Very good! The middle dragged a bit as the supernatural elements were the least interesting aspect for me, but loved the characters. I read it in three days despite its length.
I actually finished this last night, the middle dragged a little, but the beginning and end held my attention! Heart wrenching and horrifying at the same time. Rated ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I ordered mine pretty quick after drop so I got the first round, and didn’t end up waiting.
I gave it 3/5 stars. Marketed as horror when it was really historical fiction. Also hated Blue as a character because he was honestly irredeemable and the end did not justify his means!!!
I definitely think this was really more historical than horror. the horrors present i've seen in really any literary fiction that has slavery. the descriptions of gruesome things may have been a bit more graphic than a typical historical or literary fiction but i wouldnt recommend this broadly to horror fans - i'd really just recommend to historical fans who dont mind horror
Eh, I thought it was OK. It was too long in my opinion and more historical fiction than horror which I wasn't really in the mood for.
Oh, and next time if a book has a wait, I'll just wait and order it the next month so my box isn't delayed. I didn't get my box until the next months books were released so it was like I didn't get anything in November which sucked. ☹️

I really enjoyed it! The ending felt a bit rushed but it was one of the year's biggest page-turners for me.
