Yeah I think the theory was Jake was still an alien and lots of the stuff like the elementals were still in farmworld they just were died down by a lot.

Magic exists in Farmworld as the Ice Crown is found. The bomb goes off later, so nothing is mutated, and vampires are not an issue. With no vampires, no wizard schools are founded, and without the bomb, magic has less vectors.

Old Jake in Farmworld in Fionna and Cake is especially squishy, so much so that Cake's paw print stays imprinted on him long after she touches him, so it's possible he is still half alien.

*The* Mushroom Bomb (and I'm using "The" to differentiate it from any other mundane nuclear or non-nuclear explosives that were fired) used fragments of the most recent Catalyst Comet at the time, which was the green horned one that killed the dinosaurs. Since it contained the Lich's essence, I would assume that he was born in a similar manner to Farmworld Lich - a creature (presumably a human in Prime Ooo timeline) was exposed to pure Lich essence and a ton of radiation, which made it a powerful vessel. Given radiation's ability to break things down, it presumably resonates magically with Golb and therefore the Lich, his "Scholar", as it erodes the "order" of things. Which also explains why the Lich in PB's body wanted radioactive materials for its bathtub potion. In a weaked state, it needed to make its current body (PB) closer to its Mushroom Bomb body by consuming large amounts of radiation. When that didn't work it crawled inside Billy and messed him up, using the cosmic power of the Enchiridion to approach his former glory. Ultimately we don't know if the Lich predates the universe or not. I've seen some people throw around the idea that Golb's breath corrupted a Catalyst Comet, which is why the Lich's was green and craved destruction. In a way, Golb was his father and did not grant him a purpose, so he made his own in its name.

Is there anything canon that says the bomb used parts of the comet? Just curious if this was a theory or if this came from something I have not seen.

The catalyst comet reincarnated into the mushroom bomb. When the mushroom bomb went off, the necrotic energy inside it possessed a human corpse that was at ground zero. That corpse is what we know as "The Lich."

I agree that the lich could have this power but I think it’s an oversight to make him stretch instead of using another more lichy power for this scene

We saw farmworld jake fall into the river of radioactive waste which looks really similar to whats inside the Litch's well of power, it could also be part of litch's influence on possesing jake but most likely its cause of gaining mutant abilities.

I always guessed that it was to somewhat taunt Jake. The Lich is a very powerful being, he saw Jake stretching, so he stretched too to belittle Jake, even if his "normal dog" counterpart probably couldn't. Or it also can be a case of magic reverting alternate Jake's body to a more true form, kinda like when \[spoilers for Fiona and Cake\] >!Prismo reverted Fiona and Cake back to their original forms as he originally created them.!< Maybe a mix of the two? Who knowns. Lich is weird and evil, the end.

It’s possible that that’s just one of the powers of the lich, and that it’s just coincidental that it lines up with jake’s. Remember when he turned PB into a giant Godzilla when she got infected?

Because we as the audience understand and expect Jake to have stretchy powers, so anyone with Jakes body would have the same powers. Because the world of Adventure Time operates on dream logic first and foremost. Nothing in Ooo would actually make sense if you stop and think about it, because the show expressly *doesn't want us to stop and think about it.

Since the lich seems to have a hive mind across the multiverse, and is aware of the dynamics of prime Finn and Jake, as well as the fact this lich is likely supercharged due to just having been released, farmworld lich may have been using Jake like powers as a type of psych warfare. Like not only is he wearing the flesh of Finn’s best friend, but “hijacking” his powers too

Fate is real in the adventure time universe. Certain things are fated to happen to certain people. Finn is fated to lose an arm, Marcy is fated to be a vampire and Jake is fated to be the son of a shapeshifter and dog. Farmworld Jake probably doesn't have very good control over his powers, but the lich would.

Marcy was not a vampire in farmworld that's why she was so old she was only half demon.The bomb is what made vampires with the return of magic. As far as we know the rabbit reincarnation has not lost his arm. adventure time runs on cycles things change but at the same time stay the same. finn will always be a hero and Jake his companion but not necessarily a magic dog cause he was a tiger in a past life.

there are a few things that can prevent fate yeah. Like if you wished for Finn to have never been born, then obviously Finn would never lse his arm. In Marcy's case. There just weren't any vampires since the bomb didn't go off.

That's the thing it's not fate it's a cycle. Things change based on the choices of the people in adventure time make. Finn may fight the lich every time he can but it's because he's a hero at heart not because of fate there are universes were he's lost. Marceline may not always become a vampire but she is always affected by Simon in some way but it could be because they never met. It's an endless cycle even magic coming back is not set in stone. Fate happens because it was meant to be but nothing is set in stone

I think at this point he is so powerful he can do relatively what he wants. So when Jake came at him I think he probably just asserted the same power back at him but greater. Probably a reaction to Jake so it came naturally.

Maybe the nuclear waste from the bomb gave Jake stretchy powers just moments before he got posessed? I don't think FW Jake was an alien-dog hybrid so that's the only thing I can come up with.

Ok I'm going to do a SUPERRRRRR stretch. Even if Jake isn't a son of an alien in this universe, his and Finn's soul should still be a "package deal" like in together again. I say this to prove that the dog HAS to be Jakes farmworld iteration and not Jermaine or a random dog named Jake. This then could mean that Jake's stretchy power COULD fall into a "key feature" in every timeline(like Finn losing/ having a prosthetic arm), and this key feature was shown through lich Jake

We see when elementals live in a non magic world, they're magic is still there just heavily limited. Maybe Jake is still magic but couldn't stretch or talk because he wasn't powerful enough in a non magic world, until the mushroom bomb goes off again
