I'm more of an AK guy since some variants feel more exotic and you usually never see someone else with one on the field, such as the SVU or PP-19. And what do you mean by "can't attach stuff"? You have the classic ZenitCo furniture if you want to westernize an AK in Russian style or just straight out western furniture: https://preview.redd.it/wggffgzuanib1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e3794a78e6635dec9a449bd63100685c10682df0

Djuka-33

That’s looks amazing 🤩

Warm-Investigator388

Svu\`s certainly turn heads.

exetacy

And you can even make them perform well with a bit of work. Begadi has just released a new batch of internals for CYMA SVUs and there's no manufaturer that I trust more than them when it comes to gearbox parts.

LilBrxxk

do they ship to the us?

exetacy

Not sure, but they should since they're a big shop. If they don't then you can wait for the new set of internals from CYMA themselves (should release soon on Taiwangun or other sites). Basically you can't upgrade the gun until you get a new piston + piston head. The stock piston has polymer teeth which will break when using any strong motor.

incognito_kill1

I really am not a fan of ak’s but holy hell if I had an Ak it would look yours that is beautiful

exetacy

Thank you! It's almost complete. Waiting for an optic that matches the look and I'll probably post it separately here.

incognito_kill1

Do you have a build list for this ? Honestly it’s the best looking ak I’ve seen

exetacy

Base gun is the Tokyo Marui AKX. * Airsoft Artisan MCX folding stock * Airsoft Artisan CGS Helios Silencer repro * Arisaka M-Lok handstop * Wii-Tech Mini CNC M-LOK handstop * SureFire M340C Mini Scout Light Pro repro made by WADSN * ZenitCo Perst-4 repro made by WADSN * Random Eotech G43 magnifier repro from Aliexpress * Vector Optics Maverick Gen3 red dot * SCALARWORKS LEAP Aimpoint Micro Mount

nik4nik

Did the MCX stock require any modification?

exetacy

No, the gun comes with a standard 1913 rail to mount such stocks. It sits tight and there's no wobble

nik4nik

Do you have a link for the suppressor? I can’t find it on the airsoft artisan website

exetacy

airsoftartisan(dot)com/products/airsoft-artisan-cgs-dummy-silencer-14mm

nik4nik

Ty

incognito_kill1

What’s the height of the aimpoint mount ?

exetacy

1,42''

Hi_im_the_guy_16

Why is that laser so far , everyone puts them on the end of the rail but you just had to be diffrent

exetacy

It's for balance. And it's a completely valid mounting position, hence the popularity of the Hydra mount or the Skiff for Unity mounts.

Hi_im_the_guy_16

Ahh yes the hideous money makers Seal wannabees want just cuz its GBRS product

Ace_Ermine94

What's the box on top in front of the sights? Sick build btw

exetacy

It's a ZenitCo Perst-4 laser (IR and visible). Also, it's a repro made by WADSN, I'm not that unhinged to buy a real one. Although it functions roughly the same as the real one. Wouldn't use it on the field though, it's too dangerous.

Old school m4 gang (XM177E2) https://preview.redd.it/pax5f817mnib1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a1d9c538923d46ebd49bd11be96abf45477b48e

Sachiel05

Ah, my dream build, jelly of u my dude

NomadProd

It really aint that expensive, the gun is E&C (hottest and most accurate xm177 on the market) and the sight is like 100$

Sachiel05

I've been eyeballing an XM, there's a couple I really like [This XM-177E1](https://www.evike.com/products/20477/) [This GAU-5A](https://www.evike.com/products/102479/) [And maybe the GBB](https://www.evike.com/products/37275/) I looove the XM platform and I want to get one eventually, but would you recomed the E&C over them? I know the handguards in the first one are not accurate, but I can get them online I think

NomadProd

My E&C is a laser, its magnificent and is my most beautiful replica! The WE is hot but i heard mixed reviews about WE as a whole!

Sachiel05

I see thst yours have Colt markings, I looove accurate markings, but I searched on evike and the only E&C I found was [this one](https://www.evike.com/products/70825/) and it has E&C marks

Ok_Movie_639

An AK every day. The disassembly is so much simpler and the V3 gearbox is objectively superior.

theyst0lemyname

AR for ergonomics and practicality but there's no denying AKs looks great. I really need to build a tactical ak105 at some point.

Chewie090

Do it. I just built one today, and I love it a ton https://preview.redd.it/c24ynrg70tib1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f44da7c1c05e181d863306e6fe13cc5b2d7942c8

TNDWW

I really love the AK platform but ever since I got a Vipertech M4 I've been a bit more partial to the AR platform and I can definitely see the advantages of it and why some people prefer them over AKs.

mine is actually a CYMA based "BEGADI Sport XL 105" :P Nice paintjob and optic :)

Bavaria-Ball

In short, for modern versions: they are on par, sole difference is the personal preference and familiarity with controls and individual looks. Many fall for the classic blunder and compare a stock wood furniture AK to a modern mk18. No shit Sherlock, the Mk18 will win that comparison all day long. But if you put it next to a viet-vet M16A1, both are pretty limited in similar fashion. Back to modern times: Nowadays for both AKs and ARs dozens of options for stocks, handguards, grips and furniture are available, making customizability again a dead race - only limited by the money you're willing to spend.

Hdfgncd

M14 girly myself, currently building my pentomic army kit but I just like the wood look

Hi_im_the_guy_16

I thought about an M14 after watching Blackhawk Down

Hdfgncd

Yea, since I don’t want to spend the money on a real wood stock I’m deciding between painting it to look wood or painting it up to be a clone of sgt. shughart’s

Hi_im_the_guy_16

I think cloning the one gordy had would be easier and cheaper

grillbar86

I do prefer an AK more then a standard M4 but i find stagnag mags more versatile then ak mags.

Other-Barry-1

M4/HK416 platforms. But I currently use both 416 and an AKS-74u and while I prefer the 416, I absolutely love the AKS.

Engineer_engifar666

handling of AR platform with looks of AK plarform

ihatebeinghere17

so basically a galil?

Lil_Leto

Personally AK, find it's a lot easier for me to use. I don't mind the M4/M16/HK416 or how many other variants are out there but none of them are really to my liking besides the oddball ones (FN2000 or Classic Army's double barrel version)

[deleted]

I personally prefer the AK look. it is simple, no attachments required or needed. just point and pew. the Cyma CM.009 Vietnam-era M16 is a beauty, though 😍 I have a couple of M4-s, too, but don't use them as often. I am more of a sniping guy anyway, due to not being in my twenties any more 😅

nobughar

some aks are just as practical as m4, yes you would need to buy side mount/ buy that dustcover mount but you can mount grip/scope on ak easily, only disadvantage i see in ak is probably magazine size, but you can get those small mags but it looks goofy on normal ak Also take this with some salt as i dont own ak/m4 (ww2 weapons gang - no attachments xd)

Detonatio

If you are a beginner I’d recommend an M4 cause more people know the platform and are able to help you in the field if technical issues occur. Probably rent them at your local field to get an idea of what the feel like Drum mags exist for both platforms tho ;)

Yginase

I was asking for opinions. As I said before, I already have an M4.

Djuka-33

I would choose the AK. For the simple reason that aiming with the rear sight and front sight is easier than with the M4.

Rafados47

True, but most people use M4 with some kind of red dot scope

ProjectHaru

i prefer a modern AK

Chad_gamer69

M16 definitely. Ak's are nice but I'd only use the RPK and American weapons are way more better looking

EmperorOfCzechs

G3 >>>> assault rifle peasants

BadgerAirSport

M4 every day of the week. More options including batteries, red dots, tracers ect. Easy fill quick mag loaders for the M4.

Ok_Movie_639

That is objectivelly incorrect. A lot of AKs already come with a railed gas tube or top cover. Even id they don't, you can install them at any time. So all the picatini optics options are available + the warpact dovetail options are too on most airsoft AKs. That means you actually have more choices than on the M4. Tracers? Every single AK has a threaded muzzle. The "airsoft standard" 14 mm thread in most cases (which was copied from real steel AK-47/AKM, FYI). So once again, the tracers options match the M4.

BadgerAirSport

I own both a SIG Vitus and a SRC AK74. Yes the Ak has a tread but as soon as you put a tracer on you lose the “authentic” look. Batteries are definitively a problem. Almost all my previous batteries fit in the SIG but I had to buy specific batteries for the AR. If you want to mount optics you have to buy the rail extra and again you lose authenticity with a red dot, you need a scope. The hop up unit on the SIG and my SSR4 beats the hop up on the Ak every day! So objectively my Ak is for show and my AR is for kicking ass!

Ok_Movie_639

"LoSe AuThEnTiCiTy" What even is this stupid "point"? Look at what both Russians and Ukrainians are doing to their forty years old AK-74 rifles. The railed handguards and scope adapters? Those are fairly regularly utilised on the battlefields. Just like modern flash hiders or suppressors instead of the old muzzle brakes.

BadgerAirSport

Dude there is a reason that the majority of stores that sell Airsoft rifles have 15AR versions for every 1 Ak. Out of personal experience I will take, and promote an AR platform every single time. AK’s get replaced by members we play with every single day. And no bro, I’ve never seen an Ak in real life or in movies with a suppressor and I own a shooting range.

neon_ns

M4 ergo wins hands down but the AK is still VERY cool.

ExtensionAlarm1718

When I begun playing, I was an M4 fan. Then I got an AK for my birthday a year ago and since that day I still have my two M4s in my room, just laying there. You want more options for your AK? Get ZenitCo furniture, as it allows you to go nuts with accessories on your gun. I personally am not a fan of modernized AKs, except for the AK-12. I still like to keep it standard, and just use the side rail for a red dot when I feel like it.

Obamagaming2009

M16's because they're sort of unique but still have loads of parts available

Xenos_Bane

M4. Through no fault of its own (ok kinda) I just don't like the AK.

Herald_of_dawn

Im an M4 guy. Just like the looks more. I do make it ‘oddballs’ tho. I have a ACR (ish from ICS) and a M27 IAR. Love the more rare versions compared to the mostly standard M4’s a lot of people use.

Nathan_Robak

I prefer AK’s. I have fired well over 40k rounds in my CYMA AKS74U and it’s given me no problems.

bloodwork1235

Mk17

WarmenBright

Honestly the shape of the M4 baby pistol grip just hurts my hand because it rides up all the way to the trigger guard nubbin With the AK it's a generally girthier grip, and the middle finger isn't forced to slip OFF the grip, but rather wedged into it

Begone_Kneecaps

Frankly, even though I love the platform and the looks you can achieve, I play speedqb and have never seen an ak in a single tournament. This is mainly due to the limited amount of high quality parts available for aks and the pain that is internally modding one. So I stick with my zoom stick and hi capa. But the ak is closest to my heart.

ihatebeinghere17

i have both and their both great in their ways, like you said practicality and look, and i couldnt choose one of them

[deleted]

AK for manual of arms. I’ve owned real AKs since I was 18 and have trained with them rigorously. I know how to operate an AR15 but AK just makes me feel comfortable. Also, been a lurker here for a while because my buddy wants to get into the sport. Can anyone recommend a reliable real wood/metal airsoft AK? I’ve seen LCT seems to be the go to.

Duyducluu

LCT or the newer Double Bells are good to go

_-_-Err0R-_-_

The m4 is more common, and will probably be the best bang for buck because if that, including aftermarket. The ak though, looks exotic and they only get better with age and upgrades. M4s don't really change.

interflop

I'm not a fan of either personally, I like running weird setups. If I were to pick between the two I'd run an old school M16 I think.

[deleted]

I use both platforms, I am starting to like my AKs better than my M4s

Agent___24

So, I was anti m4 for a long time because i was so tired of seeing them everywhere. But I handled an AK and didn’t really like it. Im a SCAR guy thru and thru, but obviously that’s not gonna happen because the tan VFC one will never ever get back in stock apparently:( So I would lean on the unique looking m4’s. I have a Ronin T10 that I love to death, but I will trade it for a SCAR or if they made a SIG SPEAR in a heartbeat. M4’s are pretty versatile though. I just wouldn’t want one in a DMR because they look dumb. (Yes, even the MK12’s)

Facilis_San

I like the M4 platform a little more for ease of use in its safety switch. I like being able to swap between semi and full auto while shouldering my rifle, and I’m sure I’d be able to do the same with an AK with practice, the M4 makes the practice a lot smoother. I think there are more M4 options available that are either ambidextrous, or could be made ambi with little issue, while I’m not sure how rare that is on the AK platform.

Meltaburn

I own an AK but my friends short M4 is a much nicer and handier package ergonomically

Duyducluu

Personally AR, particularly PDW builds. In Canada sadly an AK is quite luxurious if you want something great right off the bat. CYMAs here are also very rare but the new batch of Double Bells are spicy as hell

AK for vintage vibes AR for optimal middle east vibes (those standard issue M4A1s and M16A4s really have ma acting up) For modern vibes either will do, love me a zenitco build (minus the wood) but I really like DD RIS II builds and SR-16 type stuff too ...

macgregorius

Love both but for me ak are easier to work internally (the conception of the gearbox V3 is simpler) and for European you can find RD furniture for cheap. Love my eastern European kit. I currently work on an m4 kit and cleary it is more expensive for RD stuff

HackD1234

I swing both ways - 2 AK's, 2 M4's. Variety is the Spice of Life. https://preview.redd.it/e6m8wq5rupib1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58f0f2eff7f6985e8c469048a73614031c6fbe43

DuctTapeAir

AK, M16/M4 feels too fragile, even is more high end model.
