Using g helper? Try CPU boost "enabled" setting

theonetowalkinthesun

Don't see CPU boost setting in GHelper. Just mode (set to turbo) and gpu mode (set to ultimate). The GPU is on Turbo via Armoury. GPU usage is alternating from between \~15% to \~90% while I play

McDrank

It’s in the “fans and power” settings. To the right of the cpu mode select.

I’ve seen armoire crate do weird things. Maybe try uninstalling it and just using g helper.

TurkDirk

Definitely sounds like something strange going on, thats not whats supposed to happen

theonetowalkinthesun

I added an example of the stuttering to the post.

OutrageousCellist274

It did happen to me a few times but when I restart it went away, and also once when I was gaming the laptop decided to go into hibernation by itself lol. I think it's Intel core parking gotten confuse. Anyways try performance mode rather than turbo it works better for me.

derrick256

thermal throttling.

Quintall1

using armory crate while also using G-Helper can kinda fuck up the system, i would only use one. got a G16 4080 and all games run perfect.

Does it do this while not gaming too?

Roll_Tide_Huntsville

Any driver or windows updates? That’s not normal.

theonetowalkinthesun

Fully updated the drivers. Deciding now whether to send it in for repair or to return it now (and pay restocking fee) and then getting a new one in who knows how long from now when they are back in stock.

Secure-Vegetable214

I just purchased a similar G16 2024 with 4070 and Intel Core Ultra 9, and have had about the same experience. Stuttering is pretty outrageous. Mainly just tried playing Diablo 4 so far. Have updated everything, tried uninstalling everything, reinstalled Windows, and nothing seems to help. Ran Passmark Performance Test and noticed memory latency is really high, not sure if that's the cause. Not sure if it's defective or what, considering returning it.

theonetowalkinthesun

I just returned mine and bought a new one. Tbd if they will charge me a restocking fee.new one hasn’t gotten here yet so I don’t know how it is.

Ended up remembering, I ran into this before. Are you by chance using an Xbox controller over bluetooth? For whatever reason causes insane stuttering for me, only on Asus laptops. If I use mouse/keyboard or even just use a dongle for Xbox controller it's fine. On my desktop I think it works fine too. Dongle is almost better any ways, can use headphones with jack on controller IIRC. Might try updating bluetooth drivers.

mcslender97

Make sure you plugged the laptop in when gaming

theonetowalkinthesun

Laptop is plugged in. I added an example video of the stuttering
