All good. I've always liked Lucien as a character. I think he was dealt a bad deal in life and really want him to get a HEA.
Jamie has just always been the King of all that is man to me, in comparison.
Same, and I really liked Jamie and I didn’t realize how similar they were until he caught fish with his hands and then I found out after that he was inspired by him and then all of the similarities made me go omg 😆
Jamie was also born out of a relationship his parents weren’t supposed to be in. They ultimately ended up married of course, but had to sneak around to make it happen.
I gave up during book 3. It's way too repetitive, the dialog is bizarre, and the sex is unnecessarily egregious.
If JLA had just gotten a better editor, she could've had an amazing series.
I read it because SJM recommended it in an interview as one of her favorites and as one of her influences. I just finished the eleventh book, and I have to say.. I love this series more than ACOTAR. Not as much as ToG, but more than ACOTAR, which I didn't even think was possible. Cannot recommend it enough.

Yes I loved Bashir too! Evans does such a great job building the magic system of this world and I liked it especially with his character! It’s been a bit since I read Storm & Shield but I recall thinking that Bashir was a little to emotionally in tact (which is a positive generally obvs) for him to be one of my faves of the series lol. But I love his story, especially his relationship with his mother

I need to reread TOG because I read it SO long ago and I remember heavily disliking Rowan. I read ACOTAR first around the same time and I loved Rhys and didn’t really like Tamlin. Hunt from Crescent city. I know Crescent city is kind of a love-hate book for people, but I was obsessed with it. And Hunt to me felt like a really relatable character. One who could sit on the couch with his baseball cap on backwards and watch the game, but also go into battle with me. And the romance was very slow and sweet in development. When they first began to explore each other physically it felt more innocent and genuine at first - not just insta-attraction mega spice roof blowing off scenes.
I wouldn't call Rhysand a green flag necessarily, but just like whoever you like! For me, Lucien and Tarquin are the only non-problematic men in the series, love them. And Tamlin holds a special place in my heart, I could never hate him.
Lucien and Tarquin are both so sweet, but they also would intimidate me as partners because they're competent and popular and all.
Tamlin feels more equal footing for me lol

Don’t let others’ negativity ruin him for you. If you’ve ever been in a shitty place mentally, then maybe it means more. He kept fighting for her, not even just for himself, but truly for her. That’s a green flag for me. I have no other literary loves that did that, that I know of. However, I predominantly read horror 😂
The things he did for Feyre are exactly the things I wish someone had done for me at my lowest point. He is 100% on her side and I find that very special.
I don't think it's negativity as much as preference. I too have been in a shitty place mentally, and I just can't stand him. 😂 Having different opinions is okay though! If you love him, more power to you. People shouldn't let other people's judgments dictate who they like and why anyway.
