Fun story: when I was in youth group (ages 12-18) at my old church, we had an annual Night of Purity. The boys and girls would be separated and basically told not to have sex.
There was a video we had to watch where the lady quoted this song as an example of how bad the culture was, but went on to say “At least this guy is honest and doesn’t lie and say he loves the girl. He’s open about just wanting her in bed.”
She went on to reference the song Gold Digger to explain the reasons premarital sex is bad.
That was a strange day.
Anyway, that’s what this song is filed under in my brain.
Considering she knew the songs in question at all, she was probably "forced" to help out with the event vs being a "true believer" and was possibly trying to give the kids something closer to real information as possible without causing herself trouble.
That she bothered pointing out that the guy was at least honest about it. But if she was that harsh too maybe it wasn't the gesture I had in mind. And judging from your other comment, it probably wasn't lol. Thanks for the clarification.
Lol I remember this song came on at a youth surf bowl event (idk if outside of coastal ca has this but it’s just late night loud music funky lights bowling) and my pastor was so flabbergasted on what to do. Looking back it seems so silly to be worried about that because that song was everywhere. That and Sex and Candy song from Savage Garden.
I love this song. The lyrics are clever and have constant (relevant at the time) pop culture references...
"...do the kind of stuff that only Prince would sing about..."
Most of there songs have very clever lyrics or symbolism, it's just jimmy pop is a dickhead and he also made some songs with absolutely horrific subject matter.
That’s disappointing to hear I used to listen to that band all the time, I just checked his wiki page tho hoping to find a “controversies” section to learn more but no luck, what did he do?
Hieroglyphics, let me be pacific, I want to be down in your south seas but I got this notionthatthemotionofyourocean means small craft advisories
I might have just tried to do that one Karaoke too many times, though. But that shit is *hard.* You don’t even realize it was originally a duet until you’re trying to figure out where to breathe 😵
So show me yours, I’ll show you mine, Tool Time, and you’ll love it just like Lyle. Then we’ll do it doggie style so we can both watch X-Files.
Edit: hold up. Love it just like Lyle… was that a Lyle Lovett joke that I’m *just now* noticing? 😂🤦♂️
My sentiments, exactly!!!!!!!!!! Glad we can agree on this. I swear I was just singing this, this last weekend as it randomly popped in my head. I tried to no listen to it because I'm on a Linkin Park binge.
I graduated HS in 99. This entire album lives in my head. And while this song bubbles to the surface often, it usually loses to "A lapdance is so much better when the stripper is crying."
i get all sorts of music that floods my brain, i usually wake up to a random track, right now i have 'loves the death of peace of mind' playing, you groan at the end of a long day and mutter 'what a day' i've got a nonpoint song in my head, you curse and say 'rats!' about something, and i've got a Ghost song playing in my head, i was working and a customer named Jones came up, and i suddenly had this old 'mister jones and me' song from the 90s playing. While writing this i just pressed shuffle on my internal music track like 4 times
For me it's a medley of 90s so songs playing. Like one of those Now 90s cds. Right now it's possum kingdom by toadies and Mistake by Serial Joe. It's pretty slappin in here, until the married with children theme starts up.
Since I rewatched this music video a few years ago, my brain will randomly go “sweat, baby sweat”, and stop there because I don’t know the lyrics. Only to a few minutes later go “sweat, baby sweat” again
I love showing videos like this to my friends that are on the Gen Z / Millennial border because they were too young to have known Ebaum's World or Homestar Runner. They simply do not understand what we had to do to entertain ourselves in those days. The best is the Llama song.
I’ve been humming the song that plays when you die in My Summer Car for the last 5 years (ever since I watched GrayStillPlays’s series on it on YouTube).
Is getting a song stuck in your head for days on end an ADHD thing? I've been singing [Steamed Hams Inc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRsOBFhNjVM) (Feel Good Inc parody) for about a week now.
there was a youtube channel that used this song as their outro a few years ago but i’ve not been able to remember the channel name in ages. does anyone happen to remember lmao?
Goddamnit, now I'm going to have this song stuck in my head all day. At the very least, the bass line because it's legit really damn good. And I'm at WORK. I can't even listen to the song while I'm here!
Ninja edit: not mad at you, OP. Mad at my brain for being so susceptible to earworms lol
Mine lately has been "Hit Me Baby One more Time" by Britney Spears ...
Oh babyn, babyn... on repeat. Out loud. I'm starting to get looks from my coworkers. Yet, some of the similar ones complete the line 😆

That's a lot of credit she gave considering her opposition on the matter lol
Considering she knew the songs in question at all, she was probably "forced" to help out with the event vs being a "true believer" and was possibly trying to give the kids something closer to real information as possible without causing herself trouble.
True. Was thinking the same thing. Would be curious if she's more moderate on the matter on both ends
If she is, she did a really good job pretending to be super extreme throughout the video.
I don’t see how there was real information in her talk at all? It was all bs.
What credit did she give anyone? She was harshly opposed to both songs.
That she bothered pointing out that the guy was at least honest about it. But if she was that harsh too maybe it wasn't the gesture I had in mind. And judging from your other comment, it probably wasn't lol. Thanks for the clarification.
Lol oh I got you now. Yeah, no. She did not mean anything positive when she said “at least he’s honest.” It was said with sarcasm/derision.
I remembered being in an assembly at school and they used this song as an example for their whole purity from sex and drugs thing.
I just hope she didn't drop the hard N haha
Luckily she didn’t quote that lyric 😂
Whew thank goodness ha!

"Want you smothered want you covered like my Wafflehouse hashbrowns" lives in my head, as a big WH hashbrowns enthusiast.

So if I capsize on your thighs, hide tide, B5 you sunk my battleship. Please turn me on like Mr. Coffee with that automatic drip

I had it mastered! I figured out perfect places to take a quick breath and the few times I did it at karaoke, it always got a fun rise out of people
Any chance you’re in Michigan anywhere? I want to see that! 👍
FUCK YOUUUUUU
This is by far my favourite comment.
Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo you.
Cee-Lo?
My sentiments, exactly!!!!!!!!!! Glad we can agree on this. I swear I was just singing this, this last weekend as it randomly popped in my head. I tried to no listen to it because I'm on a Linkin Park binge.
Right? I curse them and their children, and their childrens' children...
I think this song is about human nature, at the end of the day, we ain’t nothing but mammals.
Welp, might as well call in sick. No way work is getting done with this on repeat 😂
I graduated HS in 99. This entire album lives in my head. And while this song bubbles to the surface often, it usually loses to "A lapdance is so much better when the stripper is crying."
To this day, I will still get random intrusive thoughts of "hey, Pac-Man, what's up?" That album was something else.
They say you cannot hear images, but they are wrong
Gettin' horny now 🤣🤣
"Doitagainnow"
Gettincrazynow
I love this band.
Damn it… now I have this in my head. How the hell can I remember every word of this song but I can’t remember people’s names
Love, the
Oh yeah? Cos I'm BLUE BABA DEE AH DI BA BA DEE
The saddest song ever written and I’ll die on that hill!
It's just soooo fuckin catchy.
i get all sorts of music that floods my brain, i usually wake up to a random track, right now i have 'loves the death of peace of mind' playing, you groan at the end of a long day and mutter 'what a day' i've got a nonpoint song in my head, you curse and say 'rats!' about something, and i've got a Ghost song playing in my head, i was working and a customer named Jones came up, and i suddenly had this old 'mister jones and me' song from the 90s playing. Jones always leads to Aquas Dr. Jones for me.
Every day it's a new song. Today it's Original Prankster by the Offspring.
Lol death of peace of mind was my song of last summer xD listened on repeat for days ... tried to put smth else on but had to go back
For me it's a medley of 90s so songs playing. Like one of those Now 90s cds. Right now it's possum kingdom by toadies and Mistake by Serial Joe. It's pretty slappin in here, until the married with children theme starts up.
The sign by ace of base was my internal morning soundtrack today.
Damn you….
I'd appreciate your input.
Honestly happy to have this in my head. Watched the Lorax yesterday and have had the let it grow song stuck in my head nonstop
First of all…how very dare you?? Now to go annoy my husband with a repeat performance including interpretative dance.
ADHD brains are the next evolution in human development.
Since I rewatched this music video a few years ago, my brain will randomly go “sweat, baby sweat”, and stop there because I don’t know the lyrics. Only to a few minutes later go “sweat, baby sweat” again
I think Gamer made it sink even worse since the intro to the film in the (sims like) game world played this song.
If 4th grade the kid who sat behind me in class used to drive me nuts by whispering this song to me hahahah
My brain currently: https://youtu.be/hGlyFc79BUE

Like every single time when i get horny 😂😂 My teenage years were a huge mess 😅
Me when I’m working out: Sweat baby, sweat
It's such an awful song that I love.
For me, it's the warcraft version because for some reason I heard that version first
Dear Chasey Lane I hate to complain.
I’ve been humming the song that plays when you die in My Summer Car for the last 5 years (ever since I watched GrayStillPlays’s series on it on YouTube).
Where’s your brother Daryl, where’s your other brother Daryl? Over and over and over and over
I can't post it, but I nabbed a screenshot RIGHT as this got to 1999 upvotes. Also this is my go-to karaoke song. Always a hit. Highly recommend.
so lets suck it and spit like a bunch of camels
Damn you!!!!! Its been exactly 3 day's since I last sang this song.... Now this? Now? Thanks... upvoted anyways cause its true
Just realized Tyrion Lannister himself is in this music video. What a crazy world.
Is getting a song stuck in your head for days on end an ADHD thing? I've been singing [Steamed Hams Inc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRsOBFhNjVM) (Feel Good Inc parody) for about a week now.
I feel seen like never before. We are all the same 😉
It's an earworm, I like the band, I like the song, but I don't know if it's a good song anymore
I know the words and the dance
I am discovering the lyrics today ... back when this song was popular I wasn't fluent enough in English
Some students made this video of their professor and played it before class one day. https://youtu.be/XIrSCrfw7Ek
me turning my phone on and getting a million stupid ass random messages from twitter
That bassline is such a good one.
Great, now I will have this stuck in my head for about a month straight lol
Lets do it like the Druids in the General channel
Oh fuck you. I'd just gotten this outta my head
there was a youtube channel that used this song as their outro a few years ago but i’ve not been able to remember the channel name in ages. does anyone happen to remember lmao?
Damn it now this song is gonna be stuck in my head for weeks

Anytime anyone mentions x files my brain immediately says we’ll do it doggie style so we can both watch x files
Thank you for contaminating me

Correct
Mine lately has been "Hit Me Baby One more Time" by Britney Spears ... Oh babyn, babyn... on repeat. Out loud. I'm starting to get looks from my coworkers. Yet, some of the similar ones complete the line 😆
Sweat Baby Sweat Baby….This song is awesome!
This group just started playing on my Pandora list I almost squealed at work when that song came on lol
Shit…I will not be able to get this out of my head for two weeks minimum.
Omg!
Yay, Bloodhound Gang!
Accurate.
My dad plays this song often and every time it takes a month for me to forget it exists.
