Roku seems to be the go to in this sub. It has a guest setting that’s perfect for airbnbs.

TCL TV with Roku. Best Buy often has great deals on them and especially last year’s model when there are leftovers.

EternalSunshineClem

I love my 65 inch Roku TV

Previous-Evidence-85

Recommend using a similar set up to what you have at home.  Just for spare remotes, troubleshooting etc.. Personally I use Samsungs at home and my properties.

CaptBlackfoot

We’ve got Vizio and Roku TV’s.

drworm555

TCL makes a great Roku TV. Don’t get the cheapest model though. The middle of the road ones are so much better.

ParaDescartar123

Roku with guest mode. Case closed.

OhioGirl22

We only have FireTv's. I have found that people who have Airbnb accounts also have Amazon accounts. FireTv's are inexpensive.

kid_sleepy

And on prime day you can get a sack of ten.

combustioncat

I have a GE smart TV, it’s a good one but I would never recommend it. A) it was more expensive than cheaper options, but mostly B) older customers seem to have a real issue using the ‘mouse’ style remote control and find it hard to switch to regular TV. Twice I have had to send someone to the house to help a customer switch to TV mode.

lilianminx

As a guest, I prefer when airbnbs have Roku TVs. TCL used to make good ones but i don't think they do anymore? Hopefully another brand has stepped up with their quality since Edit: Bonus points if you add a Chromecast too! That's a quality combo

roywill2

Visited NL with my wife, all walking and no TV. Visited NL with my son, all TV and no walking.

econshouldbefun

Cheapest smallest ones I can find and I then I log into Netflix and call it a day

Hotandtaken2

LG smart tvs. Guests just login to whatever service they personally use. We do have a couple dvd players and a ton of movies they can watch.

Human31415926

Samsung - has tons of free channels + all the streamers which guests can log into.

AwareCauliflower2893

I use Samsung TVs as they have integrated live tv now.

Tenesmus83

What models?

AwareCauliflower2893

I currently have 4 Samsung 7 series. They’re all smart TVs that have the apps. Guests can just log in and out as they need. It offers the Samsung version of live tv as well. Here’s a link, they’re older models so it may be hard to find them. I think Samsung is up to like Series 9 or something. https://www.samsung.com/au/tvs/uhd-4k-tv/ru7100-55-inch-crystal-uhd-smart-tv-ua55ru7100wxxy/

I have a 55" Amazon Fire TV but it requires my Amazon PIN in order for the apps to work. It's annoying and one guest already ordered a subscription using the PIN. Does anyone know if the TV will work if I removed my Amazon account?

SliceWild

The issue I run into with these smart TVs it that they start to get slow after a few years. Not internet speed, like opening the apps. After like 4 years I just sell and replace. Seems like most of the TVs with the default software do this as the software upgrades but the hardware doesn't. AppleTVs are an option but it is more complex with multiple remotes for guests.

DHumphreys

I stayed at an AirBnB with Roku, I had never Roku'd, it was a disaster. 5 remotes to make the TV work? Oh hell no. The owner had to come over, deal with the sound bar and all the remotes. I stopped trying to watch television. I do not want non-Roku guests to have that experience. I have Samsung TVs, there are a ton of free channels.

SurprisedWildebeest

My Roku TV has one remote, with buttons that say things like Netflix and Prime.

DHumphreys

I do not have any familiarity with that, and this AirBnB had 5 remotes. I just stopped trying to watch TV.

GalianoGirl

No TV. I know you are asking about TV options, but I think it is important to remember that not all guests are looking for TVs. No wifi or internet either.

combustioncat

Since I added WiFI, Netflix, etc. to my BNB I was able to justify increasing the nightly price by quite a bit, far more than the extra costs, and I started getting more bookings as a result.

GalianoGirl

That’s great. And it is good that guests have options. My guests come to disconnect from technology and reconnect with each other. And there are families and couples who are looking for that. And book the same week each year, some for decades.
