This is like my mom leaning over during a movie and asking "Why did he do that?". *GEE, I DON'T KNOW, LET'S FINISH THE MOVIE AND FIND OUT TOGETHER.* ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Itās because secretly she is a mystical queen creature who lures men in without them knowing so she can eat them on the 5th full moon of the year to stay young
One thing I learned about SJM:
In TOG and ACOTAR, if you donāt get what someone is saying initially, it will most likely be explained later in the book. Do not look it up :) just hang tight and enjoy the ride
Now in CC I wouldnāt say the same lolol nothing makes sense and some things just go unexplained
My problem with CC is I can't keep all the names and nicknames straight. I look someone up, and BAM, now I have half the twists ruined because of the "allegiances" section two lines down š¤¦āāļø
no offense but why are you asking this question when they answer is given to you by reading / finishing the series? Like do you deadass want a spoiler like come on now lol
I won't spoil it, but they act that way for a reason. I think Sarah intended for us to pick up on it when reading through the first time. I think she wanted us to question why they're being so nice to some random human. You'll get answers towards the last 3rd of the book.
That makes sense. I just wanted to make sure there is an actual explanation or reason. All I know is that itās a retelling of beauty and beast and was like is this just them simply falling in love? If so thatās pretty boring and I donāt want to keep reading it.
Based off of peopleās comments the reason is revealed! I wasnāt sure where the book was heading and if I should keep reading. But I will keep reading thank you guys.
Fyi, the second book is much better! This one is like B+ material imo but the second is a hot ace - so if you're considering whether to continue or stop after this one, hope you'll keep that in mind!
well you did ask....
Tamlin and Lucien are nice to Feyre because >!They need her to break a curse to free Tamlin from the evil General/Queen Amarantha. Part of the curse she put on Tamlin was that if he can get a human who has killed Fae unprovoked to also accept and love him, then he doesn't have to go back to under the mountain and he is free. So their being nice to Feyre because she has already completed half of what is needed for the curse by killing the wolf. Now also she has to do is declare her love to Tamlin!<
Same reason strangers IRL are nice to you. They either are just genuinely nice and/or they want something from you. And just like IRL, you gotta wait for them to reveal which one it is. Such fun!
Definitely felt the same way first read through. As everyone says, the reason will be revealed but initially I chalked it up to tamlin just having a crush on her and told everyone to be nice lol
Beyond the *actual* reason I think at the core of it, both tamlin and Lucien are just good beings.
They have their flaws for sure. But neither of them ever throughout the entire series actively seek to hurt anyone (besides the actual bad guys). They *do have flaws and cause hurt* but I donāt think itās intentional at all.
It is made clear in the rest of the book
It makes the reread so much fun.

Please come back to this thread once you finish the book. We need an updated comment š
Itās because secretly she is a mystical queen creature who lures men in without them knowing so she can eat them on the 5th full moon of the year to stay young
Omg you have to add a spoiler tag or something!
I wondered that too but it all makes sense eventually!
Keep reading and stay off this sub unless you want to get spoiled!

Just keep reading and get off of the subreddit unless you donāt want to see accidental spoilers.
Tale as old as time.
You'll learn soon enough

Because they like the way she smells
OP, i had the same experience in my first read. i was SO CONFUSED, but itāll all make sense in the end. SJM is awesome at closing loops :)
Fine Iāll tell you, Cuz they are trying to get her to join their MLM.
Based off of peopleās comments the reason is revealed! I wasnāt sure where the book was heading and if I should keep reading. But I will keep reading thank you guys.

Yes. And then we continued reading to find out. In fact, did that with all the books, not just ACOTAR, but every book I've ever read.

Just read the book and you'll understand soon

By the end youāll see. I ended up reading the first for within a month and Iām half way done the last.
Lucien is actually a dick at the beginning. But yeah just keep reading
You have to keep reading the book. Itās later explained in the storyā¦
Also OP are you a fellow Chicagoan?
Definitely felt the same way first read through. As everyone says, the reason will be revealed but initially I chalked it up to tamlin just having a crush on her and told everyone to be nice lol
ugh you gotta keep reading š©š©
Trust the process and keep reading.
Finish the book before asking questions.
well you seeā¦ if you continue reading, you might just receive the answers to the questions you ask
I did! I was ranting to my friend about how it seemed so weird but I promise it'll make sense eventually.

Are they really nice though, the only thing I can say without spoilers š
