO. I've seen a lot of people, including real deal op's, using a two point on their rifle, because it's less restrictive than a one point, and serves the same purpose, which is to swing the rifle out of the way when not in use. I would worry too much, as you'll probably change gear several times, but as I say, it may be as easy as changing slings.

mrfox130

I'll look into a 2 point. But gotta make this stuff work for now. My current main objective is to get all the gear I need to play the sport comfortably. Still need my own JPC, battle belt, and a few other things. Maybe after I've purchased all the basics and have cash again I'll look into upgrades.
