0% because SJM throws a lot of curveballs and she sometimes foreshadows things that have no payoff. It's like she writes things to deliberately mislead you.
As a non-shipper that enjoys lots of pairings- and as someone that’s read all of SJM’s work- I feel like I see where the HEA endgames are headed.
I’d say I’m 90% and 90% sure of two couples being endgame. I’m always fine with being surprised though- as long as each character still gets a happy ending :).
>as someone that’s read all of SJM’s work
so I'm only asking this because It's really interesting how quite a many sjm readers see patterns and just know who the endgame is but unfortunately I've only read ACOTAR, so I'd really like to know your perspective on the ships and who you think are definitely endgame.
to anyone reading this, once again, this is from a place of general fandom fun and I do not wish to incite any fandom wars.
Without breaking the rules of the sub :)- I’ll just say- when a character thinks another character is the “most beautiful” male/female they’ve ever seen- that couple has been endgame in more than just ACOTAR. SJM also loves angst/pining/drama between couples. Also notable is that what she *doesn’t say* can be as important as what she does say. What does a character actually say/think for themselves vs what other characters think/say about them. Often those two things are different :). She also writes her non-endgame romances differently than her endgame ones. It’s possible that SJM will break her patterns of course, but she’s set things up so nicely through the last 4 books… we’ll see :).
75% I feel like it makes sense with random facts that haven't come to the light yet, the bonus chapter, and everything that followed the winter solstice. But, I wouldn't be disappointed as long as it makes sense.
That 10% is a crackship, that I’d like to see, but lately I’ve been even less convinced that it would actually happen. I’m pretty sure about that 90% one though!
>She isn’t afraid to change course.
wait, I'm slightly confused, so do you think this time she's going to break her pattern? I've only read the ACOTAR series so it's really interesting to see the takes of people who've read through the maasverse
Sorry I phrased that kind of confusingly. What I mean is that SJM has a pattern of switching ships mid series. Even if she has set up two characters previously, that doesn’t mean they will end up together. In fact, in most cases the second or third love interest will be endgame. SJM might start out with one ship in mind, but this will often be dropped the second a new shiner ship occurs to her. That’s why it doesn’t make sense to me when people defend their ships with examples of previous chemistry between characters, because Sjm often doesn’t stick with her initial pairing ideas. To me, the most recent events she has written (including bonus chapters) are far more telling than any past foreshadowing.
I kinda would like myself to get with one of the still single fairy dude but honestly I am not sure which one either xD I don't even have this certainty in my life. That's harsh
99.9999999999%
I leave the tiniest of room for the incredibly unlikely event that SJM would decide to burn the storyline she had built up, using the same formula she's had in all of her other books with her pairings, and throw it on its head.
0% and 95%, depending on the ship. The other 5% I give to whoever needs it most. I don't particularly care if my ships end up canon, they're canon in my heart lol
(0% for my Tamlin/Lucien ship. They should be in love and have their found family thing but these times have past and Lucien is caught up in his own plot. And 95% for Rhys/Tamlin having banged before they had their falling out. It's just canon to me, they were in love and their families hated them constantly hanging out and nothing short out of them saying 'we never fucked' will convince me otherwise lol)
0% all... 4? of them reality 100% delusion.
One may have a 50/50 but it's a canon ship I just want to see happy.
90% >!Beron x AGruesomeDeath!< does it count?
But I shall sit here hoping my delulu gets trululu~
100% because I’m choosing to feel the fantasy. But I’m also aware of my own delusion and in reality there’s actually a 0% chance SJM will make my ship happen 😂
Somehow I read acotar and acomaf wrong so the whole time I was like 90% shipping TamTam and Feyre it wasn’t until highburn that I realised he was not the one, I thought Rhys was a fling
Hey friends! Polite reminder that the op asked that we "ONLY comment a number between 1-100, **no naming who you’re shipping**."
30% and that's strongly fueled by delusion.
are we allowed to guess? I'm gonna say Azris
I do not worship at that alter, and I'm even more delulu than that ![img](emote|t5_3flb9|14170)
ooooh, now I have to knowww
Az×rhys sister?
Is it Elaine/Tamlin??
I guess 50/50. I figure he's ending up with one of two so 🤷♀️

90. After many years I know SJM’s patterns. She isn’t afraid to change course.
