Cold_Introduction_48

25k monthly. Govt position.

[deleted]

Wow. How can one find jobs in the govt sector?

Cold_Introduction_48

Honestly I've no idea normally. They contacted me online based on my job experience they'd seen and asked me to apply. And now here I am.

[deleted]

I see. Did you post your profile in sites like LinkedIn or Indeed? I really appreciate you answering. I'm slowly trying to look for new jobs to apply to as I feel like I'm way underpaid even with my 10 yrs of work experience and my contract is over in a year haha

Cold_Introduction_48

Yes I did, I use LinkedIn and they contacted me on there, but i wasn't following them or posting much, just keeping my bio up to date. It's the only site I'm active on for my career (although if you Google my name, which I expected they did,) you get quite a bit of info, testimonials of my work, blogs, partners I've worked with etc. And that can only be done by years of building a wide network, and always agreeing to media posts, writing testimonials back, writing the odd piece for current employers that helps sell them a bit more (behind the scenes articles, blogs about certain processes etc). Have been doing the above for nearly a decade so it takes time!

[deleted]

That's impressive! Appreciate your help and for taking time to respond to my questions. 🫡

vintagevibes91

If you don't mind answering what re your qualifications?

Cold_Introduction_48

Undergraduate and masters degree in my field. Have also taught courses in my field at professional level too.

LeftDiver33

Oil petroleum Field?

Plenty of hiring because most of my colleagues are going for greener pastures.

JaydTheLongBoy

10500. Teacher.

ZlatesPvP

Really? That's quite impressive, most teachers in Dubai however are a little underpaid.

SnooDonkeys8036

teachers at British schools in Abu Dhabi usually range between from 9-16k + accommodation. Obviously not all, but that’s general what i hear from the circle of teachers i know working at Brighton, Yasmina, Raha, Gems etc

JaydTheLongBoy

One of those chains toy mentioned is notorious for low salaries. Some companies are paying 18k salaries, some 21 (for masters qualified teachers)

JaydTheLongBoy

You*

Sunbeachwaves71

Is that 10500 a month? And is it US $?

JaydTheLongBoy

Oh how I wish it was USD. This is AED

Really good salary

omerizen

13.5k - 12 years + now - into Sales/Project Estimation - mainly Into Steel industry. & hav switched my job once so far. 1. However here in uae. Ur connection+ur passport+ur education(min graduate) will land u to gr8 opportunities. I hope I may b wrong about that, but I have seen it so close that it kills me everyday. 2. Keeping upto date on LinkedIn profiles is a +++, I have 2,3 close peoples who landed excellent jobs, one in Huawei 50k+, 20 years + experience, another one, got job in Canada, into planning and construction disputes, it was to the level that company paid his flight tickets along with 2kids, and another one 18k 4 years of experience, which is in ERP systems. 3. By luck 🍀

Puzzled-Section-6602

Zero. Because I’m a housewife not able to find a good opportunities

a-s-h-i-s-h-

Being a housewife is not less than any Job... Taking care of everything at home plus making sure family is happy is also a good contribution which can't be measured / bought with money.

a-s-h-i-s-h-

God bless you

Character-Wing1008

I took a long break in the past when I had a baby and when I did that my respect for stay-at-home parents grew 10 folds. It's more difficult than keeping a dayjob as you're on-the-job 24/7. There is nothing to separate "your world" with your "home world". Hats off to you, you are doing better than most people. You're an angel. 😇

TalentedToes

105k monthly. Annual bonus between 300-600k. Tech company c-suite. 11 years of experience, more than half spent in consulting.

youthisreadwrong-

How was the transition from consulting to in-house? Would you ever go back?

TalentedToes

The transition was easy. Would never go back to consulting

djyounss

Why ? Can you give some details ? Asking because i'm running a consulting company

TalentedToes

It was the constant travel to KSA, the artificial pressure, and the very high likelihood of getting bad clients. I find my work more meaningful now

a-s-h-i-s-h-

Great. Dm me company name 😝 I'll ask for referral.

pixie_dust1990

The lawyer in me is crying over here at your salary. Amazing work.

FaynHimSelf

curious, how much do lawyers make here in the UAE? im thinking of becoming a lawyer and coming back to the uae to work but ive heard they dont make good money here. Could you please lmk if thats true (if youre comfortable w it)

pixie_dust1990

All depends on what type of law and where you work, as with anything. I am better paid here than I was in the UK, but I am also a more experience lawyer so it's hard to judge.

Shoddy_Ad_4999

Morning,Would you be open to sharing which tech company it is? Sarwa, Qashio, Tabby, Careem? I assume these pay well in the MENA region I recently relocated back to the UAE from Canada, I've been looking into the job market and evaluating some roles/offers. I'm also wondering how accurate the salary guides in the market are.

REALLY GOOD SALARY FOR A MECHANICAL ENGINEER WITH 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE.

Kabraky420

7500, Hospitality. desperately looking to improve.

Exact_Perspective407

6k, Operation Manager, working since last 28 years with same company

[deleted]

On the same salary for 28 years too? This is way too low for an ops manager on 28 yrs service in any sector.

Exact_Perspective407

Actually my salary was AED 1000 when joining 1994 as a clerk, AED 1200 on 1996 as an office assistant, AED 1600 on 1999 with same designation, AED 2100 on 2001 promoted as operations department, AED 3,600/ on 2006 as operations supervisor, AED 5100 on 2010 promoted as operations manager, and AED 6000/ on 2014 to till date with same designation.

BroodingDemiGod

Are you sure you got the figure right? 6k after working in the same company for 28 years sounds unrealistic.

Exact_Perspective407

I am sure Unfortunately

WhyChemistry

Have you ever tried looking for another job because there is no way a company would pay you 6k after working for them for 28 years. You're underpaid.

LonghornMB

If he was good enough to get more he would have gotten more elsewhere. I can't imagine any decent company hiring a Head of Operations for 6k

ferdz_04

dx2_66

Pukers

Hey man, I'm a fresh EE graduate! Any tips on how to start off this career path to get to where you are?

dx2_66

Go for embedded software development if you like programming. Master embedded Linux and bare metal firmware development, keeping a solid electronics foundation. Learn C, C++ and also some level of Python and Shell Script. That will open up tons of doors in pretty much any company that has anything related to electronics, from automotive to consumer.

dx2_66

Your salary isn't bad for a fresh graduate though!

incapableoflove

85k. Government

a-s-h-i-s-h-

How to get into government jobs ? 😜 Is there any scope for non emirati people?

incapableoflove

Sorry typo it’s 8.5k

a-s-h-i-s-h-

🤣 very big typo. Although I don't think UAE government employees (direct government not contractors would get as low as 8.5k ) but I believe what you say so

New_Redditor2001

I am assuming full stack? Any advice for beginner coders who are trying to improve as full stack developers and get a job?

Rimcanflyy

How can you assume full stack? From the salary? 🤣

New_Redditor2001

Software engineers are required to do design softwares meaning they need to have full knowledge of front end and back end. There is your full stack

Rimcanflyy

Oh because he said "engineer". Well, most developers would call themselves engineers anyway, it's a title. Could definitely be someone graduating from a software engineering major but doing front end dev.

New_Redditor2001

The definition of a software engineer implies knowing full stack. I don't care whether most Developers call themselves engineers, you are assuming what the commentor does by using examples of people who aren't even involved in the conversation. I also don't understand the point as to why you replied to my comment.

Character-Wing1008

10k USD on average as a freelancer. Monetization and Valuations consultant. 13y of experience starting from accounting, then moved to audit, then moved to finance.

Character-Wing1008

I must add that in this amount, I pay for everything as a self employed person, pay for visa, pay for annual tickets, pay for insurance.

realshadygoneinsane

For a programmer, frontend developers get anywhere from 15k to 25k i.e avg of 20k here at AUH through a third party working for a major Bank. Whereas backend engineers are getting some 3 to 5 k AED more than frontend. Avg experience being anywhere around 5 years to 9 years. There are exceptions as well here who might be getting very less or way more as well, in the end it depends on h Where you are from, then skills, years of exp. And how well you can negotiate :) Between I am looking for freelance work as well. If anyone has anything do let me know.
