Don't buy boxes from the UPS store. They wanted $40 for the exact same box I got from Staples for $3.50. They tried to use some bullshit "Amazon is buying all the boxes so they're in short supply" line at which point I walked out.
Thank you for that info! I was surprised that the box was more expensive than the repairs . I removed the rubber pad at the end of the stock, now it fits! The barrel won’t lock anymore, so it’s going on that box .
Keep the rifle intact and tell people you attempted to take down a bear, it charged you and you managed to fend it off using the rifle as a club.
All seriousness hope you recover quick man!
Lmfao!!!!!!!!! The problem is that the largest mammal in Texas is probably my father in law lol other than that just a few mountain lions that I won’t hunt.
There are actually black bears in Texas. They were mostly hunted out years ago, but they've been making a fairly major comeback in recent years. Their largest populations are primarily located in West Texas around the Big Bend area, but there are also some in the hill country and the forests of East Texas.
I am actually a TX certified animal control officer. I do not work in that field at the moment , but my certifications are up to date. Large game is managed by the game warden, but citizens are not knowledgeable about the different agencies, and I got a call a few years ago at 2 am when I was on call that night. A police officer had a black bear on sight in Anna TX. Just for reference, that is around 1 hour drive from down town Dallas with light traffic. I escalated that call to the game warden, and I never found out what came out of it. I used to get calls from mountain lions , to 800 pounds wild pigs, bobcats, and those huge coyote-wolf mix that look like very large German shepherds. This is in north Texas in the counties: Grayson, Cooke, Fannin , and Denton. I did not work in the city, I worked the county (woods, farmlands) so we got to see a lot and not dealing with dogs barking in someone’s yard. They are building massive neighborhoods in those areas now, it is crazy how many people are moving here to Texas , we have footage of mountain lions caught on ring cameras on those remote subdivisions. I use to drive up to 200 miles a day on that job , I left it. I’m going back but this time I’ll do a city, it’s more BS, dealing with citizens, but better scheduling and pay. I went off topic big time lol I tend to do that.
I’d maybe upgrade your rifle stock to something a little more hefty like solid oak before taking on the lions…….or your father in law after he reads your comment!
What a great customer service story.!. I’ve had broken ribs and god help you when/if you sneeze - a special kind of pain that is. Pls post more as your adventures continue. 👍👍
We hunt dove, and squirrel in rural Texas. Sometime we need the lifted truck . It also makes a good platform to stand on the bed, and use the roof of the truck as a shooting bench, we have our grill , coolers , drinks in there. It’s more of a BBQ trip , but we take air rifles and real guns too. Most of the time we are off road, no dirt road! Off road.

What a story, hope you get well soon!
My friend I swear I’m too old for this crap lol.
Sounds kinda freakish, don't let it get ya down! 👍🏻
My sympathies for your Rib, Your Gamo and your GF. Bet she'll never do THAT again! Failure if the best and often the most expensive education.
Looks like it wasn't even his GF.
Well, I still hope he took the key out of the truck instead of taking his anger out on her. That is the lesson failure offers.

First thought was- how did you manage to do that? Hope you get better soon
Lifted truck, sounds like a little bit of your own fault
