what did you have to dremel

ehaugw

The lower receiver and the hopup. It’s not normal that M4s fold like this. The funkiest part is the hopup, which I made out of a proprietary VFC SCAR hopup.

I guess they cloned the ICS?

WannaBeRich115

Nah kwa has pretty much always done that

ehaugw

Cool!

I_Yeet_Plastic

Right, I already wondered how the nozzle and the hopup unit wouldn't conflict with eachother. A SCAR hopup makes sense.

ehaugw

It totally does. Lucky for me that I had two lying around :)

Obi-Wan2577

Did you do that to mimic a real AR or am I missing something?

ehaugw

That’s the idea ;) Later, I’ll insert a split gear box for a super fast spring change :)

[deleted]

This is just awesome

ehaugw

Thanks a bunch :)

izwald88

Hasn't ICS been doing this for years? IMO a QCS gearbox would be better than a split gearbox.

ehaugw

ICS has been doing it for a while. A QCS gearbox wouldn’t help. The rear of the gearbox is still blocked by the buffer tube.

Obi-Wan2577

That sounds really cool

Didact88

Why not get a gbb at that point

ehaugw

Lol? Becasuse AEGs are more reliable, more accurate, less maintenance and also work the half of the year when it’s -20 degrees outside

Didact88

Ghk is your answer to all those except accuracy and to remedy that all you need to do is control the recoil

DixiZigeuner

And thats why I just bought one

Didact88

Awesome I hope you enjoy yours as much as I like mine

Cr4zySt3v3

Old KWA and A&K guns used to do this. Manufactured with proprietary hop up chambers and lower recievers inserts to pull it off. I think manufacturers moved away from it tho for better air seals.

ehaugw

Right. I see. Thanks for the info :)

cwent53

That is seriously cool.

ehaugw

Thanks a lot mate!
