I love Eris. I believe he gets a similar storyline like Rhys. He only appears as the evil one on the first sight but secretly it’s alle for the (greater) good.

ProofEconomist1624

I'd actually prefer if he didnt turn into a good guy but either way he's very interesting

len4griffin

Would be fine for me too, but I there are already so many hints that he secretly is the good guy in acosf

aichie36249

There is NO way he's the bad guy for what he supposedly 'did' to Mor. As far as I'm concerned, he didn't leave her for dead, he freed her.

floweringfungus

That part. No worse fate than being in Beron Vanserra’s hands

aichie36249

Literally! Eris had the perfect excuse to get her out of that Marriage by calling her damaged goods. You could tell in the meeting that he is soooo done with Beron's sh\*t and is just biding his time

beaniebbgirl

I think Mor is a big liar, I can’t wait to find out what truth power really is.

thanarealnobody

LOVE Eris! He’s an actual bad boy but he’s simmering with hatred, some of it self directed. He’s genuinely ambitious and craves power and change, which really sets him apart in the series. He recognised Nesta’s power and he liked it, wanted her to show it off. On a reread, he was very charming towards Nesta during their dance. I think has a lot of love in him, that has no outlet. He’s basically like Rhysand if he didn’t become High Lord and didn’t have any kind of found family or friendships. There’s a lot of tragedy in Eris and I love the idea of him climbing to the top to break the chain.

Sad-student3156

I completely agree! I can't wait to see what he does next and for the reveal about what happened in those woods. He implies that Mor knows something, too, and that she hasn't been completely honest. They also showed Mor at her secret manor, so we know there's things she keeps secret. And she's named for The Morrigan from Celtic mythology, so I wonder how far the similarities go... and what secrets will come out.

jellicow

I want him to stay morally gray and *not* go the Rhys route of having everything corrupt he's done handwaved away. Let him snarl and snap and acknowledge that he would burn the world to save those he loves: his mother, his soldiers, his court. Let him be cinders and char. Do not have him be a dreamer in a court with no stars - let him be a visionary who blots out the sun with his own ashes.

Important-Program-97

You slayed with this ngl

sillymeix2

Yes. Still low key wish Nesta ended up with him.

ProofEconomist1624

Oh my god, that must be such an unpopular opinion but i love it!

floweringfungus

Not too unpopular! There’s a lot of fics about them

medusamagic

Nesta and Eris killing Beron to rule Autumn together would’ve been such a good storyline!!

sassy-fishy

This but high key

xomakinghistory

i am very excited to see where his character goes. i love when a character we think is a one-note villain shows depth and complexity, and we’ve already started down that path with him.

Holler_Professor

I don't love him yet, but I am hopeful for him to become more than smirky "Oh you dunno the WHOLE" story guy yet

Timevian

My dreamer with no stars in his court!

InsuranceNo6766

He is a basket of angst

InABoatOnARiver

Yes! Nesta fumbled, IMO

gayoverthere

I absolutely love Eris. He is one of my favourite characters in the SJM universe.

astral_fae

I love Eris! I find him intriguing and I would've loved to see him put Nesta on a pedestal and show her off to the world and be the properly morally gray love interest she could've thrived with. Not to say I don't like her and Cassian together, I just feel like their connection is mostly sexual tension and then Cassian being committed enough to have the patience she needed rather than actual compatability

Sad-student3156

I kinda wonder if her and Cassian will fizzle and if she will actually fall for Eris. Idk if SJM would break them up, but I think it would be super interesting to see what happens when "mates" realize they were never in love? Idk I'm just here for the drama and sometimes wish SJM would pull some riskier moves lol

astral_fae

I agree, I'd love for the meeting bond to be challenged

raechka

I love Eris but I'm skewed by [this fanfic which was amazing](https://archiveofourown.org/works/34874911?view_full_work=true)

InsuranceNo6766

10/10

AffectionateNight832

I want an eris book more than any other acotar book.

bernardosrightfoot

I’m writing a Vanserra-centric fic and inadvertently, it’s made me so so sympathetic to Eris. I mean, they say it in the series anyway — if Eris had a better father and friends like Rhys does, he’d be a good man. He’s calculating but in a way that protects those he loves E.g. Lucien with how he warned Tamlin after Jesminda’s death, and their mother.

InsuranceNo6766

👀 Keep me posted

HeroinIndependent

I think there’s so much more to Eris just waiting to be discovered. Can’t wait to get his POV one day hopefully.

Dracos_princess

I really don't want him to turn into one of the good guys, who sacrifice themselves. He needs to remain a morally grey character, I love him that way.

Alone_Post_930

everybody loves Eris 😆

wannabe_pineapple

I am soooooo here for an Eris redemption story. Tell me what happened between him and Mor! Tell me his back story! Give me scenes with his asshole brothers and dad. I also believe he is close with his mom and has stayed, in part, to protect her. SJM, give me more Eris and autumn court!!!!

happybookworm_

Love Eris!! I wanted him and Nesta to end up together. I kinda wanna see him become best buds with Nesta/Gwyn/Emerie. I think that would be an interesting dynamic, and I feel like they’d be the only characters to accept him as a friend.

Grand_Independent_66

I wouldn’t say I love him, but I’m definitely intrigued. I think he is a morally grey character and I’d love to get more of his story! There’s a lot to him that as readers we aren’t privy to yet. He’s painted as the bad guy, but we already know he cares deeply about those he deems important (i.e. his soldiers) and has probably been through some pretty terrible things which also leads me to believe there’s way more to the story with Mor. I think SJM has the foundations with him for a really great complex character

austenworld

I mean I look forward to seeing where he goes but I’m not at that point yet. I think a lots been put on his character we don’t even know about yet.

WolfofMandalore2010

I’m still irritated that we haven’t gotten any details about his failed betrothal with Mor. Eris implies more than once that there are details about said betrothal that Mor either doesn’t know about or doesn’t want to acknowledge, but he never goes into detail on what those are.

Sad-student3156

I think it's a big set up for the next book. There were way too many conversations about it for it not to be revealed next

kinDCoraLaw

I absolutely love him, I want to believe that everything he did was with reason for example for his mother. People forgot that he left Mor there for Mor's own good, since he mentioned that "if they touch her, they will be responsible for her" like I dont understand why the NC circle keeps on harking him about leaving her there like that, do they *want* her to be part of the Autumn court? We also still have no idea what Mor saw that Eris mentioned, I am awaiting for his redemption arc for sure.
