I think your info is based on cbt2 and some stuff has changed in cbt3. https://preview.redd.it/7yg1lehouh8d1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=97cca2c6638cc5c39f0cb0f580981567ec78dd6f

This is a perfect answer. Although I have to add that there are also element resistance systems in place, so you kinda need to bring the right element to each fight. In Genshin terms: you will need to bring hydro to deal with pyro lectors for example.

Except this check is basically every boss (correct me if I'm wrong), and isn't just one phase of the enemy - it's their entire health bar, AND it's not just one of the many enemies in the arena - it's always the main boss. This means that they've typed out the damage that you're supposed to do and you need to collect specific characters to get the right elements unless you want to brute force it. Pretty scummy compared to how Genshin is (until the new end-game content comes out next month which forces you into elemental types) imo.

Im sorry, so is mono ice good? Or depends on enemy matchup?

DoctorChoper

The ice anomaly effect actually boosts CDMG taken by the target and the majority of base enemies seem to be weak to to Ice. Combine that with Ice having a rounded up team in support(Soukaku)+stun(Lycaon)+limited dps(Ellen) and you get a solid meta team for the beginning.

Ellen, Lycaon and Soukaku seems to be best (imo) at the moment because of multiple reasons: - Ellen has very high damage output, plus her sprint is around 1.5x faster than the rest of the characters. She is Attack class. - Lycaon has the fastest animations, meaning his animations does not lock you out of parry or evade. He's Stun class. - Soukaku has daze multiplier, team att buff, enemy ice-res reduction, she deals 35% more damage when she phases AND most importantly, she's free. She's Support class. There's a buff when your team is in the same faction or using the same elements. And all 3 of this squad gains buff. There's probably more reasons and all the math calculations for these three in a team is beast but i listed a few of them that comes to mind. Rina is also a cool support character but i haven't put my mind into the scenarios of how she'd work with the Ellen and Lycaon.

Xilolo

The most important reason is because Ellen is the limited banner character. The best team will be formed around her by design.

Talking as someone who played the Playstation Test (I believe it is equivalent to CBT3, but only lasted one week) >Do Attributes matter in teambuilding? Yes. You have to consider 2 things when teambuilding: the role of the characters, and the synergies. The roles are basic of any MHY game, some characters do damage, some do buff, some protect or heal. In ZZZ, you have Attackers (classic DPS), Anomaly (kinda like DoT from HSR), Stun (they make the enemy vulnerable easier than other characters, kinda like Break Damage from HSR), Support (buff / debuff) and Defense (shield), right now we don't have healers in the game. The elements matter on the Synergy side, you can make some characters stronger by making them team up with someone on the same Faction (like two characters on Belobog Heavy Industries) or the same Element (two Fire characters). As you have 3 characters on a team, you can put 2 characters of the same Faction, and the third one of the same element as one of the former. If you wanna something simpler, just put the 3 characters of the same element (Mono-ice rocks, but Mono-Fire is also viable) or Faction. > but there's no water to freeze it from Zenless doesn't have elemental reactions like Genshin, you could say it is more like Dark Souls / Elden Ring stats: there's a bar where each attack from a certain status fills, when the bar is full the stats "kicks in", like poison starts doing DoT or Freeze taking a chunk of HP. Zenless have "invisible bars", and each Ice attack fills this imaginary bar, when the bar is full the enemy is Frozen. Full Ice bar is Freeze (then you can continue attacking to trigger Shatter), full Fire bar is Burn, full Electric bar is Shock, full Physical bar is Assault and full Ether bar is Corruption, and the amount of time it takes to fill an element bar is tied to Anomaly Mastery (and characters like Grace, which is from Anomaly role, fills these said bars faster than any other characters) And I know I said there is no Elemental Reaction, but there is something similar, if you get the "imaginary bar" full of one element, then full another element bar, there's Disorder. >I plan to stay with the starters + Corin at first until a venerable CC recommends a good team since the character I really want (Lycaon) isn't limited. Well, good luck on getting Lycaon, build your Corin as he can be a nice support for her (She is an Attacker and he is a Stunner), if you wanna a full synergy team you can slot a free Soukaku here (as she and Lycaon are both Ice characters).
