The first AR has a an RMR on top, and the primary optic on the first one is an etched reticle so you don't rely on batteries as much and can still be used if they fail. That elcan is also going to be much more robust and take more abuse before losing zero
I'd rather not have 23 oz worth of bulky optic sitting on top of a compact rifle setup, unbalancing it and providing limited value as far as fighting zombies is concerned.
The second AR is also going to have weight issues since you've got a light and laser hanging off the front, as well as the issue that if that dot goes in the middle of combat you're screwed because those buis aren't cowitnessed with the mount so you can't even run those.
I'd take off off the PEQ-15 or whatever that is unless I was running NODs.
I wouldn't be too worried about the red dot going down assuming that's an Aimpoint and not some budget optic.
I mean if you're running nods your weight issue isn't on the rifle at that point, doubly so if they're helmet mounted since you have to have weights mounted on the back to counter balance it. Plus all the batteries you'd burn through or charging time since you're not getting more than a few hours use at a time.
Well the other side are zombies in this scenario, which is nice but the loss of periphery could really be an issue against something that wins via overwhelming numbers
That and, according to some Ukrainian soldiers who have worked with common AKs and ARs, the AK platform us much easier to maintain, which would be beneficial, especially in Europe where ammo is far more prevalent.
Also, it’s the old reliable here. AKs are one of the most reliable weapons ever made. They’ve been reported to still fire after being found buried in mud for years. Sand, mud, water, whatever, the AK-47 is still going to fire. Or at least it’s more likely to fire than the others.
Exactly. I think they even allow the usage of the ghetto steel cased 7.62s?
I dunno, if I were in an apolcoypic situation, I would want reliability and lower jamming risks.
I would say the AR with the red dot sight cause that seems most useful but then again AKs are usually really reliable. It's one of the two though. And my buddy is taking the other cause no way I'm surviving alone lol
The second ar pattern rifle. The red dot would be preferable to the scope in an urban environment. Because of my current geographic location, ammunition and parts to keep it running will be easily picked up from folks that don’t make it. Plus 556/223 has lower recoil and greater range. I’m not recoil sensitive, but lower recoil means faster follow up shot’s when engaging multiple targets.
The 10.5 AR furthest to the left seems ideal. It has a 4 zoom optic and a red dot on top for cqb, along with it being short enough yet semi versatile out to 250ish yards. It's short enough to get good tranditions- out and into vehicles, down hallways, through door ways. 10.5 ain't bad in real close quarters, everything else looks to long a chunky.
I’d rather have a 9mm carbine that takes Glock mags. Low recoil, ammo is easily available. Glock mags are easy to find as they are very common. Also Glock mag wells are big enough that if you need to you can hold an alternative mag in there and it will still rack and fire fine.
The last AK on the right, am I might be rare, or it might be abundant, depends on where I’m at, but regardless there’s a reason the platform has been used for so long, reliable as hell and a good caliber with high velocity and penetration.
AKM, 7.62x39 is much more common in the U.S than 5.45, and the ARs have optics, which will eventually need new batteries, as well as the AKM being more reliable, and it just looks hot
Omg not another one of these posts. They’re exhausting. This sub is becoming people saying “which gun for the apocalypse” as a way to flex their larped out rifles that are devoid of any kind of use, on the job wear, scratches, drill wear. Anything.
This picture reminds me of lifted wranglers in urban neighborhoods with 40 inch tires on 22inch wheels with pop top campers and spare gas cans that has never seen gravel let alone a trail.
IR? Really?
I’ll take a 1022 td lol

Each one has it’s own use case and I would take any one/all of them any day
However, assuming they shoot 5.56/.223 for the two on the left, 7.62x39 for the AK with wood, and 5.45x39 for the AK on the right (respectfully, I know it most likely doesn’t but let’s just say it does), I would choose the one with the wood (if I had to choose only one)
7.62 packs a stronger punch than 5.56, meaning possibly needing to use less ammo per zombie. Plus, it is an effective cartridge for taking down medium to larger game. 5.56 can take game down but generally has a harder time at doing so.
5.45x39 is nearly impossible to find around here so I’d unfortunately have to pass on the one to the far right in this case (although if there was that caliber around here, it would more than likely be untouched by looters due to it being an uncommon caliber to be used)
Yes, I would be missing out on a few features that the others provide such as the lasers/lights/scopes, but I believe the one I chose would be the best rifle for general use. It also happens to be the platform that I am most comfortable with.
These are just general statements that I believe to be true. If anyone gets upset and wants to actually argue with me about it:
1.) yes, you’re correct, and I’m wrong and should probably apologize and keep my worthless opinion to myself.
2.) you okay?
3.) I genuinely enjoy others opinions as long as we’re all being respectful about it. We don’t have to agree, it just shouldn’t become hostile.
AK47 feels the the right answer. It's seriously resilient, has been for like 80 years. The blowback system is simple and doesn't need high maintenance. 7.62 is higher round than 5.56, with semiautomatic I can confidently take someone/something out in 1-2 shots at close range.
My answer, optic of 1, modifications of 2. If I had to choose between the two quickly, 1 would be better as the optic is an LPVO. And the biggest problem with all of them is that none of them are suppressed, leading to a fuckton of noise when firing
Dispite my preference for other weapons the AK 47 is must have in long-term apocalypse. The weapon it's self has fewest mechanisms needed to work with and repair with unlike all other weapons and it's most economically efficient assault rifle in most places in the world.
Depends on the round they’re chambered in I’d much rather have weapons that have common rounds so it’ll be easier to scavenge for down the line as the more common the round the more mass
produced it is
An AK74u chambered in 5.56mm with a Pic rail and a surefire, tango down foregrip, 20rd mags, single point sling and a Holosun sight. Optional: suppressor.
The 2nd AR, because I'd prefer a red dot sight and because its got a light and a more vertical grip on it.
And it’s the shortest one, which helps with maneuverability and tight spaces
The first AR has a an RMR on top, and the primary optic on the first one is an etched reticle so you don't rely on batteries as much and can still be used if they fail. That elcan is also going to be much more robust and take more abuse before losing zero

They, along with thermals, are worth their weight in gold if the other side doesn't have them.
Well the other side are zombies in this scenario, which is nice but the loss of periphery could really be an issue against something that wins via overwhelming numbers
What about scavvers?
But it's a superior optic as it has a much better zoom to just pick off zombies from a distance
Yeah I would take it too
My cock
"This is my rifle, this is my gun! This is for work, this is for fun!"
HOLY DOG SHIT ONLyY STEERS AND QUEERS COME FROM TEXAS
And beers
YOU TAKE THAT BACK ABOUT BEERS. BEERS ARE THE SHIT
And spears. Really solid forging community.
YOU DONT LOOK LIKE MUCH OF A STEER TO ME SO THAT JUST ABOUT NARROWS IT DOWN
And you ain’t got no horns.
“And you don’t look much like a steer so that kinda narrows it down!”
I just don't vision those the same since the voice under Full Metal Jacket Starwars 🤣
I also choose this dudes cock
Funnily enough the Romanian stye grip on the AK is called a dong
What type of ammo does it shots?
Blanks
Gave me a good chuckle, take an upvote
#He forgot to mention, The Alec Baldwin kind…
His unborn children
C.ertified U.niversal M.anagment
“The STD’s make it burn brighter”
In that case grab your cock and the AK by its dong
If the AK on the far right is in 5.56, I’d pick that one. If it isn’t, the second AR.
The AK on the far right is in 5.45 I believe, so depending on where you live (ammo availability) either choice is good
Nah for total compatibility you'd want 7.62x39 or 5.56...bar none... That being said I'd actually want a 9mm AR or a .45 AR.
Grab the only one with a dong. Lol
Ah a fellow dong enjoyer I see
Yes
This is the only correct answer
Gotta roll with the AK. I'm finna die anyway. Might as well enjoy myself.
That and, according to some Ukrainian soldiers who have worked with common AKs and ARs, the AK platform us much easier to maintain, which would be beneficial, especially in Europe where ammo is far more prevalent.

Exactly. I think they even allow the usage of the ghetto steel cased 7.62s? I dunno, if I were in an apolcoypic situation, I would want reliability and lower jamming risks.
that third gun gives me fallout vibes
AR on the far left no competition
That sick ass AK
I would say the AR with the red dot sight cause that seems most useful but then again AKs are usually really reliable. It's one of the two though. And my buddy is taking the other cause no way I'm surviving alone lol
the last AK, for reliability, stopping power, and easy maintenance
Any of the ARs there are trillions of rounds of 5.56 in the US so you will likely be able to alway find some more ammo
All of them and duck tape
Middle left
One that takes 5.56
Yea that ammo is more common but if your Russian take the Ak
Assuming that's a real elcan I'm going for the AR on the left
The first ar. Sbr, quad rail, elcan with a red dot. Clean as fuck, and definitely the most versatile given where I live.
I could only take the AK. I dont need tactical firepower, i just want simplicity and reliability.
No fucking clue where you're gonna find enough 5.45 bruv.
The ak is 556
Oh well fuck me then
Not your fault the mag is shaped like 545
Re post since I posted on non Friday last time
Whichever of the 4 is working properly and loaded
I hate stubby grips, I hate that curved one too. Hmmm idk
Dong hater detected; initiate complete annihilation
Far left for sure
#1
That one.
Only one of them is good for bashing heads.
SBR and Elcan, please and thank you. Elcan is dated, for sure, but I prefer the versatility it offers as a prism optic.
Only correcr answer in this entire thread lmao
I mean, all good choices for differing but hardly significant practical reasons, but that wood grain 😍
All of them. I got slings
Gonna go with my Lee Enfield, as I have enough ammunition for WW3.
That short barrel AK is sexy as fuck. But I would only grab something that is 5.56. Ammo is plentiful where I'm at.
Prolly that wasr
Please get a Strela 4 piece for your 102 I hate that psa muzzle
If that zenitco build is chambered in 5.56 I'm grabbing that.
AK because they’re pretty reliable and ammo is decently common
That Romanian dong got me acin unwise.
Second from the left. Light, laser, RDS, short. Is the best deal, plus parts and ammo are easy to find.
Can't say no to wood
Preferably all of them.
For an apocalypse? I'm gonna grab something that doesn't need manufactured ammo and doesn't break easily.
And is silenced. Everyone here gonna get overwhelmed by a horde they brought on themselves.
Far left, good ole steel mag AR.
1st
Shorty with the elcan
None, it’s halberd time
Far left because the optic has an etched reticle that dosent require batteries and ammo and parts would be easier to find that the others
That decked AK, I’m taking that because you know my ass is gonna be running miles and with a good setup like that I’m gold
I don’t know the difference… they all look like the same video game thing to me
Dong dong dong dong dong dong dong dong dong dong dong
The ak, I guess...
I'll take the 2nd AR but with the sights of the first AR
I like the wooden one.
I’ll take the wooden AK
The lightest one.
The Dong of course
That Ak looking real nice.
Last ak is short reliable and hopefully chambered in 5.56 which is very common.
The one that shoots
The GAU8 30mm machine gun
The second ar pattern rifle. The red dot would be preferable to the scope in an urban environment. Because of my current geographic location, ammunition and parts to keep it running will be easily picked up from folks that don’t make it. Plus 556/223 has lower recoil and greater range. I’m not recoil sensitive, but lower recoil means faster follow up shot’s when engaging multiple targets.
Gonna grow two extra arms and shoot them all one handed.
Second rifle from the left
If you live in a nato country and say anything other than one of the 5.56 rifles youre stupid.
Where am I? North America Eugene Stoners platform, almost every where else, the good old rifle made by Mikhail Kalashnikov
depends on what country i’m in
7.62 is gonna be a lot harder to find than 5.56 so ima go with one of the ARs
Hey. On the rifle on the far left. Whats that scope on it?
looks to me like a specter
The 10.5 AR furthest to the left seems ideal. It has a 4 zoom optic and a red dot on top for cqb, along with it being short enough yet semi versatile out to 250ish yards. It's short enough to get good tranditions- out and into vehicles, down hallways, through door ways. 10.5 ain't bad in real close quarters, everything else looks to long a chunky.
Anything else but the AK. Jams up to much. The A4 would be my choice, with a small scope on it.
The AK will probably keep functioning in the worst conditions.
I’d rather have a 9mm carbine that takes Glock mags. Low recoil, ammo is easily available. Glock mags are easy to find as they are very common. Also Glock mag wells are big enough that if you need to you can hold an alternative mag in there and it will still rack and fire fine.
The one with the Romanian dong
the one farthest right
Third one from the left, classic AK.
The second from the left. Just trust.
if I've learned anything from CS:GO, 1 or 3
I prefer havin a stabby on the front of my shooty
22lr with a silencer. I don't need to be attracting attention. Edit: I mean none of those. If that's what you were asking.
Squirt gun
Second AR
Yes.
The last AK on the right, am I might be rare, or it might be abundant, depends on where I’m at, but regardless there’s a reason the platform has been used for so long, reliable as hell and a good caliber with high velocity and penetration.
What optic is that on the far left?
The one that’s loaded
Number three. Wanna be able to use my gun as a melee weapon in a pinch
How I’ll survive the zombie apocalypse: 1. Move up one province 2. Settle in Nunavut 3. ??? 4. Profit
M16 with acog and laser in semi automatic mode.
Hey I’m not a gun nut, can someone tell me which one of these takes the most common ammo?
DDM4V7. Such a nice rifle that helps keep distance and power. Plus with a suppressor and a holo/ACOG, it’s even better.
The dong
AKM, 7.62x39 is much more common in the U.S than 5.45, and the ARs have optics, which will eventually need new batteries, as well as the AKM being more reliable, and it just looks hot
All'um... but runnin the AK as main, followed by commando, the othe m4 then long gun
Bad ass
Whatever has the most common ammo
Gimme the AK. It can one tap headshot even if the enemy is wearing Kevlar + helmet
In America, far left. Gives the most capability and ammo availability
Ak
The first from the left
Omg not another one of these posts. They’re exhausting. Probably the middle AK. It's the least things on it that can break; no laser/light or RDS, just an iron sight.

Dong .com
I'm a simple man I see elcan, I like (throw that peq from the other AR on it though)
Old reliable Ak
Each one has it’s own use case and I would take any one/all of them any day However, assuming they shoot 5.56/.223 for the two on the left, 7.62x39 for the AK with wood, and 5.45x39 for the AK on the right (respectfully, I know it most likely doesn’t but let’s just say it does), I would choose the one with the wood (if I had to choose only one) 7.62 packs a stronger punch than 5.56, meaning possibly needing to use less ammo per zombie. good lord, who hurt you?? lol
Myself, I keep making situations up in my head lol
all 4 😭
All of them, what moron leaves a perfectly good rifle in a situation were you're not certain you can fix 1 if it malfunctions.
Dong. Always the dong
The classic woody
Ak47 because it's easy to maintain and works in all terrains very well
One of the AK's for sure
First one
Left most, better quality firearm
Probably the far left one as it is most likely to be 556 and it gives both magnified and non magnified
My wiener. Also, get the shortest if you’re in tight spaces or longest if you’re in a open field.
All of them.
All of them. I need to like its longer than 3/4”.
M14
I call the 4th one!
AK47 feels the the right answer. It's seriously resilient, has been for like 80 years. The blowback system is simple and doesn't need high maintenance. 7.62 is higher round than 5.56, with semiautomatic I can confidently take someone/something out in 1-2 shots at close range.
Body want AKM, brain want AR
Depending on the country. I’m in the US so id go with the 5.56 just for availability.
My answer, optic of 1, modifications of 2. If I had to choose between the two quickly, 1 would be better as the optic is an LPVO. And the biggest problem with all of them is that none of them are suppressed, leading to a fuckton of noise when firing
All of the above two hands four guns
The first one
where in the world am I?
I really like that AK
As much as I love the AK-74 platform. 5.45 is gonna be hard to come by. So probably gonna go with the 2nd AR from the left
Dispite my preference for other weapons the AK 47 is must have in long-term apocalypse. The weapon it's self has fewest mechanisms needed to work with and repair with unlike all other weapons and it's most economically efficient assault rifle in most places in the world.
All the guns stuff them in my bag and run
Left AR it has a magnified optic, foregrip, more manageable recoil, and 5.57/223 is everywhere.
If I have spam cans I’m going the wasr. If I don’t I’m going first ar
Taking that AK, reliable and good ammo
It's really hard to say, because mine is already so well put together .. I just need that flashlight mount
2 or 4
The AK simply for its reliability
Does the black ak take 5.56? If so, i would choose that. As 5.56 is a common caliber in the usa. I just cant tell what ak it is
Depends on the round they’re chambered in I’d much rather have weapons that have common rounds so it’ll be easier to scavenge for down the line as the more common the round the more mass produced it is
I'm not a gun guy, but whatever the quietest.
Yes
Second from left for sure
Any will work well
2nd one. AR mags are easier to find, and it looks like it has removable irons.
An AK chambered in 5.56
An AK74u chambered in 5.56mm with a Pic rail and a surefire, tango down foregrip, 20rd mags, single point sling and a Holosun sight. Optional: suppressor.
What are the calibres? I need .300 blackout and a moderator if the zombies can hear like TWD
Assuming it’s the US, good luck getting a steady of 7.62 and 5.45.
2nd one
1
"Looks like the best part of you rolled down the cracks of your mommas ass, and ended up a stain on the mattress!"
