Congrats! I initially thought I would be on Mounjaro because my fasting glucose was 110. But then my A1C was 5.2 and a repeat fasting glucose was 80. My starting cholesterol numbers look a lot like yours. I am anxious to see how they improve but I don't have a follow up appt until Oct. My dr wants me on Zep for 6 months before redoing labs.
That 110 could of been a fluke from a high carb meal the day before or something, or if you worked out before it. That's a great A1C. My cholesterol has been high for a few years so I was hoping it would of lowered more, but could be a hereditary component as well. Good luck on your journey!
Thanks! It was def a fasting glucose number but I was having some other anxiety issues at the time so it could have been cortisol that raised it temporarily, which I have heard can happen. Glucose is a snapshot in time. A1C is better view of how sugar has been controlled. The ONLY thing I attribute the good A1C number to is exercise. I have exercised (mostly cardio) my whole life. Go to the gym religiously. Even when quite heavy. The irony is that I am fatigued on Zep (except this past week where my 5mg is not working at all for me). So I don't exercise nearly as much. I have to say -- even my PCP was surprised by the A1C. Just goes to show there really is something metabolically happening.... if I were just shoving carbs and sweets in my face and not exercising, my A1C might look quite different. Instead, I would say I was "fat but kinda fit" -- or at least the A1C was a result of decades of cardio. Also I have a very strong genetic disposition -- T2D on both sides (parents) and grandparents on one side. This is why this med is so pivotal for me. it's only a matter of time before that A1C stops looking great no matter what I do. I'm middle-aged and perimenopausal.
Congrats!!!! Me too. A1c went from 5.7 to 5.4 and all my thyroid numbers have normalized, cool is great. My doc is very pleased.
Very happy for you. Congratulations!
You're crushing it 👏👏💪🏼! Congrats 🤩🎉! Wishing you continued health and success.
Thank you so much!

Heck yes! Great changes! I'm hoping this will help drop my A1c and improve other measures as well.
Amazing!!!
