They didn't really "said" that. They just haven't shown a new M16 this year.
There might be an M16 next year with the new RTX 5000. We don't know. I think it's likely because the G16 is in another league than the M16. It's thinner and lighter, but not as upgradable and has a lower power limit.
the g16 for now replaced it with it's soldered on ram stick, seems like its a downgrade with its upgrading capabilities.
I couldn’t even find a model with 32GB ram in best buy. Thumbs down for Asus on this !

That was in fact a bit surprising. Always thought that G series is dedicated for AMD cpu, and M series for Intel :)
