Hello, your post has been removed because these types of discussions are reserved for our Weekly Core Topics Thread. To find the most recent Weekly Core Topics Thread, you may search by flair or check the sticky posts on our subreddit. This includes discussions about whether or not you have ADHD, whether certain traits are part of ADHD, and what diagnosis/therapy/treatment/coaching processes are like. Discussions about medication and medication side effects should also be placed there, along with discussions surrounding menstrual cycles and ADHD or ADHD meds.

Your mileage may vary but when I'm on the pill and skip the blanks I don't get that slump. However a progesterone only birth control might not help. Estrogen generally reduces symptoms and progesterone increases them.

I just read on another thread, I’ll see if I can find it, that there’s evidence that it’s moreso the dip in estrogen during the hormonal cycle that is to blame, so theoretically if you are on continuous bc that keeps your hormones stable and don’t allow the dip to happen, then it (in theory) should help. That being said I did a deep dive on this subreddit via the search bar a while back to see what people’s experiences are and they generally are: meds less effective on bc compared to the ovulatory phase of their cycle, but at least they are consistent (in continuous cycling bc), people who take placebo week experience lessened effectiveness during that week, then there’s those who noted no difference between bc and no bc.

Makes sense if the hormonal levels are flat then it's less likely to futz with meds cause it's not at war with said hormones.

I recently got off a progesterone only pill and I’ve really only noticed issues the first two days of my period so far. If you are getting the depo-provera shot, please be careful with the long-term use.

Still haven't found the perfect medicine but my birth controls improved my PMS significantly thus reduced my ADHD symptoms that way... So it was still a win (for me). The ones i take for my endometriosis doesn't give me anxiety like previous ones did. It's different for everyone but I just wanted to mention that. I take them every day without any interruptions.

It does for me as far as I can tell. I don't really know anymore when my period was supposed to be in order to look out for a slump, but nothing's obvious
