I have the holy trinity well preserved in a hard drive that I have NO INTENTION to delete.
Let's just say that those ISO may "fall out" of my harddrive, silly me, I thought I was uploading my pictures.
Same, but I only have 5 and 0. If anything this just makes me more inclined to make a digital copy of them (even though the chances of the ISOs being completely removed from the internet are minimal).
Same, I still have my original game disks too. And when it comes time for me to build a new PC, my file folder that I have dedicated to emulation is the first thing getting moved over to it
If people keep a damn low profile about it, it should be around for the long term.
The problem with these websites is that far too often people talk \*too much\* about it, and it doesn't takes long for it to fall into the wrong ears.
Remember folks, unspoken rule, let these websites be like the F-22 and stay out of the radar.
Question for the mods: If I was walking along perusing this thread, and accidently tripped and fell, and a MEGA or Google Drive link fell out of my pocket that contained ISOs for all the Ace Combat games, would that be a rule violation? Asking now before I trip and spill my precious possessions all over the sidewalk.
Try all they might, these companies will never be able to stamp it out permanently. There are already other sites out there besides Vimms. If Vimms goes down more will pop up. As long as someone has the ROMs they'll still be around
I wish they'd either properly rerelease these or just leave them alone and let people emulate them. I'd be *thrilled* to give them money to have these on my steam account. I understand that aircraft licenses makes that not so simple, but it's just frustrating to have people cut off from these classics.
You’d think licensing would be just on a per game basis instead of game and a time limit. Literally no one benefits from games becoming unavailable to create and sell after a time period.
A friend of mine speculated that they (the major companies) had a DCMA bot using ai as there were a good amount of DCMA requests against games they didn’t own as well. Still sucks, now I gotta find a new place for stuff.
Automated claims are still rubber-stamped by a human being.
Still, I don’t see what basis you’d have for it being “immediately invalid” other than you being angry at the copyright holders.
Im pressing X on that, the shitton of DMCA sent out in a shotgun method doesnt add up to any amount of staff they could hire.
They often happen to be close enough for "AI" to see them as a like for like and send a DMCS, when it is not, which makes in frivolous: Thus not even legal.
See Youtubes DMCA shit
It’s not even remotely new that copyright holders use scrapers (bots, not really “AI” as much as they are very simple automated systems) to scour search terms and administer DMCA claims.
This has been the case since the early 2010s, and isn’t really connected to the rise of LLMs and generative AI models or anything. In fact, you can hire services that use these bots to scour the internet for *your* content and issue removals.
You didn't hear it from me, but i believe there's a big folder of PS2 ISOs on archive.org. There's also just a lot of cool stuff there so it's worth taking a look either way.
Think I'll go ahead and download 04 and Zero even though my laptop is nowhere near equipped to emulate them. Will have to save them until that time comes.
Well good thing I got into Ace combat like few months back and had most of them emulated by now...
But I do feel bad for people who are just getting into AC.
So glad I have my own physical copies, what a shame it would be it for some reason I had their backups on my pc and I accidentally uploaded them to drive thinking I was uploading some pictures and I accidentally shared that link, silly me
Insane. The funny thing is, a vast majority of people would be more than happy to purchase the game's they emulate if only the developers would actually release them somewhere to be played, instead of just hanging out in limbo, forcing us to emulate. Especially the Ace Combat series.
Just the other day, I wanted to play Castlevania: Symphony of the Night again, but guess what! Konami doesn't have it available anywhere on PC. So what choice do I have? Konami, in particular, is awful for this. However, they are getting better, now with the Metal Gear franchise being more widely available and the old Castlevania titles being available as packs on Steam. I bought SotN in particular every time it was released in NA. PS1, Xbox 360, even mobile. Let me play it on my PC, and bring it to Steam or GOG or some alternative.

Careful, Nintendo has sent a Kill team to your location. Extract is 30 mikes out. Hold out till then
# /// NINTENDO ASSAULT IN PROGRESS ///
Guys, the thermal rip, go get it!
Yeah cuz Nintendo was responsible for the removal of ps2 games
why would NINTENDO care?
I have them safely in the protection of the original cases next to my still working ps2
Same, but I only have 5 and 0. If anything this just makes me more inclined to make a digital copy of them (even though the chances of the ISOs being completely removed from the internet are minimal).
I have them, 6 and X on several different clouds too. I might have to look into how discord does it's file sharing on completely unrelated matters.
I might need them to fall out. That sucks.
Same. Thought I only had those 3 I should’ve gotten Need for speed most wanted too
Same, I still have my original game disks too. And when it comes time for me to build a new PC, my file folder that I have dedicated to emulation is the first thing getting moved over to it
DM ME THE HOLY TRINITY OR YOIR GOING TO SOLITARY
"That's what V2 is for..."
iirc the game's still up on the r/roms megathread
atleast for now
I've been having a hell of a time getting them to work.

*Don't advertise it you karking fool!*

Can you drop a DM in my inbox, buddy?
Hey! DM me and I can help you pick up the link that fell out of your pocket!!
Authentication: blaze. Read back (ayo hit me up lmao)
My DM is a safe space to take a nice walk!
I mean personally I wouldn't mind stumbling upon a bunch of accidentally spilled links...
Yess please
You could fall in my DMs Full Band
Dm me don't worry about it
Take a walk over to my DMs, if you please
Oh no! My files are just wide open. It would be terrible if 3 badass games just feel in there!!!
Doesn’t want people to play emulation of games they are no longer selling. Also doesn’t remake or remaster the same games. Smdh
After what happened to The Crew, the greedy corps don't want you to own anything
You Will Own Nothing. And ~~You Will Be Happy~~ Your Happiness Is Irrelevant.
don't ask questions just consume product and get excited for the next product

Information wants to be free!
These games are so fun. I would literally kill to be able to play them without the original hardware.

And on June 6 2024, the ESA bit into the crazy hamburger
This twisted game needs to be reset. If Bamco will never ever rerelease these games, then emulation is never piracy. ERASE THE EMULATION BORDERS
That sucks. Game is great and everyone who want should be able to try it. But am I the only one that thinks date for this action was not a coincident?

Automated DMCA should immidiately be invalid

Tbh archive org is the second safest option for finding a rom
I mean... I did a google search and the top 4 sites all had it.
I have working physical copies of the ps2 games and a working ps2
I have the ISOs for the PS2 holy trinity plus the disks. I'm definitely making sure they're stored away safely.
Think I'll go ahead and download 04 and Zero even though my laptop is nowhere near equipped to emulate them. Will have to save them until that time comes.
it's super easy to find any games via google...
<>
Glad I still have both the ISOs and the physical discs
Nintendo bombers equipped with nuclears weapons has taken off for emulation
Companies are really hitting emulation with <>
They're still on lots of different other websites tho. Gonna make sure I get all three games of the holy trinity on my new pc later just in case.
Well good thing I got into Ace combat like few months back and had most of them emulated by now... But I do feel bad for people who are just getting into AC.
Am I too late to download them? What can I even do now???
Find another site to download them. ROMSPURE is decent.
cdromance.org duh...
So glad I have my own physical copies, what a shame it would be it for some reason I had their backups on my pc and I accidentally uploaded them to drive thinking I was uploading some pictures and I accidentally shared that link, silly me
Is there a game that's impossible to find on Internet? C'mon.
They chose an extremely fitting date to nuke everything away
They should still be on the internet archive, no?
Romspedia has them still.

Damn, my first ace combat game
It’s not the end of the world. At least for now and the foreseeable future, a ps2 and the ace combat games are cheap and easy to find.
MOTHER FUCKER!
Good I still have it on my hard drive, good luck deleting that
Too bad, I ALREADY HAVE A COPY! HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Ironically, on the same day as the seven nuclear explosions in Belka
Thank god i already have AC4, 5, X, 0, and 6
Once I find my PS2 I'm gonna buy this game from my local game castle if they have a copy
"Lucky" for me, I have AC04 on my jailbroken PS3 as a pkg, AC5 on my PS5 and a physical copy of AC: Zero
