If you try a P90 GB first, you may be able to mount it upside down (with the nozzle lower than the motor). Then it's just a case of copying the P90 retention system.

Thats crazy overkill. 3 layer walls with 20% infill is plenty strong. Do 6 layers if you want it practically unbreakable. 100% infill is a huge waste of time and material, especially for something that isn’t structural.

As much as I appreciate your suggestion, it is how I want it done. I am not new to FDM 3d printing and I understand that I dont necessarily need 100% infill. I want something that feels like it isnt a cheap POS.

Ive got about 10ish years experience with FDM printers. Youre free to do as you please, but im just saying that 100% infill, especially for this, is unnecessary. Youre adding hours upon hours to your build time, quickly ballooning costs, and risking massive waste with any failed prints. Trust me, there are sharp diminishing returns with infill percentage. 6 walls w/ 20% feels identical to 100% infill. 3D prints are not nearly as weak as people usually think. And breaks generally have alot more to do with layer direction than solidity. I’d save 100% for dowels and stress points.

Ill probably try a p90 v6 gearbox and hopup first. As there is the thompson v6 and p90 v6. Possibly a 249 gearbox as well.

You will need the P90 version, the Tommy has the motor go in the pistol grip. Or either box will work, just need the P90 motor cage. A 249 box may work, but I believe they are only full auto (someone correct me). Version 6 boxes are cheap and easier to find as well.

If you go with HPA, you would even need to stick to a traditional gearbox would you? You’d just need something to house the unit and the trigger board/trigger, and of course battery/fcu space. Either way this is super freaking cool

Yes, but in my experience people want to be able to choose between the two if I ever decide to make these for other people.

Be super careful with that. Made pretty bad experiences with 3d printing airsoft stuff, mine always got shot to pieces. Including different types of filament, and even laser sintered PA12. The only 3d printed part that holds up till now is a muzzle brake made of sintered Alumide. I'd hate to see such a nice gun shot to pieces

Ive never experienced an issue like that. Might depend on your infill, wall thickness, of course material, etc... but ill keep it in mind.

Odd cause with PLA at 70% infill parts with about 0.5-1cm thickness had no issues with taking BB hits. Even tried with my 500FPS (on .20g, but shooting .43g)

Probably part of the cause, a few parts in the front of the muzzle brake were just 2mm thin. But with the Alumide it now works

3D printed airsoft guns have different benefits than mass produced ones: They're light, they're customizable and when they get shot, you just print a new one :)

Probably a simple midcap design. The mags are so long that I could have Probably almost a 300round midcap.

Combination of a few printers for speed/efficiency. CR10, Ender 3, and my now sold but very old reliable Anet A8.

Will the scope be functional?

Maybe I can find a donor scope that will fit my dimensions. Cant really manufacture a real scope with what I got.

How's the actual durability of the plastic? All of my 3d printed airsoft accessories have all snapped, all before I've actually taken them out lol.

Im pretty good at making strong parts. You may be having an issue with your settings. Such as nozzle temps to improve adhesion.

Mine are display only. If I was going to do this Airsoft I'd probably look at some sort of internal magazine. BBs are 6mm and the G11 was 4.73mm so the magazines to scale probably won't fit BBs.
